"Accidentally" slept with my boss (face palm)

I don't know what to do. I work in a smallish team and we all get on really well. I was at university with my immediate boss about 10 years ago, we knew each other, but not all that well and I hadn't seen him until I started this job last year. I have just come out of a 5 year relationship and he has been single for the last year or so since his engagement broke up. We were working late to meet a dealine last night and were joking around, I have no idea what came over us but we were both being a little flirty and we ended up kissing. I went back to his apartment and we ended up in bed together. I never do this! Now I'm really worried about seeing him at work on Monday. Should I just act like it never happened or try and speak with him about it? I feel like a total idiot, and can't believe I did this.

How awful! Shock

Puking on his shoes isn't the most romantic but I think he'll be more concerned.

Hope you're okay OP and given some lovely pain meds. Chocolate

Goingtobeawesome · 07/11/2016 14:04

I'm happy about your new man being lovely but very sorry you've been assaulted.

Mildinsanity · 07/11/2016 14:04

oh no Im sure he can understand the vomiting very sweet he came to see you though... hope you heal quickly and the bastard that did it doesnt see outside a prison cell for a good few years.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/11/2016 14:12

Fractured eye socket and cheekbone? Ouch!! That's awful.Shock
What a terrible thing to have happened. Get well soon Flowers

SchnooSchnoo · 07/11/2016 14:20

Wow! So sorry you got assaulted. At least no one is in any doubt about what sort of man your client's ex is, and that you manage to help her get the result she deserves.

And good luck with the boss!

bulldogmum · 07/11/2016 14:21

Loved this thread. Awful about the eye socket and cheek and hope you get better! Good luck with your new relationship...so exciting!

KnittingPearl · 07/11/2016 14:24

I can just imagine the picture:

"Grandpa, when did you realise Granny was the one for you?"

"Well, it was when she threw up on me"

(No pressure or anything!)

I'm so sorry you've been hurt, but glad client's ex did it in such company rather than when you were alone.

I'm also very glad he (boss) is with you - entirely appropriate for him to be there as a boss, though I'm sure he also wants to be there for you personally. Take care, and I hope you mend soon.

WhatHaveIFound · 07/11/2016 14:37

What a start to a relationship!

I'd just come on to post that i'd slept with my boss once and that we're now coming up to 25yrs married with 2 DC.

Hope you have a similar happy ending (and that his shoes clean up!).

Queenbean · 07/11/2016 15:03

Shit me this thread has a lot of twists and turns! Delighted for you re the man and hope you get better soon!

wowwee123 · 07/11/2016 15:06

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/11/2016 15:15

Bloody Nora HaveI, hope you're ok. Your assailant obviously isn't very clever is he?

hellsbellsmelons · 07/11/2016 15:30

Good grief - those are some injuries.
But you still have your sense of humour which is great.
I hope you recover quickly.
Sounds amazingly painful!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 07/11/2016 15:35

Flowers for you OP.

This kind of thing is amongst the reasons why he should disclose the situation to HR and could well both be in trouble if you don't.

I do agree with this. I have known situations in the past where it has come back and bit people down the line.

OohhThatsMe · 07/11/2016 15:38

That sounds incredibly painful, OP.

My own fault for sticking my head in front of a fist. I can only hope the CCTV makes it look heroic at least 😂 Wouldn't recommend it though. He spoke with his senior partner today and told him we had "started dating" 😊 (How cute is that) So all my pay and evaluation stuff has to be transferred and I have to sign a no bum pinching in the work place contract, but otherwise he doesn't sound like he was all that bothered about the whole thing. They gave me lots of painkillers a little bit ago because my little loved up hormone must have worn off and now I'm all giddy. No guarantees this is coherent. Also, so many of you seducing your bosses out there 😂

Had to de-lurk jut to say congrats OP, glad things worked out better than anticipated so far. Terrible you got punched though, you heal up ok and good luck.

FunSponge82 · 07/11/2016 17:04

You have to keep us updated now we're all shamelessly following your post x

FurryLittleTwerp · 07/11/2016 17:29

Oh your poor face Sad

What a twat - clearly knows how to help himself Confused

I love the no-bum-pinching clause Grin

KnittingPearl · 07/11/2016 17:40

Glad it's all out in the open and above board. Snort at "no bum pinching" clause. I hope you stay merrily hormoned/drugged up, and please keep us updated (have no life, need to live vicariously. Obviously accept it is none of my business...)

seminakedinsomebodyelsesroom · 07/11/2016 18:01

Wow h things have progressed a fuck of a lot since I last rtft! Poor you OP, so sorry you have been assaulted but an also loving how your romance has progressed Smile

Queenbean · 07/11/2016 18:02

Gosh op, that's pretty quick for him to have told senior management about you two already, just 2 days in surely! Was there any reason why he didn't hold back - or have you both discussed how sure of your feelings you are and just thought to go for it?

MsVanRein · 07/11/2016 18:08

Omg OP Shock you poor thing that's awful. What a horrible man, hope he's prosecuted and that your lovely face is on the mend asap.

How lovely of boss man/now bf to drop everything he sounds lovely Smile
