How long before you feel comfortable talking about 'anal' and such?

Been together about 3 and a half months. Known each other since April.
Started sleeping together two weeks into it. We have grown very close and done loads together other than sex obviously, we go out a lot and spend loads of time together. Especially lately as he's been sleeping at my house half the week.
Anyway - we've not broached the subject of anal but on a number of occasions, especially these past few weeks his hands have wandered around there but he's stopped short, once he was really drunk and went a little further than usual but I stopped him.

We've talked about loads of stuff, real personal stuff but we both seem too shy to actually bring this up!! Is that normal for just 3 months in?

Grin So boringly predictable. I'm supposed to go to bed terrified of losing my lover to another who will do threesomes with strap ons and anal

I can barely contain my anxiety

BethFairbright · 01/11/2012 22:37

seeker women's vaginas are designed to be penetrated, but their throats and rectums are no more designed for penetration than a man's.

Would love to hear Gransnet's verdict on the assertion that vanilla sex was objectionable in 1960 Grin

RowanMumsnet · 01/11/2012 22:38

Look I can see we're all having a lot of fun here. Lots of fun. Fun, fun, fun.

But all good things must come to an end.

Any chance you could move along?

MrsCantSayAnything · 01/11/2012 22:38

[quakes at the thought]

FunnysInLaJardin · 01/11/2012 22:39

brrbrrwinteriscoming · 01/11/2012 22:39

well lets hope not. I have actually seen a lot of people that I know on the sites. including a couple of married men whose wife has NO idea!

it is not something we agree with, and will not play with anyone who admits to it. but can see that some men are driven to it

MrsCantSayAnything · 01/11/2012 22:39

Ok RowanMumsnet

I'm off now!

RowanMumsnet · 01/11/2012 22:41

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 01/11/2012 22:42

Keep going brr, you're getting more endearing with every post.

I'll move along now though.

ToothbrushThief · 01/11/2012 22:43

AnyFucker · 01/11/2012 22:43

Careful, Rowan, while you attempt to keep us in order, your husband is trawling swinger sites. You have been warned !

brrbrrwinteriscoming · 01/11/2012 22:44

oh no! i am not endearing! Sad

if only you were AF! might put a smile on your cats bum faces

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/11/2012 22:45

I think the phrase you are looking for Rowan is haven't you got homes to go to where your husbands wait with farm animals and lube?

RowanMumsnet · 01/11/2012 22:45

@AnyFucker

Careful, Rowan, while you attempt to keep us in order, your husband is trawling swinger sites. You have been warned !

I have no husband! I am fully liberated from all fear!

Well, except spiders obvs

AnyFucker · 01/11/2012 22:45

What I find on here, as in RL, is the ones who yap about it to strangers are the ones getting fuck all

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/11/2012 22:46

Well, except spiders obvs I actually snorted with laughter then.

AnyFucker · 01/11/2012 22:46

Rowan, how about the bolt gun

You must fear the bolt gun

ToothbrushThief · 01/11/2012 22:47

Just stoppit all of you!

I'm laughing and refreshing and supposed to be asleep

RowanMumsnet · 01/11/2012 22:48

WTAF is a bolt gun?

Actually I don't want to know

Unless I'm allowed to use it on Saturday night shifts

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 01/11/2012 22:48

Step away AF. Its my turn with the spatula, but the whisk is all yours.

FastLoris · 01/11/2012 22:49

Talking from a man and dads point of view....for most men anal isn't a be all that I think some are suggesting here.

I'd agree with that. Most times I've talked to other straight men about it they've not been particularly fussed. Many are actively repelled by the idea. From what I gather, it seems to come in most useful for couples where the man has a smaller than usual todger (which may be why not so many men admit to doing it lol).

Also boys have always pressured girls to do more sexually than they wanted to, and that can be a problem regardless of what particular activity it is. I'm not sure the challenges involved in teaching girls about their right to self determination and assertiveness are that different now than they were when I grew up.

Different orifice, same issues.

seeker · 01/11/2012 22:49

Beth- I am afraid you may have missed the irony in my post. But don't worry- you seem not to be alone.......Although you may notnbe happy with the company you're in.

brrbrrwinteriscoming · 01/11/2012 22:49

haha! ok AF. obviously in RL I wouldn't want people to know what I get up to. However on here I couldn't care less! I thankfully would never socialise with you lot in RL so i don't have to be careful what I say because you are not able to out my life style.
