Revenge body anyone?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 19/09/2018 17:24

So basically I experienced missed miscarriage, got cheated on, emotionally abused and dumped by my ex three months ago. I felt destroyed , literally broken for the first month but now I am starting to feel stronger (thanks to the supportive people on mumsnet who commented on my threads) . Trouble is I’ve been comfort eating since the break up and have put on 3 stone. 😱
I am always usually in good shape and have competed before.

Anyways long story short I’m goIng to start training again from Monday, with the aim to get my six pack back! I thought it would be nice if maybe others wanted to achieve a revenge body then I could help you with diet/ training and we can all support each other and get in shape for the festive season (Christmas party dresses ahoy) . I am not going to charge anyone for this obviously (before anyone starts to think of this as a plug for Personal training , I don’t do it for a living ). 😬

@Changedforpost - brilliant! I'm in. Not sure if you saw my earlier post but I have a layer of abdo far and I've lost my bum, it's flat and not helped in appearance by my "love handles".

Changedforpost · 21/09/2018 09:23

Ahhh I may be able to throw you some tips as im sure op can. I am a size 8 but lost a lot of weight through stress. I'm trying to gain healthy weight back and get my arse and curves back. My butt was perilously flat but it's shaping up nicely now. Jeans fit much better. Shall post up some ideas when I'm at the gym later

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 10:05

@Changedforpost welcome to to the thread ☺️ So glad you’re in too 💛. Xx

@Applesandoranges1 I’ll be posting my legs / bum (glute) work out on Saturday . You can maybe incorporate then the exercises that work best for you. When I competed I got feedback from the judges that my glutes and legs were the best on the stage so I think the leg routine paid off.

Ah this is such a good idea, I'll be joining too!

I need to lose about 9lbs. I've lost around 2 stone over the last 2 years but I need to shift the last bit and tone up! My diet is awful and I'm constantly feeling tired so I need something to help kickstart a healthier lifestyle! x

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 10:22

@FuckItPassMeTheWine thanks so much for sharing. I always look a girls like you and wonder how it's done!

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 10:24

@Mai5x welcome to the thread lovely 💛☺️ You can lose body fat and tone up at the same time. I’ve posted what I eat but I’ll be posting more examples of my daily intake.
I’ll be also posting my work out routine .
I think @Changedforpost is a gym bunny too so she’ll be posting her workouts and I’m sure there will be more people joining the thread to share what’s worked for them Smile I’m hoping that this thread will support us all and be really collaborative xx

@changedforpost I'm so excited to start this journey with you ladies! Definitely need help building a bigger bum! I've attempted the squat bar and I'm slowly beginning to add weights.

Will post my measurements too, not looking to lose just tone and build

Xxxx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 10:27

@Applesandoranges1 I researched a lot via books / online, went to body building gyms (where the majority of the gym users compete) so I got all the info from them and then started. This thread will hopefully save you all that hassle 😂 xx

Mai5x · 21/09/2018 10:31

FuckItPassMeTheWine - Hopefully it won't take me too long, I'm hoping to lose it all by January! (although I'll probably gain a stone over Christmas haha).

Is it worth joining a gym for motivation do you think?! x

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 10:33

@FuckItPassMeTheWine I'll need to start slow as I've not really done much for 2-3 years. I want this to be a lifestyle change as opposed to jumping in and doing too much then losing momentum and quitting. Also, what is your natural body type? I am naturally slim but with layer of fat everywhere. I've always been slightly envious if people who seem to maintain muscle tone despite being overweight. I just look "soft" IYSWIM?

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 10:34

@Mai5x I feel tired all the time too.. hoping this is going to work for me! Good luck x

Libra27 · 21/09/2018 10:37

@applesandoranges I'm very bottom heavy not top heavy, all my fat just loves to cling to my bum and thighs so I find it so hard to get rid of cellulite and tone even at my slimmest which was under 8 stone. Sounds small but I'm only 5,2 . Don't want to be that small tho as you could see my rib cage 💀

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 10:39

@Libra27 I spent a lot of time squatting but just going 90 degrees. By doing this your but is not really doing a lot of work, it’s mainly your quads and hamstring.

I now do box squats , I get a reebok step and but it underneath . Squat till my bum touches the steps , pause and then push up from there. This uses maximum glute activation as you have to push all the way up 😅. I have attached a google image of this so you understand what I’m saying .

Another good move is hip thrusts , using the ham curl machine . I’ve attached a google image for that too so you can see what I mean ☺️Xx

Applesandoranges1 - I hate not being motivated enough to do anything, all I want to do when I've finished work is lay in bed and eat haha, but I know I'm not going to get anywhere doing that!

I want to build my bum up too, and would be nice to see abs for the first time! Good luck to you too! xx

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 10:49

Sounds like weight training is the way ahead.

Bit of personal info about me as you have shared with us OP.

I'm a mum and step mum and life is chaotic. I work part time in a role that is stressful and emotionally draining. My relationship has been under a lot of stress since we moved in together 2 years ago but recently we sorted out most of the issues and things are more balanced and life feels good. I've neglected myself over the last few years putting everyone else's needs above mine and now I want to take a bit of time focussing on me! So not exactly a revenge body but "I'm coming at you life, I'm strong enough for whatever you want to throw at me" body 😂😂😂

Applesandoranges1 · 21/09/2018 10:50

@Mai5x that's me in a nutshell, any excuse not to do it!! We can all motivate each other. I'm really going to try and get up 40mins earlier and do something on an empty stomach to see how that goes.

gimeallthecake · 21/09/2018 10:51

Me! My ex left me for a 22 year old french student when I was 4 weeks pregnant. Just had my little boy 11 weeks ago and I need to lose 1.5 stones. It's super hard as I'm breastfeeding and can't technically diet but I can exercise Smile

Changedforpost · 21/09/2018 10:51

@Fuckit more of a gym badger than bunny haha I do what I can but it seems to be working. I've gone from being able to lift 20kilo on a deadlift to 80kg in the space of a couple of months tho which I'm pretty happy about.

I find curtsey squats with a leg raise after each one with 8 reps and 3 sets work a treat. I usually have about 30kg plus the 15kg of the bar. They are working a treat aswel as regular squats

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 10:54

@Mai5x I think it’s good to join a gym as the equipment there will be really beneficial . Understand that some people can’t get to the gym so I’ll be posting home work out routines too but a gym is my personal preferred choice Smile xx

@Applesandoranges1 I’d say my natural body type is curvy (bottom heavy) but you can sculpt your body to literally the ideal for you . It’s all about knowing the correct exercise and consistency. Yes I agree go in slowly and before you know it , it will become part of your routine and something you enjoy xx

@Libra27 I suffered with cellulite , I found the stair master at the gym really useful for that as part of cardio and also a weighted leg workout helps to tighten the muscles so cellulite was basically gone xx

Mai5x · 21/09/2018 11:03

Applesandoranges1 - that's a good idea, I think I might have to start setting my alarm earlier too, and going to bed a bit earlier!

FuckItPassMeTheWine - I think I may have to join the gym, I'm starting a new job in the next few weeks and there is a gym 2 minutes away, so I think that might make me motivated as I'll be driving past it every day! xx

Changedforpost · 21/09/2018 11:05

Thought I'd share a bit about me as everyone else has. I'm 29 have a 5 year old (6 tomorrow) a 4 year old and an autistic 22 month old. The stress of repeated illnesses with youngest aswel as general life got on top of me and the weight dropped off me at an alarming rate. I go to the gym every other day as a bit of an escape and also to try and help me out healthy weight back on. I suffer with health a little. I am currently waiting on a hysterectomy for my severe post ablation sterilisation syndrome which often leaves me in quite bad pain. However I find working out really helps me feel better about myself. I have picked up things along the way and learnt what works for me,and I'm happy to advise if I can .

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 21/09/2018 11:11

@legocardsagain I have EDS so same/similar problems. Mine isn't revenge exactly, but post split I need to be fitter to help make me more able to cope with looking after the DCs alone. Stbxh has been my carer for years, and now I have to somehow go it alone. Meh.

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 11:53

@Applesandoranges1 that’s wonderful that you’re bringing the focus back to you and sounds like an ideal time Smile xx

@gimeallthecake congrats on your little one and welcome 💛 let’s do this xx

@Changedforpost that’s really good progress in terms of the lifting Smile sorry to hear about your health issues but it’s admirable that you don’t let it define you 💛 xx

@Mai5x I have a gym right by my work place , so it’s easy to get to . Think it’s a fab idea xx

@BeyondAnOmnishambles sorry to hear about your split , onwards & upwards 💛welcome to the thread lovely xx

gimeallthecake I'm so angry on your behalf. What a swine your ex is. Just concentrate on eating well nutritionally and the exercise will help keep your spirits up. Congrats on your squigy newborn.

MsForestier · 21/09/2018 12:07

I'm on one of the other weightless threads - lose weight before Xmas eve. Etc.

Wouldn't mind a revenge body but the awkward squad is my father, mother and sister who I'm not in touch with. I just want to be my best self having escaped them. Years of being the scapegoat. Lovely dh but have been comfort eating and need to get fit. 5'5" gone from 79kg to 77.6 in 2 weeks
