How would you feel? (Stag do)

DiamondShine · 01/07/2017 00:50

In a close circle of friends, all couples, the lads are currently on a stag weekend abroad so us girls got together to for takeaway and drinks tonight.

How would you feel if your the only person who hasn't heard from your man since they landed yesterday afternoon? Literally radio silence.

Well the op does now know he's got there OK :)

MiniMaxi · 01/07/2017 07:39

I would worry as usually we text regularly - less when one of us is travelling but quick updates when we land, get to hotel etc.

But that's just us, if you don't do that then you have nothing to worry about and there's no change in behaviour!

Quimby · 01/07/2017 07:52

I'd probably text on arrival as my wife gets a bit anxious about that.

Other than that I'd probably text in the morning to let her know I was still alive.

We text a bit on a daily basis but that's because we have quiet/boring periods during the day, when we're away with mates then it's pretty much radio silence as you're busy socialising and having fun.

TheNaze73 · 01/07/2017 07:54

*So you are sorted, you know your partner. He's having a good time. Rise above the needy crew.

This exactly

mylittlepony6 · 01/07/2017 07:58

My DH went away for nearly a week last year and hardly got in touch at all. I was a bit upset so I told him that ages after he came back when it came up. He went away this year and got in touch alot. We have three DC so I think it's important.
I think if something upsets you, why can't you you say?

Barbaro · 01/07/2017 08:13

I would have expected a text to say he was there but you know that as the others got there. Other than that i am usually telling my boyfriend to stop texting me and go have fun as he usually over texts (think it's a habit from his previous relationship where she wanted to know where he was every second of the day).

Ellapaella · 01/07/2017 08:27

I recently went away on a weekend with friends and only really texted my dh to see if the kids were alright. I wouldn't of been in touch with him otherwise. I would expect him to at least touch base once to ask after the kids (and he'd want to speak to them if he was away for a long weekend) but not to have a long chat and certainly no regular updates about what he was doing etc. If it's normal for you then I wouldn't be worrying about what others think.

Tinkerbec · 01/07/2017 09:18

I would be hurt but my partner would know this as he knows I love texting.

As the poster above said one message to say arrived safely, off out soon sending love takes less than 30 seconds.

I would expect fewer texts than normal but at least a couple a day that's all.

All relationships are different though and as others have said. What is your normal?

DiamondShine · 01/07/2017 09:28

Morning everyone,

Sorry it's taken so long to get back, dealing with a grumpy teether this morning. I had had a couple of glasses of wine and just worried last night that it meant something may be wrong in our relationship.

It's our first time apart for more than one night so can't really comment on what's the norm. We would usually send a few texts to each other day to day. It is odd that he hasn't been in touch to see how Baby is as he is very hands on. This does annoy me a little as she hasn't been herself for a few days prior to him leaving but I tell him this when he gets home. Don't want to ruin his time away.

I'm pleased he's having a good time enough not to be attached to his phone all the time though. My biggest pet hate is seeing people "having such a great night out" yet need their phone surgically removed from their hands.

I never really get the 'arrived safe' texts. I mean if there was a plane crash you'd hear about it!
The only time I ask my bf to text me he's arrived is when he's working away and that's only because he's told me about some of his work colleagues driving on the motorway, and you can guarantee on the day he's travelling I'll hear loads of car accidents on the radio.

Probably because we don't text much OP, but I think it's a sign of a strong relationship, I don't need 'miss you' texts or updates on what he's doing to reassure me and that's not a bad thing. Even now we have dd, I wouldn't expect to hear from him on a weekend away, longer and I'd like a phone call or FaceTime midway through to check in.

I do wonder if the other partners texting are doing so because they desperately want to contact there OH's or because they know they'll get it the neck when they get home if they don't.

Emboo19 · 01/07/2017 10:07

Oh and my boyfriend works away a fair bit and tells me tales of his colleagues indiscretions.
One that always amazes him, is one guy who is constantly phoning and texting his OH, to the point he's been told off at work about it and the other guys take the mick as it's all 'I love you' 'I miss you'. Then he's visiting massage parlours every night and not for a massage!!

DiamondShine · 02/07/2017 11:15

It's safe to say after the live videos posted on FB late last night, I'm going to kill him!

OP posts:
Emboo19 · 02/07/2017 11:23

Oh no Diamond what was he doing?
Have you heard from him at all?

Lulu1083 · 02/07/2017 11:24

Why what's happened OP?

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 02/07/2017 11:26

Why?

DiamondShine · 02/07/2017 11:32

Any idea how I can save it incase it gets deleted?

Random videos of their drunken antics and in the background of one, he's a little too close for comfort with some girl.

OP posts:
DiamondShine · 02/07/2017 11:33

No contact whatsoever

Emboo19 · 02/07/2017 11:36

Can you film it from another phone/iPad etc or screen shot it?
How close are you talking dancing or kissing or worse?

Dirty dancing! Chatting I have no issue with you but the dancing isn't on!

If I didn't know these people including him and saw that it's embarrassing to watch! And this is man who couldn't talk to woman.

I will film on my phone from the laptop.

When is he due back?

DiamondShine · 02/07/2017 11:49

Sometime tomorrow around lunch time.

ImperialBlether · 02/07/2017 11:53

It seems like it's out of sight, out of mind, doesn't it?

I can't imagine going away when I have a young child and not checking that everything's OK.

Veterinari · 02/07/2017 11:59

I think the fact that he's not bothered to contact you or at least check in on his DD is pretty crap tbh.
I'm not entirely surprised by your update though Flowers for you. It sadly does seem like out of sight, out of mind

DiamondShine · 02/07/2017 12:05

I feel so humiliated and no idea how to deal with this.
