My fb has made no secret of the fact he enjoys getting stoned once in a while. I make no judgement about this, each to their own. I have never touched drugs or anything ever, not once. I don't smoke & barely drink. Last night he was telling me how good it feels & said 'I bet you'd be incredible stoned' Hmm (meaning for sex obviously). My question is this: wwyd? I'm interested to hear your opinions. I was brought up to avoid all that stuff but should I give it a go once, for the experience? Or is it a really stupid juvenile thing to do? My personal thought is I'd rather be 'present' for good sex & not pissed out of my mind. I'm really naive here.

Toffee - for the record Marijuana doesn't make you a better shag, but it "could" make the shag better for you.

Toffeelatteplease · 09/09/2015 13:52

Hmm like that was relevant to the point

Mondrian · 09/09/2015 13:54

I thought so - misinformation, bias and all that!

Charis1 · 09/09/2015 13:56

what is important is the simplistic view some express that blames one cause for all social problems It is the single biggest cause of all social problems I have seen in my working life, nothing could be clearer than that. I have also experienced the damage done in my private life, including a relative being killed in the violence associated with cannabis, the violence so many people would have you believe doesn't exist......

Toffeelatteplease · 09/09/2015 14:01

So could a decent boyfriend. That would be my preferred point of call before developing a new bad habit

Mondrian · 09/09/2015 14:07

Marijuana is easier to come by than a decent boyfriend.

And decent boyfriends don't necessarily translate to decent lovers!

Toffeelatteplease · 09/09/2015 14:10

You may have a point there Grin

Rather have a vibrator than either a spliff or a shitty boyfriend Wink

Mondrian · 09/09/2015 14:14

And failing educational system, parents, politicians, health system, bankers ... take a back seat to evils of Marijuana?

Charis1 · 09/09/2015 14:23

And failing educational system, parents, politicians, health system, bankers ... take a back seat to evils of Marijuana

yes, absolutly, the amount of strain that marijuana puts on the education system is unbearable, millions and millions would be freed up, if this problem was eradicated, not to mention children would be fit to learn.

Ever tried teaching a stoned class Mondrian? it isn't possible.

not to mention the dreadful impact that dope smoking parents have on the mental and physical health, and special educational needs of children right down to nursery age, who don't actually smoke themselves,

not to mention the massive impact it has on child neglect, ranging from simple lack of interest in a child's education, right up to criminal levels of neglect, all of which impact hugely on a child's motivation, consistency, realiability, and eventual outcomes,

And yes, politicians are ignoring the situation, because it is out of control, and they don't know what to say. I have more than once had a question accepted at a public event to ask a politician what they plan to do about it, only to be told the politician themselves have cancelled that particular question when they have been shown the list.

( yes, I'm looking at you Boris. You are not the only one, but you passed an instruction back not to have that question asked live, when I already had the microphone in my hand and was 5 seconds away from asking)

And again think of the millions and millions that the health service would be saved if only we got rid of this problem, and the improvement to the economy.

So yes, again, you can list all the problems you like, marijuana is implicated in m0st of them.

So you think cannabis is the root cause of all these problems and if only we eradicated it, the problems would vaporize ? You don't think cannabis use is a symptom rather than a cause in these cases

no I don't. cannabis contributes to all of these issues, and in many cases there is absolutly NOTHING that can be done. The only solution is for the cannabis ban, which does exist, despite what some people seem to think! to be RIGOROUSLY enforced. The situation is out of control, and it is going to take huge political will to get it back under control

Charis1 · 09/09/2015 15:21

Bring back the death penalty ? what are you on about? Just enforce the already standing cannabis ban.

Chillyegg · 09/09/2015 15:24

Personally op I wouldn't.
You clearly don't want to or you wouldn't of asked us if we would.
It smells.
It's affect in my experience makes people really boring.also if you don't smoke depending on how he rolls it will most certainly not be a nice experience.

Jux · 09/09/2015 18:16

I'd legalise all drugs, put in some quality control, and tax them to buggery.

I think OP has gone.

CaspoFungin · 09/09/2015 19:38

Charis, people take cannabis because of all those other problems! If it wasn't cannabis it would be something else, the reason the 'ban' isn't enforced strictly is because how is sending someone to prison for possession of a joint going to help their already crap life? It would make life harder, trying to get a job with a criminal record etc

CoteDAzur · 09/09/2015 20:03

" a relative being killed in the violence associated with cannabis"

Are we talking about the same substance that makes you melt into the couch, get all dreamy, and not give a toss about anything? What kind of violence do you think is "associated" with it?

You might be thinking of alcohol, which can easily turn otherwise gentle and reasonable people into aggressive assholes.

CoteDAzur · 09/09/2015 20:04

What kind of violence do you think is "associated" with it? and this is the problem, isn't it, people have these untrue assumptions about cannabis not being linked with violence

Cannabis exacerbates all these other problems hugely.Since when have we not prosecuted criminals in case it makes their lives worse?

marmaladenbacon · 09/09/2015 20:08

Op is still here Grin, taking it all in...

Sounds a bit like a playground squabble but I'm glad to hear all the pros & cons because as I said, I am/was naive. A bag of chips & a can of coke was as naughty as I ever got growing up. For the record, I am 45 & he is 47, no massive age gap & I haven't been put under any pressure. It's his occasional pleasure & he suggested I might enjoy it, that's all.

Pidapie · 09/09/2015 20:09

I have tried weed before, but if my other half asked me to get stoned for incredible shag, I still just wouldn't do it again. It's overrated and stupid.

CoteDAzur · 09/09/2015 20:10

"I'm not posting misinformation, I am posting my own experience"

You don't have any experience with cannabis, though, unless you've smoked some yourself.

What you have is experience with some kids in a classroom. Sounds like they are troubled kids, too, showing up stoned at school. So because they have a problem, you generalise this to the 14 million past and present users of cannabis in the UK and conclude that everyone must have a problem.

goawayalready · 09/09/2015 20:13

not rtft but on freedom we learn about abusers who get women addicted to drugs to control them

just throwing that in

also you might not like it many dont
