I feel like a right plonker for writing this but I need to get it out somewhere and don't really want to bring this out in RL.

I'm a married mum but have a daft crush on someone and I got it bad.

I feel really stupid. I know its normal to fancy people but I feel like a bloody teenager and can't stop thinking about him. My husband thinks it hilarious and its become a bit of a joke in the house, which is OK, but its pretty embarressing really. I mean I'm nearly 30, not 13 :(

I dreamt about this person last night (and yes as I'm about to type this I know how daft it sounds) but I woke up feeling like it was real and I 'miss him' now :s

I know it will eventually pass but just wanted to talk it out and get some reassurance that I'm not having a midlife crisis or some kind of meltdown?!

Surely its 'normal' to feel like this? Even at 30?

Oooh the bit when he demanded a large glass of something white, cold & alcoholic! Swoon!! Grin

nerdgirl72 · 06/07/2012 15:05

Glad to find this thread as I had a dream about John Bishop last night and now I love him. Not thought about him in that way before and I don't even think he's v funny, but heard him on Desert Island Discs and thought he sounded very sparkly-eyed and flirty. I think Kirsty fancied him.

One of many crushes, aged 39 they creep up on you! Others include Alexander Skarsgard (specifically in Generation Kill) and the bloke on the run in The Killing 2 whose name I don't even remember now, was obviously going through a Scandinavian phase. And Mark Cavendish.

oldwomaninashoe · 06/07/2012 16:19

Rufus Sewell, he is just too, too, beautiful.

Nenufar · 06/07/2012 16:30

My secret crush is Ryan Gosling. Amazed that no-one has mentioned him yet here. My husband teases me about it and I actually blush when he does.

Ryan is fab in 'Blue Valentine', although I do start to go off him in the latter part of it when he comes across as a heavy-drinking, possessive idiot.

When there was a lot of upheaval in my life I used to day dream about him quite a lot. Bit embarrassing really!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 06/07/2012 16:39

a little bit at John Bishop.

Skarsgard, though ? yes please!

Love Rufus Sewell just for his turn in A Knight's Tale, but have never really fancied him.

Gosling ? meh.

evilgiraffe · 07/07/2012 08:06

Oh, far, Lurking, I don't even recognise any of your ladies Blush

nerdgirl - DH has been watching Le Tour highlights every night this week, Mark Cavendish is a good reason to let him! I got disproportionately worried when he crashed the other day.

evilgiraffe · 07/07/2012 08:07

Far? I meant "dear" of course, stupid autocorrect.

Gettheetoanunnery · 07/07/2012 08:44

YAsoooNBU chris hemsworth is a god sent down from the heavens!

I'm in love with him Blush

ThumbalinaDance · 07/07/2012 10:23

Lol Getthee....

I dreamt about him again last night(!), geez.

I was doing the food shopping and was at the till paying and Mr Hemsworth was queing up at the next till Hmm

I was just staring open mouthed at him! He looked gorgeous, some lovely fitted white top and jeans with his hair pulled back And he looked at me, right into my eyes and my legs were wibbling!!

I went over and helped him pack his shopping Grin

Certainly makes my night more interesting and puts a smile on my face when I wake up!

CreepyCrawly · 07/07/2012 11:09

nerdgirl72 I'm with you on the John Bishop thing. I can't put my finger on what it is, but there's definitely somthing!

It's great how everyone has different tastes, almost everyone I know is in love with Ryan Gosling. I think his face looks melted.

I'm quite liking Matthew Perry at the moment too..

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/07/2012 11:33

John Bishop would be absolutely filthy.

ThumbalinaDance · 07/07/2012 11:51

My not so admittable ones are Alan Rickman, Jon Richardson (8 out of 10 cats) Terry Christian(!) and too many more to list!

OP posts:
MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 07/07/2012 15:26

You can always admit Alan Rickman.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/07/2012 18:16

Yes, Rickman doesn't count as an embarrassing crush although personally I think he looks like an old queen and sounds like he needs his adenoids out

TrippleBerryFairy · 07/07/2012 18:47

Adam Garcia - very hot, esp when dancing! And i did bump into him once:)

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 07/07/2012 21:20

Oh yes. I still love Rickman but I admit it's mainly based on wanting to rip his clothes off 20 years ago and he was Snape and I loved Snape when he was just a book character

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 12:36

Well I figure this admission will a) get me thrown off MN, and b) get me locked up sharpish. I can hardly bring myself to type the words, but none of you know me right?

Jimmy Tarbuck.

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 12:37

Oh, and back in the day, I thought Joey Ramone was the hottest thing ever. Guess I have a taste issue?

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 12:40

Mind you, my dh has been compared to Robert de Niro so I do get it right sometimes Smile

Midwife99 · 08/07/2012 15:12

Jackieandjudy - I'd rather have Liza Tarbuck than Jimmy Tarbuck!!

JackieandJudy · 08/07/2012 19:06

Yes I know Midwife, I'm sure everyone will agree with you! What can I say - no accounting for taste and all that (but Mrs Tarbuck obviously saw something in Jimmy, maybe her and I would get on well!)

DoingItForMyself · 08/07/2012 20:14

PMSL at Jimmy Tarbuck sorry J&J!

Thought mine was bad (Hairy Bikers' Si King Grin ), but seriously Jimmy Tarbuck?!

Know what you mean about dreams though. I used to watch House and thought it was a really good series but never really felt 'that way' about Hugh Laurie until I had a dream where he chased me up a hill and grabbed me by the leg just a little bit too high and ever since then I get hot & flushed just watching him, but only as House though.
