Thoughts on men that like younger women

So I seem to come across a lot of blokes late 20's early 30's who like younger girls, between 19-21. I know we are only talking around 10 years age gap here but I think it's disgusting...

I remember when I was 19 at uni and my flat mate's 29 year old friend was trying to sleep with me - I thought he was weird as hell! I was never a immature 19 year old but still, 19 to me is still VERY young.

Is this totally normal? Am I being unreasonable here for judging a bloke for constantly liking younger girls photos? I appreciate these girls look late 20's but for some reason it freaks me out and puts me right off them.

Not sure what I'm asking here, just after a gentle discussion

You’re right though Trevsadick, this attitude that just lumps women over a certain age into the jealous, infertile group of hysterical old unattractive women is so boring.

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:15

@Wolfgirrl

I’m curious to know what makes you so confident that you have all the answers and know all there is to know about gender and how womeN are treated when they get older when your relatively so early in the journey of womanhood

I'm curious to know what makes you so confident that you have all the answers? You have only lived your life. Same as me. We will have had completely different experiences. Just because your life has been longer, it doesn't mean you have had all the experiences I have.

you tried to threaten to get you bf to give his opinion and put all us old women straight

Threatened 😂😂 gosh how frightening, I was going to ask him what he thought of this thread (you know, as it is about men like him) then didnt because nobody was interested. It is dramatisation like that that makes women look hysterical!

Yes @Trevsadick but how does this manifest itself into treatment of women?

When did I ever say I had all the answers wolfgirl . I clearly stated I’m still learning . You seem to have difficulty reading a lot of what people write and take only what fits your agenda As for hearing from your bf , it really is the funniest thing ... that you’d assume the opinion of a man who is involved with a younger woman has anything to offer . The question wasn’t about why he in particular wants to be involved with you and as you’ll get older perhaps you’ll understand why his opinions in this thread matter so little
Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:17

How do you suggest targeting this so-called problem if not opening the issue for discussion with men? Just out of interest.

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:23

The treatment of women in society won’t change with men of my age today . It will take a time and is slowly beginning to change . The whole dynamics between the genders is changing but won’t happen in our lifetimes in my opinion .

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:23

And obviously it’s not just men who need educating on these issues

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 10:24

I wish some of you would look at tik tok (I know, I'm shielding, have been stuck indoors for ten weeks slowly going insane, don't judge me). There are so many older women on there making obscene comments on young men's videos and I'm not just talking about an odd comment, I'm talking about hundreds of comments on each video. They've even constructed a cougar town hashtag for the purpose. So many of these comments also.include phrases like "I hope you are legal". Then you get young girls commenting on videos of young blokes with the men basically telling them to stop, or that they can't believe how outrageous the comments are. Honestly, it has opened my eyes. This is not just a male problem. I think the safety of a computer screen means that women are behaving in ways that they wouldn't face to face but it clearly shows what they are thinking. It's embarrassing to witness.

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:27

Wolfgirl in my opinion , you come across as hating women so much and I wonder how much you’re really going to like yourself as you get older considering the ways in which you talk so disparagingly about older women. It not going to be a wonderful place to be in to hate what you yourself are becoming and to believe any man your with can’t help but want someone younger .

Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:33

Hating women 😂😂 the default accusation when the debate gets tough...

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras be careful, you'll be accused of hating women as well with that comment 🙄

Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:36

It's quite reminiscent of men being called 'soft boys' by other men because they're sympathising with womens feelings.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 10:36

@Wolfgirrl - don't worry I get constantly accused of it on here.

I'm not on anyone's team, men or women's, - I just can't stand hypocrisy and there's so much of it on MN. On here all men are terrible and all women are angels. Some posters here will excuse women anything.

The double standard is alive and well on MN.

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:36

Your not hard to debate at all wolfgirl , just tiring lol I’m old after all 😂 it feels like I have a teenager here stomping her feet about how wise she is and she has nothing more to learn because .... we’ll be side wow an older man dates me

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 10:39

See, how are you not doing exactly what you are accusing wolfgirl of doing? Why do you need to judge and belittle another woman for making her own choices in life?
Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:39

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras

Agreed. Just because I wont agree that men being attracted to younger women is a male patriarchal conspiracy, I've been called all the names under the sun 🙄 so much for the sisterhood!

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 10:43

@Wolfgirrl I couldn't agree with you more.

So many women on here insist that they support women etc but what they mean is that they support women who agree with them. If you are different or disagree with them in anyway then prepare to be attacked.

They will criticise men for judging women who have different standpoints on things, be that how they look, act, behave and so on, but then women do exactly the same. Go figure

GilbertMarkham · 01/06/2020 10:47

The double standard is alive and well on MN.

Not in that thread with the fifty something talking about the twenty something she was chatting to etc. via dating/SM..... The most vicious character assassination, so derogatory, so many uuugh comments about their sons being the sabebafe, so many accusations inc of her being unstable, pathetic etc.

Cakecup1 · 01/06/2020 10:47

No one cares about your choices wolfgifl. I’m referring to your attitude ... but you know The truth is as simple as this ... you dont value ANyBODIES life experiences yet you expect it from other . The fact is other DO have more knowledge about the world than you and how it works simply because they have been on the planet a lot longer than you. You may not believe that includes me and that’s fine but in reality you have refused to listen or acknowledge the experience of ANY other woman who you disagree with .

There’s no arguing with a 27 or 2& yr old who proudly declares they have nothing to learn and life experience means nothing .
Like someone said upthread really not worth listening to

Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:51

@hearhoovesthinkzebras

There hasn't been a single mention of cougars on this thread, bar your post which was conveniently ignored. I can think of many women that serially date younger men, such as Madonna, Caroline Flack (rip), Kelly Brook, Kylie Minogue. Not to mention women such as Sam Taylor Wood, Cheryl Cole, etc

Everyone on here says they would disapprove of their daughters having an age gap relationship when they are adults, but what about their sons?

Wolfgirrl · 01/06/2020 10:52

There’s no arguing with a 27 or 2& yr old who proudly declares they have nothing to learn and life experience means nothing

I'm sorry when did I 'proudly' declare that?

Trevsadick · 01/06/2020 10:54

You haven't been called all the names u der the sun.

You have called older women names. Told us we are bitter because we won't agree with your factually i correct point of view about biology.

I dont really see why I should have to explain the ways seisin inpacts women. As a human being living in a society, you should be aware.

Hooves i agree with you on tiktok, to a point. Some of the videos are uncomfortable.

Mainly I see on my feed women, who are dueting with men who are seeking out femal attention. Firemen posting toilets asking people to duet their reactions.

Women & girls doing the same, asking for male attention through a duet.

I will point out though, your 'for you' depends on what videos you watch to the end.

Oddly I got a lot of 'dom' videos at first, I dont now because I scroll on. If you sre seeking out and watching certain videos, those types will appear on your feed more. By watching you are adding to their watched numbers.

If you don't watch them, they will stop being in your feed.

I also haven't come across the disgusting 'MAP' hastag. Theres lots of them on there
Do you feel that reflects badly on all men as well?

GilbertMarkham · 01/06/2020 10:58

*same age

Opaljewel · 01/06/2020 10:58

A few slightly weird and interesting comments on here. Not all young girls who fancy older men have daddy issues as one poster put it and neither do all older men have some kind of weird fetish for younger girls.

Me and my partner met when I was 19.
We were friends for a good year before anything happened. We both work together (do still) and sometimes have been on different sites. We didn't get together until I was 20. There was an undeniable chemistry there, one I've never had with anyone before and still have it. Yes he was a bit worried about the age gap at first but I never ever cared. I know my own mind and always have. Still haven't changed it at 34. It's a bit presumptuous to assume all younger girls don't know their minds. Just like it's wrong to assume all older men are perves. My partner does not make a habit out of it. We fell in love and still are 14 years on.

Please try and realise some people that was doesn't work for you, doesn't mean that it doesn't work for others. I was lucky I had supportive parents who met my partner and saw why I loved him. Everyone likes him. You should support your daughter or son's choice as long as the other person is good to them and not abusive. You cannot decide someone's life for them, you will only drive them away doing that.

Age gaps are no different from people having a gender preference, a preference for fat or slim people (I'm fat before anyone gets upset) or a preference for tall or maybe you prefer people of a certain race to fancy such as asian men or caucasian Etc.

No one has the right to tell anyone who they find attractive is wrong. You are not in their beds at night.

Trevsadick · 01/06/2020 10:58

Also I dont think anyone has said womrn never do any of this stuff.

But you cant pretend the numbers are anywhere near the same.

Opaljewel · 01/06/2020 11:00

That what doesn't work for them* correction

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 11:08

Trevsadick

Oh no, I completely agree. There are men posting all the "look at me" videos, and worse. Absolutely. I don't disagree.

But what really shocked me was how many older women are reacting to the videos of young men with really near the knuckle comments, disregarding their age, telling them what they want to do to them and so on.

So I'm not ignoring the videos posted by the men, but that is already spoken about. I'm raising on this thread that women appear to be just as capable as having the exact same thoughts about much younger men as men are about younger women, yet that is largely ignored.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 01/06/2020 11:16

@Trevsadick

I honestly don't know how the numbers stack up.

The only she difference relationship within my family, close and extended, or friends is one where the female partner is 15 years older than the male partner and another where the woman was nearer twenty years older than the man - she's sadly now died. So, they are my only personal experiences of age difference relationships.
