DP went away with his friends and kissed a girl.
I am trying not to be too pissed off.

I know it isn't a big deal but at the same time I'm gutted.

How seriously do you take something like that?

Who cares if it meant nothing to him? It certainly means something to the OP and so it bloody should!

If he trying to be so awful you ditch him coz he doesn't want to be the bad guy to leave? He sounds pretty non-plusses.

Life is too short to flog a dead horse with someone who couldn't give a shit about your feelings.

And what, you forgive him again? Until the next time when he pushes it further and admits to sleeping with someone.

Or he leaves you for someone else after destroying all of your self-esteem.

You are worth so much more. It's isn't a little thing and he has ended the marriage by being unfaithful.
