Meeting old flame for first time in 20 years

Feeling really excited and miserable at the same time. Contacted 1st ever boyfriend (2 year relationship) on FR and have now arranged to meet up in 2 weeks. He is married too and has been responding to my emails enthusiastically (was originally just lunch now seems to be sacrificing his whole day for me). Problem is I v unhappy with DH at the moment and feel confused. Old boyfriend mega successful barrister, rich, good looking etc.DH bit of a loser, bitter, angry and bad tempered. Should I meet OB or not?

ahhh coddy, now I understand your text!

would never describe dh as a bit of a loser, bitter, angry and bad tempered - he is in fact exactly the opposite, a complete star and sweetie and I don't think has ever lost his temper once...

enjoy your lunch shopaholic - but take only ONE glass of champagne and NO PHYSICAL CONTACT AT ALL!

gettingthere · 30/06/2004 00:19

shopaholic - how are you

codswallop · 02/07/2004 16:57

best of luck shopaholic. we'll be thinking of you

OldieMum · 03/07/2004 18:28

Shopaholic - what are your thoughts now about the effect of all this on his wife and unborn child? Just wondering, as many people commented on this earlier on in this thread.

gettingthere · 04/07/2004 17:15

shopaholic - how did you get on?

gettingthere · 04/07/2004 21:05

shopaholic - are you home yet???

jampot · 04/07/2004 21:19

Gettingthere - give them a chance - he's a barrister - they'll only just be finishing lunch

Seriously - WHERE ARE YOU?

Tessiebear · 04/07/2004 21:48

Havnt read all the other messages but its one of those "i know i shouldnt but cant resist" situations. Treat it as a day away from your ordinary life and have a bit of fun, but at the end of the day you should probably forget all about it and arrange to meet in 10 yrs time

gettingthere · 04/07/2004 23:14

jampot - you're right - just the suspense is killing me!

jampot · 05/07/2004 11:25

Shopaholic - are you there today?

posyhairdresser · 05/07/2004 16:57

She has eloped

wobblyknicks · 05/07/2004 16:58

Hope not - and hope she's not still in bed after escaping with her old boyfriend!!

shopaholic · 05/07/2004 17:01

I have not eloped. I returned home safe and sound last night after a fantastic lunch - absolutely the icing on the cake was meeting Gordon Ramsey at the restaurant. YES I am still sexy and desirable!!!! Self esteem is much higher as ex said I looked fabulous and had hardly changed since I was 21 except I now have better clothes. FAB, fab day!

shopaholic · 05/07/2004 17:09

shopaholic - good for you. It has obviously given you a real lift. do we ask the obvious (nosy) question - no, not that one - but are you going to keep in touch?

princesspeahead · 06/07/2004 01:34

oooooooh dear. you are on a high. come back tomorrow/day after when you will be crashing down. this isn't good for your existing relationship....
