I don't know what to do. I work in a smallish team and we all get on really well. I was at university with my immediate boss about 10 years ago, we knew each other, but not all that well and I hadn't seen him until I started this job last year. I have just come out of a 5 year relationship and he has been single for the last year or so since his engagement broke up. We were working late to meet a dealine last night and were joking around, I have no idea what came over us but we were both being a little flirty and we ended up kissing. I went back to his apartment and we ended up in bed together. I never do this! Now I'm really worried about seeing him at work on Monday. Should I just act like it never happened or try and speak with him about it? I feel like a total idiot, and can't believe I did this.

Its like a book or a romance novel!! I really think it's only fair you compare him to some Hollywood actor so that (a) we can imagine the hero in this romance properly and (b) we can give him a name. Who does he look like op?

Whisky2014 · 07/11/2016 18:25

I like the story but it is a bit fast, no?!
Sorry to hear about your face, what a shame for you. Hope it heals quickly

JennyHolzersGhost · 07/11/2016 18:38

Gosh how dramatic your life has become OP. I hope it returns to boring normality! Get well soon.

FunSponge82 · 07/11/2016 18:45

however their relationship pans out it is much better that OPs work reviews etc are looked after by someone else.

That way they cannot be accused of being unprofessional. I'm sure someone somewhere would say there was a conflict of interest if pay reviews were carried out between a couple.

Ohyesiam · 07/11/2016 18:56

You sound very lovely, and I'm really happy for you.

MrFMercury · 07/11/2016 18:56

Punching aside, this is just so lovely :)
Also that is one of my favourite Toby quotes too.

ddrmum · 07/11/2016 19:00

Hope you're not too sore OP! Thats so shocking but glad it was in front of an audience Angry Happy that Mr Lovely is looking after you & make sure that fukker is also billed for those 'complete with puke ' shoes!! Get well soonFlowers

I think "dating" was just something better to say than we decided to jump each other. Following the collective wisdom of MN is not going to panic or overthink. Didn't want to get in trouble at a later date, and if it all fizzles out or goes wrong it's not public knowledge as such, just who "needs" to know knows. That's the logic anyway. Genuinely I'm not usually this flighty, but I'm just trying to go with the flow. He's just told me getting punched in the face might be Karma since I've been having pre-marital relations (smart ass). Think I'm going to be allowed to go home soon so long as I can find someone to look after me tonight to make sure my brain doesn't fall out etc. Thanks for all the support and calming influences. Deep breathes. Grin

You're in a VERY good mood for someone who has just been lapped round the chops and resulting in concussion Grin

Must have been some shag!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 07/11/2016 19:20

I certainly do hope the puncher has had the book thrown at him. I wish you a speedy recovery and lots if TLC from your lovely new boyfriend!

WicksEnd · 07/11/2016 19:20

Slapped! Not lapped!

UnoriginalNN · 07/11/2016 19:21

I love this thread!!! Congratulations OP

UnoriginalNN · 07/11/2016 19:22

(Sorry you've been assaulted though - really hope the fucker gets done for it)

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/11/2016 19:25

You will need someone with you when you get home, and I suspect that after the drugs have worn off, you'll feel it! Stock up on painkillers and food that is easy to eat, eg soup, and no snogging!

I love that you have kept your sense of humour throughout. Really sorry about your ruined tights though Wink.

RobinBanksisInnocent · 07/11/2016 19:44

Blimey OP, like how you just slipped in the assault as an aside to 'is him coming to see me normal'?!

Sorry about the injuries (prepare for the shock of that to catch up with you) - luckily sounds like you'll have someone to bring tea and sympathy Wink

DOTLEYtheONEeyedDINO · 07/11/2016 20:00

This has it all. Sorry about the cheekbone/eye-socket etc, but this has made me so happy. Think I have little tears! Who's looking after you tonight...

HaveILostMyMind · 07/11/2016 20:51

PP is correct, the loss of the tights is the worst part! I think actually the shock has hit, I can't stop shaking and feeling slightly panicked. I can't believe that actually happened! Apparently there actually is CCTV footage but I definitely don't want to see that. Good news is I shouldn't need surgery so it's really not all that bad. My brother is going to come stay after he finishes work. Lovely boss has gone to get some stuff from work and is going to come back and take me home and do some work whilst I have a snooze. Not weird at all.

Lovely story apart from being smacked of course!

Underchipsandpeas · 07/11/2016 22:51

Wow! So very sorry you've taken such a smack! How awful! But! I think it'll bring out the protective side of The Boss, and make him even keener! Hope you're ok. How exciting!!!

wideboy26 · 07/11/2016 23:01

Don't mean to out you, but are you either a criminal or matrimonial lawyer then?

Underchipsandpeas · 07/11/2016 23:09

Or a social worker.

SallyR0se · 07/11/2016 23:16

Aw, I met a lovely couple who met at work (and still work together, at a small company) at a wedding recently. Good luck x

dollylucy · 07/11/2016 23:23

Sounds very sore
But lovely romance beginning!

EBearhug · 08/11/2016 01:46

Sorry to hear about the assault - hope you get well soon and the concussion goes quickly.
