Revenge body anyone?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 19/09/2018 17:24

So basically I experienced missed miscarriage, got cheated on, emotionally abused and dumped by my ex three months ago. I felt destroyed , literally broken for the first month but now I am starting to feel stronger (thanks to the supportive people on mumsnet who commented on my threads) . Trouble is I’ve been comfort eating since the break up and have put on 3 stone. 😱
I am always usually in good shape and have competed before.

Anyways long story short I’m goIng to start training again from Monday, with the aim to get my six pack back! I thought it would be nice if maybe others wanted to achieve a revenge body then I could help you with diet/ training and we can all support each other and get in shape for the festive season (Christmas party dresses ahoy) . I am not going to charge anyone for this obviously (before anyone starts to think of this as a plug for Personal training , I don’t do it for a living ). 😬

@3littlesandme no worries , food shopping , I try to go when I’ve eaten so I don’t buy lots of unnecessary junk food 😂xx
@GirlWithTheYellowHat 🙋🏻‍♀️ Welcome lovely 😊 xx

@Applesandoranges1 hiya ☺️, I usually spend 45 mins - 55 mins in the gym when I’m doing weight training .
The fasted cardio I do on my exercise bike in my house in the morning before work xx

That's a great idea. Better stay away from the choc aisle.

Thisnamechanger · 20/09/2018 14:35

Let's not introduce any negativity to this thread eh thisnamechanger

That's my point though - it's awesome to get fit strong and healthy for yourself - not to get back at some horrible man who doesn't deserve you. Grin

Daria32 · 20/09/2018 14:56

I’m in! I only have a few kilos to lose- but they are the hardest! Is fasted cardio a lot better than normal? I do a lot of cardio but all in the evening when kids are in bed, how long do you have to fast beforehand? It would obvs be easier in the morning but I have a baby that doesn’t sleep!! 😂

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 15:30

@Thisnamechanger I think what I posted at the very top of page 3 (in response to jemima ) mitigates your query Smile

@Daria32 welcome lovely 💛, you can do the fasted cardio when your stomach feels empty (that will depend on how much you eat at your previous meal, but you know yourself when you have that non full feeling ) obviously better to do it in the morning but any cardio will help with your goals ! Xx how’s your diet? Xx

This is a great thread, Thank you for starting it and getting everyone motivated.
I already workout regularly, mainly doing classes at the gym such as body combat and body pump. I jog for 30 minutes once a week and always get my daily 10k steps BUT my waistline has expanded (blaming age/menopause) so I'd like to lose half a stone.
Can I ask a couple of questions?

  1. What exercise do you do on your 2 non gym days?
  2. How important are these protein shakes? I've always been a little dismissive of them Blush
FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 16:07

@DeadBod you’re so welcome ! And thanks for joining the thread ☺️.
So on my 2 non gym days on the 1 day I will still incirporate 20 min cardio . The reason why I have a break in between is to give the muscles time to recover. So for instance I’ll do arms on Monday , legs on Tuesday rest day on Wednesday (but still do cardio) , do back on Thursday , chest on Friday , shoulders on Saturday and a full rest day on Sunday (with no cardio 😅) .

Protein shakes aren’t at all a must it’s just an easy way for me to get protein into my body without having to make lots of meals and you can find protein shakes that are low in carbs and sugars, so it doesn’t make too much of a dent on the calorie intake . So basically shakes just make it convenient for me but I would never replace all my meals for protein shakes as I don’t find them filling enough. Hope that makes sense? And I’ve explained it ok xx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 16:09

Oh also I use protein shakes when I am craving for chocolate 😂 i find it hits the spots .
Stay away from protein bars though, usually when you look at the nutrition values they are full of sugar, carbs and only a tiny amount of protein. I swerve them totally xx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 16:13

@DeadBod also if your waist line is slightly expanding it would maybe indicate tha your not burning off enough calories that are being digested throughout the week. What’s your diet like? Xx

OP posts:
DeadBod · 20/09/2018 17:22

My diet isn't too bad but I could make improvements. Generally I have muesli for breakfast, sandwich + yoghurt + fruit for lunch and then have a cooked tea (homemade from scratch). I'm not one for sweets and crisps, although I indulge on a weekend, but I do eat a lot of cheese and yoghurt so I'll be looking at switching those for a healthier option.
I'm not going to go "all out" with a diet plan as I wouldn't keep it up long term with a family and work to factor in but I'll have to look at portion sizes and choices.
I'll look into protein shakes and see where I could fit them in.
Thank you for replying to my post.

Daria32 · 20/09/2018 18:16

Thanks! My diet’s pretty good, save a few 🍷 on the weekend! Lots of protein, low carbs and plenty of veg. It’s easy to get a bit lax and I just need to motivate myself again!

zobo90 · 20/09/2018 18:26

Hiii new to the thread! You look incredible on that picture OP so I am going to be joining you on your fitness journey!!! Only thing is, I get sooo bored in the gym! Any tips? Xx

takingflight2018 · 20/09/2018 18:34

Great thread, I'm in!!

I used to have soft baby abs at 57kg and I'm now about 64-65Kg I don't use scales just clothes, so i'm guessing at the higher weight! But I'm only 5'2 so its all on my belly..

Could you post your weights work outs as well, as I train heavy, compound lifts mostly but only twice a week for 55 minutes, I can add in the other sessions with some new ideas and use my home gym...

I'm off to buy a rowing machine to fit in my extra 20 minutes in the morning, I've never heard of fasting cardio and I think that will do the trick as I avoid cardio at all costs :-)

Food wise I used to prep on Sundays, so I will put that back on my radar..and load up the app again..

Thank you :-)

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 18:37

@DeadBod no problem at all and I think your plan sounds good! ☺️ Xx

@Daria32 I know what you mean with the 🍷, as you can tell by username I am quite partial to a glass . I try to limit myself though when I’m dieting to two glasses on a Saturday and one on a Sunday. Xx

@zobo90 welcome ☺️, have you tried going with a friend who has similar goals? A training partner is great for motivation and accountability (as you don’t want to let you training partner down by not going to the gym ). Good music helps , I have a gym playlist which is currently full of Beyoncé 😂 (don’t judge me) but anything that makes you want to get busy has helped me through many a gym session xx

@takingflight2018 hiya 🙋🏻‍♀️ and welcome ! So glad you’re going to incorporate fasted cardio with your new rowing machine ☺️ . Yes I’ll defo be posting my full work out here (for the full week ) this coming Saturday, as it will give me chance to write it all up properly and also provide a gym alternative work out (for people that struggle to get to a gym but want to work out at home ) ☺️ Xx

Enigmam · 20/09/2018 19:05

Ooh can I join please? I have DS10 months, 3rd and last DC and trying to get myself back together. My stomach muscles are shot but I would like to get back into shape.

Libra27 · 20/09/2018 19:05

Id love to begin a body transformation with you. I go gym regularly but apart from staying healthy I never see any definition so it would be nice to have someone to go to for advice xxx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 19:21

@Enigmam @Libra27 hiya both ☺️ Glad to have you join the thread , I’ll be posting work out routine , my meal plan for the day and if you have any questions then I’m happy to help 💛 xx
@Libra27 what do you do when you go to gym typically ? It may help me understand why you’re not seeing the results you want xx

OP posts:
Libra27 · 20/09/2018 20:27

I use to do a stupid amount of.cardio but I don't want to lose anymore weight so I've started to use heavy weights and only do ten mins cardio as warm up. My problem now is impatience and I always slack on the weekends.

But this support group may be a really big help:) xx

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 07:31

@FuckItPassMeTheWine I'm looking forward to seeing your workout schedule. Like @Libra27 I've often focused on cardio so haven't always seen a change in body composition. I really want to get some sexy curves back :)

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 08:12

@Applesandoranges1 morning lovely 😊, I’ll be posting it al tomorrow , so glad you’re excited . I can’t wait too 💪🏼. Xx

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 09:08

I will post my measurements, I'm not going to focus on weight loss but inches instead! Exciting!!

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 09:11

@DeadBod your diet sounds just like mine, a lot of cooking from scratch - healthy food but probably my portions were too large.. and a lot of cheese (and wine) at weekends. I think this is how the extra weight has crept on. I have protein powder but never got into the habit of making them.

Changedforpost · 21/09/2018 09:17

Hey all. Awesome thread. I don't need a revenge body but I do weights training a lot in the gym if anyone needs any tips along side ops. I've got a few cracking butt toning moves that I've started seeing a difference on in just a couple of weeks. I'm not a personal trainer,I'm actually working out to gain mass.
