Context is they have a new client in Singapore who they have been given the option to either schedule a phone meeting with or visit (at their own company’s expense.)

DH: can you do either 15,16 or 17 may in Singapore?
Colleague: yes! Exciting! Who’s coming?
DH: you and me. Have a look at the flight options and let’s make a plan. Ok?
Colleague: yes, really looking forward.
DH: cool 😎
Colleague: OK I looked. Flights are tricky. I want to get there in time to have a day and a really nice dinner that first evening as the rest will be work.
DH: Next time!
DH: Or we stay an extra night and make a day of it?
Colleague: let’s see.
DH: we can always go back another time
DH: ok i’ve Looked at flights again. We can have a long lunch that first day?
Colleague: ok. I’m looking forward. Can’t wait to get a break.
DH: alternatively could you fly early Sunday?
Colleague: what time on Sunday?
DH: early, so we can hang out, have lunch, have dinner etc.
Colleague: ok great. It is better we do this meeting in person, isn’t it?
DH: yes. If you want to come later on Sunday it’s okay too.
Colleague: no; the longer away the better for me. Just want a break.

That doesn't really seem dodgy.

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 16:57

I don't think there's anything dodgy there except that they're both trying to get a longer jolly out of the company credit card.

Lottaberry · 22/04/2019 16:58

Hi OP, I don't think this shows any signs of even being slightly dodgy yet?

If this is the only thing concerning you between them, I don't think there's enough evidence to suspect anything odd (if just based on this!)

CaptainJaneway12 · 22/04/2019 16:58

Seems fine, work trip and colleague wants to make the most of it.

SinglePringle · 22/04/2019 16:59

Nope. Two colleagues who get along looking forward to going to and seeing an exciting and interesting new place. Not to say I wouldn’t have a pang of jealousy about the trip but I wouldn’t think it dodgy.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/04/2019 16:59

Not necessarily. Could be legit - nothing to suggest anything dodgy based on that conversation.
Who is the colleague? Do you know her?Andwhat your marriage is like -have you been given reason to be suspicious?

trinity0097 · 22/04/2019 16:59

Nothing seems dodgy other than having a jolly on the company expense. Sounds like two people excited to go to Singapore.

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 22/04/2019 16:59

Not dodgy at all. As others have said, just making the most of the company paying

ParmaViolet44 · 22/04/2019 17:00

Difficult to say without knowing more context really. Nothing particularly jumps out at me. It really depends on how honest he is with you about the whole trip and whether you have other reasons to doubt him and his relationship with the colleague.

If I were being sent to Singapore on business I would probably try to make the most of it too. My DH travels a bit and sometimes stays on an extra day or evening to catch up with people/have dinners. He's very open about it though so no issue.

PresidentHump · 22/04/2019 17:01

Seems fine.

Littlechocola · 22/04/2019 17:03

They just don’t want to go all that way and not see Singapore.

LikeDolphinsCanSwim · 22/04/2019 17:03

Looks fine to me.

spongedog · 22/04/2019 17:05

Normally if a phone call does the job, then a meeting in the location would not be approved. It seems slightly odd for those to be the options.

ShesABelter · 22/04/2019 17:05

Yeh I don't think it's dodgy. I'd want to get there and spend time there if going all the way to Singapore too to make the most of it.

BirdieInTheHand · 22/04/2019 17:08

I've talked like this about work trips when the location has been a good one.

Is there something else that has you suspicious?

Emeraldcleo123 · 22/04/2019 17:09

In the last place I worked I used to travel a lot and usually with the same male colleague. We used to do the same, try to get an extra day as some of the places we travelled were so far away and we knew chances were we wouldn't get a chance to go again. Totally innocent!!

Whisky2014 · 22/04/2019 17:10

Doesn't seem dodgy to me

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 17:13

It sounds a bit like your husband is planning a holiday with another women which feels dodgy but on the other hand there's nothing to imply they actually have any feelings for each other and aren't just excited about a holiday on the company's dime.

warriorprincessandwidowed · 22/04/2019 17:14

Seems dodgy as fuck....

My God some of you are blind... he tried to rope her in more than once ffs

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 17:14

If it had been a guy would you think something was up, or that it was a bit weird?

stanski · 22/04/2019 17:15

Looks normal to me

IvanaPee · 22/04/2019 17:15

Seems fine!

They’re trying to make the most out of a short trip to somewhere they have to go for work. I’d do the same thing!

SunshineCake · 22/04/2019 17:16

I'd be a bit uneasy tbh.

inmyfeelings · 22/04/2019 17:17

I'd be cautious . He keeps mentioning spending time with her . As a married man , he should have been clearer that he needed a break or wanting to see Singapore , not dine her and hang out .

Reddedder · 22/04/2019 17:17

Seems fine to me
