Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Hi all.
Lovely day here. Missed half of it as slept in. Didn't sleep till after 3am.

Been to beach with ds2 scrabbling around rocks and guddling in rock pools😀 then spent couple of £ in amusements and got chippy tea to bring home.

Jane did you get a pm about your IBS? They got wrong person and sent me one😀

Try not to let your mum get you down.

Chasingsquirrels · 18/07/2017 18:51

Jane, hope you have had a better day.

Willow, sounds like you've had a good day ☺.

I've started pressure washing the other part of the patio this afternoon, done between the slabs so just need to clean off the slabs themselves now.

Ds2 gone bowling with the yr6's as aeaving treat.
Ds1 at jogging club.
Both should be home soonish.

Struggling atm.

YourselfOrSomeoneLikeYou · 18/07/2017 20:07

Not stopped all day! Just sending you a quick hug squirrel, will be in bed with painkillers for my poor legs/feet in 5 if you fancy chatting rubbish. Just got to speak to my mum 1st. Had hoped tonskype but not working their end for day 3 now...

YourselfOrSomeoneLikeYou · 18/07/2017 20:45

Just typed a really long message with messages to you all and technology won't play ball!

Squirrel I hope the boys are home and have given you a hug.

bookbook · 18/07/2017 20:52

Evening all
finally sat down with a welcome cup of tea- had DGS obviously, then everyone for tea, then dashed off to a committee meeting. Have walked home with a nice cool breeze
Chasing - there isn't much I can say that will help, but sending you strength and thinking of you Flowers
Willow - sounds wonderful, I love rock pooling :) but I must admit I didn't sleep too well either - far too warm, but hopefully cooler tonight.
Cake - hugs for you too - bad feet and legs? - Around here we tend to use facetime with family, which is pretty reliable , but you do need a mac/iphone I suppose.
Have to go and water in the greenhouse and my hanging basket , and a bit early to bed I think.
I am off shopping with DD2 tomorrow , and then have to be home to drive son in law home, as he is leaving his car at ours while they are away on holiday.

Chasingsquirrels · 18/07/2017 21:29

Hope the painkillers have kicked in cake.

Boys home, fed and just had chocolate peanut butter mugcake - I had mine with raspberry sorbet.

Ds2 wasn't happy when he got home, couldn't get anything out of him then a cuddle and floods of tears - something about a nightmare last night about John and I sitting in the chair and then John's cancer being cut out after he died and him being brought back to life.

bookbook · 18/07/2017 21:56

Obviously preying on his mind - poor DS2 , but at least he was able to tell you, and you could comfort him.
Its so hard Chasing - for you and him

Willow2017 · 18/07/2017 23:55

Evening all.
squirrels poor boy am glad he opened up to you so you could discuss his dream and comfort him although it's hard for you too.
Saw you on David's thread never mind what the poster said I don't think she meant you and what you said didn't come across as you were offended either don't know what she was on. You need to concentrate on you sometimes and not always be thinking of supporting others.

Ds2 in bath as his back was suddenly very sore. Think its brcsuse he was just sitting on sofa with me watching t.v but with bad posture. Had Calpol and sent of for warm bath.

cake hope the painkillers worked.

book I should have watered garden too but completely forgot. You are making me feel guilty😀

Have a good night everyone hope you sleep book

Chasingsquirrels · 19/07/2017 07:31

Thanks Willow. Hope your ds2's back is better this morning.

Thunderstorm in the night, and torrential rain - and I watered my pots yesterday afternoon, duh!

Not sure ds2 discussed it with me exactly, more of a snotty howl.
Then last night I dreamt that I had to go and report he wasn't actually dead - about a week after the event, it was all about the legalities that had to be fulfilled and not about John, who wasn't even in the dream. Thanks for that ds2! I almost never dream, or never remember them anyway.

bookbook · 19/07/2017 08:16

Morning all
Cool and breezy here, but we haven't had any rain , and we could do with some.
Willow - hope DS's back is better today .
Didn't really sleep any better last night, really not sure why . Just sat waiting for DD2 to text - she is dropping her car off for an MOT , and I am picking her up and we are off to the shops. I don't need anything, she wants me to help her. Flattered ?- or running back with different sizes/colours? Grin
Chasing - thats the worst bit isn't it - it churns you up as well while dealing with it ((hugs)). Hope you can find strength to relax and not stress about it.
Hope everyone else is okay Selena , Juan and Jane - hoped you managed to get your problems dealt with too
Have a good day all

Chasingsquirrels · 19/07/2017 09:01

Thanks book, not churned up about it - just didn't have the best sleep as a result.
I'm not a massive shopper - but I do like going with my mum for her company. Have a good day.

Cloudy and overcast here but forecast says clear and hot later.

Off to work ...

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 19/07/2017 14:05

Hello all

Just had a loooong day with a lot of walking/standing/rushing so I did ache like a good un!

Disturbed night here too due to the thunder and rain and a busy morning from opening eyes to 1:30 getting in again. Now chilling with a DVD on and counting down to 5:15 when my holiday starts!

Big hug Squirrel I'm sorry that DS2 was so upset. Hope you are both feeling a bit better.

Waves to everyone else...the slave driver is demanding I deliver more marshmallows - like a cinema with a waitress! Wink

Willow2017 · 19/07/2017 18:06

Hi all.

Thanks Ds2's bath seemed to help although he was coughing a good un through the night, checked his temp to be sure it wasnt a chest infection causing the pain at the bottom of his lungs but thankfully ok. Full of cold today though.

Bit of a lazy day here.
Doing paperwork I have been avoiding, like last months accounts, tax credits, even attempted my tax return but forgot my access stuff so will have to wait for new ones in post(yeah!) and forms for high school etc.

Been job hunting and applied for a couple. I cant believe the crap some application forms have on them...in desperation I applied for a job in a care home laundry. Now having worked as a nurse in care homes for years I am perfectly aware what goes on in one... you would think I was applying for the managers job! "What aspect of the job made you apply for it" What aspect appeals to you" "What experience have you in this job you can offer" Its a smelly, hot, tiring job, I am under no illusions what the job entails (we would muck in when needed so I know!). There is no way to make it better apart from bullshitting them (which I did, made it sound like the cornerstone of the nursing home Grin!) Also one for a famous frozen foods place. I really am not fussed about which job but its annoying that the jobsites all proclaim all these jobs when half of them are for Avon reps and teachers and delivery drivers for all hours, or jobs in the other end of the country despite the postcode catchment! Sorry off on a rant there.

Other than washing etc been lazy, trying to summon up the energy to clean the bathroom out Wink Overcast and not so hot today, threatening rain too, maybe get it overnight.

Kids been grazing all day but I suppose I had better feed them properly, got some turkey mince I need to use up, will have 'healthy' burgers for tea Smile

Slept a bit better, not enough but better.

Oh &&&&&&& just realised its Wednesday! DS2 has his martial arts and I have drunk a 1/2 glass of wine on an empty stomach! Oh bugger. I am sure he wont be devastated but I am cross he will miss it cos of me. (yes I am that lightweight these days that I can feel I have drunk half a glass) And as there is a place on the way that the police often pull people over to do census stuff, I am not prepared to risk it (In Scotland = NO alchohol limit) Oh well so much for a relaxing pm sipping on wine without a care in the world as its the hols, mega guilt trip time. Anyone else ever feel like they screw up this parenting lark on a regular basis?

Cake hope you can take something for the aches and pains, I am the same, knackered back and shoulders which like to remind me they are there regularly Smile

OOh marshmallows, are you making smores, toasting or just eating?

Have a lovely evening all.

Willow2017 · 19/07/2017 18:08

P.S.
Am not knocking Avon reps btw.
We have a local one been doing it for years so I would even attempt to become one as she is very popular. BUT she doesnt do it for a living, she has a full time job too so that tells you how much she makes from it Smile

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 19/07/2017 19:53

Hey job hunting is hard work and demoralising in itself.

We just ate some. DS had a friend round yesterday and they're halaal so I just bought a few different packet foods so mum could OK them or not.

I've done some pilates this evening and feel a bit better after a slightly quieter day.

I'm no good at drinking either and wouldn't drink and drive either.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/07/2017 22:09

Good luck with the job hunting Willow.
Don't bear yourself up about the wine, it's the holidays x

I invited my parents over for a bbq then let the kids toast marshmallows with the flamethrower. Then ds1 made smores.

bookbook · 19/07/2017 22:55

Evening
Had a nice day - only bought lunch - not so much restrained, as not seeing anything I really wanted to buy :)
DD2 here until son in law turned up at 4 - so took her to pick up her car, then drove son in law home, and stayed for tea at DD1's, so nothing done at all this evening ...
Willow - job hunting is soul destroying , and so right about all the 'non-jobs' - hope you find something soon, and to your taste .
Well, actually quite weary, so off to bed
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

Somerville · 19/07/2017 23:03

Found you all again.

Sorry to hear about DS2's nightmare, and your resulting dream, Squirrels. I find dreams about DH1 so disconcerting. I never want to go to sleep the next few nights after one.

Hope all doing okay. Love to juan, whoever's in touch.
Have we heard how selenas doing? She's in my thoughts a lot.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 20/07/2017 06:38

Morning all

Somer no news from Selena in the last few days. I'm hoping she's OK too.

book I'm sure it doesn't matter if you didn't get anything done. Time with family is so precious.

willow hope DS2's cold is better today.

Squirrel DS doesn't like any BBQ food and won't toast a marshmallow - missing out big time, but I'm sure he'll come round...

DS and I are having a leisurely start - he's watching minecraft and I'm on here. Off to shoe shop and taking him to the Drs

This afternoon I will be packing and cleaning. We set off tomorrow morning once I've collected DD from the dark side. Will be taking laptop and iPad with me, so no getting rid of me!

hugs to all

Morning all.
Better day here had rain last night.
Lazy day so far had cuddle and snooze with ds2 this am and haven't done anything since😀

Pushing myself upstairs for shower and get on with housework. Got nametags to put on school uniforms later. Might even manage to take forms to high school😀 may take kids to pool when we do that. I will have to summon up the courage to wear my dooker in public again!

Thinking of you all.

bookbook · 20/07/2017 10:35

Morning all
wet and drizzly here, so no veg picking, or hanging washing out.
Instead, about to have a good go in the living room - sorting out a lot of DGS toys which are stacked up in a willow basket. We had a little discussion of some baby toys which he didn't play with anymore, and with great charity, I am allowed to give away a plastic hammer ( but not his favourite) and a baby animal noise thing which he loves/hates ... a very small dent in the boxes of stuff which he insists he loves, but never plays with ... :).
Other than that, its an easy day, with a trip to the library and some baking I think .
Cake - hope the packing goes well - DD 1 is packing today - she does it with a spreadsheet Grin
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 20/07/2017 12:04

Spoke too soon! Came downstairs in shorts and summer top and it's cloudy and drizzling! Ahhh.

Lol at the packing. I have a notebook and lists for everything. It gets checked and received till the night before them then I shut the cases and try to stop panicking I have forgotten something important 😀 of course it was my fault ds1 didnt have a belt with him on holiday😀😀

Willow2017 · 20/07/2017 12:05

Rechecked not received!!

DramaAlpaca · 20/07/2017 12:22

Hello all. I'm not posting on the thread much at the moment, but I'm reading every day & enjoying hearing about everyone's goings-on. Hope everyone is OK.

It's a nice day here - between the showers, that is. It's cooler and less muggy than it has been.

Willow good luck with the job hunting.

Cake hope you have a lovely holiday & manage to get some sleep!

Chasing sorry to hear about DS's nightmare & your dream. I suppose it's your subconscious processing stuff, but upsetting dreams can leave you feeling very shaky & upset for a while afterwards.

I dropped DS1 & DS2 off at work today. They work at the same place and today one of them was feeling ill & the other was hungover. There was much bickering in the car because the sick one was grumbling that nobody would believe he was unwell because his brother was hungover Confused

bookbook · 20/07/2017 12:35

well
ending up quite busy with cleaning living room, but noticed it had stopped raining and there was a goodly breeze. So ran and pegged out some washing. All good - sat down just now , (an hour later) - looked up and it is raining properly again gah - do I get wet and go and fetch it, or hope it stops raining ( not looking likely...) .I hate drying sheets in a tumble dryer.

Willow - best laid plans and all!
Drama - hungover on a weekday Grin -the youth today!
Well, dashing out now to retrieve washing - a nice fresh rain water rinse ....
