"Accidentally" slept with my boss (face palm)

I don't know what to do. I work in a smallish team and we all get on really well. I was at university with my immediate boss about 10 years ago, we knew each other, but not all that well and I hadn't seen him until I started this job last year. I have just come out of a 5 year relationship and he has been single for the last year or so since his engagement broke up. We were working late to meet a dealine last night and were joking around, I have no idea what came over us but we were both being a little flirty and we ended up kissing. I went back to his apartment and we ended up in bed together. I never do this! Now I'm really worried about seeing him at work on Monday. Should I just act like it never happened or try and speak with him about it? I feel like a total idiot, and can't believe I did this.

Flowers A 'good news' thread. Delighted for you.

Oh what a fantastic thread, good luck OP!

Don't think we're going to come out at work. The teasing would be merciless I think.

Despite both your best efforts, it will eventually come out (people are good at picking up on body language and atmosphere) and when it does, I hope there aren't accusations of favoritism.
I'm pleased it's working out well, but you need to tread carefully - I know you and are in that fuzzy loved up phase, but I hope it doesn't wreck things at work for you.
Some work places can be funny about these things.

Super happy for you. He sounds lovely! Enjoy x

Shayelle · 06/11/2016 15:16

Awww,,, eeeek!!! Flowers for you op. He sounds fab.. vege curry, yum - lucky you. This sounds like a healthy start (in more ways than one) Have fun 😊

Dessert: ice cream and a brownie.

Work wise we all have our own cases, he's just the one that gets yelled at if something goes wrong and then who has to yell at us after. There aren't too many times we are all together as a team, a weekly review on a Friday and a Monday meeting so I'll just avoid pinching his lovely bum at these public events Grin jokes. I can apply for my own team next year so that would put us on the same level, but otherwise I'm hopeful we can keep it low key. I'm not going to lose my head and tank my career but feeling like I made a good mistake with my loose-ness Grin Off to shave my legs pre dinner so that they'll be all smoothy smoothy when I don't sleep with him because I have self control. One "ONS" and I'm suddenly all sexually liberated but not really

❤️ Lovely! Work sounds like it's going to be ok too- if he's moved in the new year and you get a team, sounds like it will work out perfectly. Good luck with the new relationship, I hope it works out really, really well for you. And enjoy tonight's "dinner"!

What a lovely thread! Am really happy for you OP.

DH and I worked for the same company (different locations) and then due to various things I ended up moving to be in his team. We've been together 15 years and married for 11. Can honestly say he's my best friend and my world.

Enjoy tonight!

Nocabbageinmyeye · 06/11/2016 17:53

I only happened upon this now and flicked for the update and did a little "yay", it's so nice to see a nice thread in relationships, I can sense the excitement even from you, ah I'd love that again, I'm jealous 😂 enjoy op

PirateFairy45 · 06/11/2016 17:54

Get over it, it's sex.

Btw by accidentally, do you mean you skipped and fell on his dick? I've done that a few times with DH. Silly me.

Just go off his lead. If you've not spoken since personally I'd take it as it isn't going far at all xx

Dozer · 06/11/2016 17:54

If there are rules at your employer you'll need to disclose the relationship to HR. Unfair to others, eg if he has an influence on appraisal / redundancy decisions.
