Revenge body anyone?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 19/09/2018 17:24

So basically I experienced missed miscarriage, got cheated on, emotionally abused and dumped by my ex three months ago. I felt destroyed , literally broken for the first month but now I am starting to feel stronger (thanks to the supportive people on mumsnet who commented on my threads) . Trouble is I’ve been comfort eating since the break up and have put on 3 stone. 😱
I am always usually in good shape and have competed before.

Anyways long story short I’m goIng to start training again from Monday, with the aim to get my six pack back! I thought it would be nice if maybe others wanted to achieve a revenge body then I could help you with diet/ training and we can all support each other and get in shape for the festive season (Christmas party dresses ahoy) . I am not going to charge anyone for this obviously (before anyone starts to think of this as a plug for Personal training , I don’t do it for a living ). 😬

@FuckItPassMeTheWine could you post some home work outs. I rarely ever get to go to the gym

Strawberrylaceaddict · 19/09/2018 22:29

Definitely want to join in! I need to get my diet in check. I tend to Restrict myself all day and then when I’ve got home and kids are all in bed I’m so hungry and grab the biscuits. I know most of that is habit and boredom but I also don’t think I’m eating enough during the day to stop the hunger later on.

Applesandoranges1 · 19/09/2018 22:37

@FuckItPassMeTheWine my problem is that have a slim frame with big layer of fat around abdomen, but still have a waist, and slim legs/arms but everything seems to have a covering of wobbly fat. I lost my pert bottom after pregnancies (and stopping running). Am I best to just stick doing weights to try and gain muscle? I currently have low muscle tone.

Weight wise I only weigh 10lb more than pre pregnancy but body shape has changed significantly. Should I do low calorie and high protein? I love carbs especially bread and really struggle to cut them out. Just want this layer of fat to go!

gingergenius · 19/09/2018 22:40

I'm in. Also getting through a shitty split from an abusive ex and so want a revenge body. I have a punch bag and gloves, hand weights a step machine and bar weights and a gym ball so I reckon I've got the makings of a good workout there!

curlies · 19/09/2018 23:18

This sounds amazing op! I need to lose a good 2 stone of not 3. I'm on holiday at the moment but will try and do bits here and the start properly when I get back.

DialsMavis · 19/09/2018 23:29

I'm in... Changed my diet and exercised and ended up looking....ok. but get complacent and just veer between a bit porky and O.K rather than carrying on and reaching the looking shit hot phase and staying there.

stevesmithisaverynaughtyboy · 19/09/2018 23:41

Hey, op. I don’t need to jump on your program as a. I’m a guy, and b. I already do the gym / healthy eating thing.

I just wanted to say that I think you’re doing a great thing by dragging others into your healthy living plan. It’s a lovely thing you’re doing. Well done.

Vivino · 19/09/2018 23:52

Literally joined MN (long-time, cheque-cancelling lurker) to get in on this thread. I've just moved countries and the combination of few friends, heaps of free time and lots of new junk food to explore has been... detrimental. Does it still count as a revenge body if you left your abusive ex two years ago but know he still stalks you on social media? Grin

I'm a tiny bit taller than you @FuckItPassMeTheWine but 60kg is my ideal weight - I always feel really good in myself when I'm there. Haven't weighed myself in about a month but would say I'm in the high 60s now. Really interested to see your workout routine, in the past I've only gone to weights classes at the gym and haven't ventured into the main part as I have no clue what I'm doing.

Completely agree re complacency/carrying on @DialsMavis I can shift a few kgs easily enough if I just stop eating Caramello Koalas like they're going out of fashion, but I know if I really knuckle down I can get the body I want by summer (which is just around the corner on this side of the globe!)

Thisnamechanger · 19/09/2018 23:53

Does anyone else dislike the term revenge body Sad

OohOohMrPeevly · 20/09/2018 06:54

Let's not introduce any negativity to this thread eh thisnamechanger

If people are getting themselves fitter and healthier by using a difficult experience to motivate themselves then I think that's absolutely fine.

slapbitchface · 20/09/2018 07:43

Omg how did you get that stomach? I have lost wait but can't find my abs

slapbitchface · 20/09/2018 07:52

Weight lol

Smellyoulateralligator · 20/09/2018 08:38

Thank you FuckItPassMeTheWine - and you Flowers

Thank you for the tips. I’m going to google fasted cardio :) I’d love to get rid of it!

Storm4star · 20/09/2018 09:28

I love how this thread is growing, knowing we're all doing it together really helps. Thanks for starting this OP Smile

I think I will also need to build up gradually, but it's making the start that's been hard and this will definitely give me more motivation.

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 09:34

@Ooglies @DangerMouse17 @Sharkwithknees @Applesandoranges1 @LuluBellaBlue @Lookatyourwatchnow so glad to have you on board ladies , let’s do this Smile
@3littlesandme yes I’ll post a home alternative work out for every gym training session I post 💪🏼
@Strawberrylaceaddict I posted what I eat to give you an idea. When I crave chocolate/biscuits I usually grab a protein shake and that tends to mitigate the sugar craving. Also when I’m thinking of biscuits I quickly remind myself of my goals and start looking at pictures of female physiques that I admire to help me stay focused. Or start watching a tv programme that I can get engrossed in , it’s mind power when it comes to the diet , it’s hard but I’m sure you can do it !
@Applesandoranges1 we all hold fat in different places , you can eradicate fat by doing fasted cardio reducing carb in take so that you have carbs in the morning and lunch a small amount at dinner. I’ve posted what I eat to give people an idea. Weights will definately help to get more toned ! Smile
@gingergenius you definately have ! Stepper is fab , for your fasted morning cardio you could do 10 mins on the stepper and 10 mins hitting the punch bag 💪🏼

This is so exciting 💛 xxx

@stevesmithisaverynaughtyboy aw thanks so much
@Vivino welcome ! Yes I’ll be posting gym workouts so you know what to do when you get to the gym Smile .
@Thisnamechanger sorry , it was the only name that sprung to mind , but happy for suggestions for the next thread (assuming it’s still going strong which I hope it will be ) Smile
@OohOohMrPeevly aw thank you lovely Flowers
@slapbitchface from fasted cardio and reducing carb intake. Everyone has abs it’s just you only see them when your body fat reduces . You burn fat by fasted cardio, a good diet, and workouts that make you sweat a bit Smile hopefully this thread will help your abs come through Smile
@Smellyoulateralligator you’re so welcome , need any help /have any queries then just shout up on this thread 💛
@Storm4star I’m so pleased too ,and happy you want to get involved ☺️ it’s been so motivating for me personally too , enthusiasm is contagious so thank you all! xx

Stupid question but are protein shakes fine whilst breastfeeding?

scrumpledtitskin · 20/09/2018 10:09

Ooh, I'm in please. I'm about two stone heavier than I ought to be, and woefully unfit. I'll be following and taking bits and pieces that work for me hopefully.

No need for revenge, but I have a Christmas party I'd like to be able to wear a dress for.

Have a free gym I can use at work, not been in it for 6 months! 🙈🔫
I already breakfast and lunch heavier and only have a light tea, if anything at all, so will stick to that for now.

Thanks for starting this.

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 10:09

@crispysausagerolls I think it all depends on the ingredients that the brand of protein uses , which you can find on the back of the packaging . I know you can get organic based protein shakes that they used to sell at costco but I’d recommend checking with your doctor first to make sure it’s all ok ☺️ Xx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 10:17

@scrumpledtitskin you’re so welcome & glad to have you with us ! Smile the free gym sounds amazing , definitely capitalise on that xx

What are your thoughts on intermittent fasting ie, skipping breakfast and just having water and green tea in its place, having a large lunch and a few snacks and dinner and water and green tea again after 7/8pm. I've seen lots about it on Instagram, is it a fad?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 20/09/2018 10:56

@3littlesandme hello ☺️, well because 5 days out of seven I go to the gym I wouldn’t do intermittent fasting as my body needs the energy , also muscle in your body uses protein to develop , if I was to start skipping food my muscles wouldn’t develop.
I think people use this as a somewhat crash diet , which is cool if it works for them but personally I recommend a healthy diet and a consistent work out routine xx

3littlesandme · 20/09/2018 11:03

Thanks for clearing it up. I want consistency.
I'm off grocery shopping soon, going to try not to pick up junk food Blush
