I feel like a right plonker for writing this but I need to get it out somewhere and don't really want to bring this out in RL.

I'm a married mum but have a daft crush on someone and I got it bad.

I feel really stupid. I know its normal to fancy people but I feel like a bloody teenager and can't stop thinking about him. My husband thinks it hilarious and its become a bit of a joke in the house, which is OK, but its pretty embarressing really. I mean I'm nearly 30, not 13 :(

I dreamt about this person last night (and yes as I'm about to type this I know how daft it sounds) but I woke up feeling like it was real and I 'miss him' now :s

I know it will eventually pass but just wanted to talk it out and get some reassurance that I'm not having a midlife crisis or some kind of meltdown?!

Surely its 'normal' to feel like this? Even at 30?

I like Phil Glenister too. Hes on Channel 4 tomorrow night. (Three go Mad with Hugh F.Whittingstall.

Having watched the series White Heat earlier this year ive developed a bit of a thing for Lee Ingleby.

I also watched a couple of repeats of George Gently (that they repeated while the footie was on,just cos hes in it) having never seen it before. The reason i didnt bother with GG before was because i thought it was going to be another Heartbeat and i couldnt stand that. Too goody goody for me. I like my programmes with a bit of grit. Loved Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes too.

flowerflo · 03/07/2012 16:00

OP as soon as I saw the title of your thread I just knew it was Chris Hemsworth! I never fancy anyone famous but I luuuuurrrrrrvvve him. When I saw Thor I dribbled my way through the film and if I'm feeling bored I just google photos of him :) Ooooh I feel like a teenager.

flowerflo · 03/07/2012 16:01

Oh and another vote for Eddie Izzard here too :)

stookiesackhouse · 03/07/2012 16:24

I am Gems and RA88 re Channing. I luffs him so. Gorgeous.

His voice, his body, his dancing...

Bradley Cooper is a very close second.

Also, wouldn't kick Chris Hemsworth out of bed.

stookiesackhouse · 03/07/2012 16:25

Oh, I forgot Joe Manganiello. How could I?

ThumbalinaDance · 03/07/2012 16:28

flowerflo, im currently making my way through 171 episodes of home and away with 'kim' in via youtube Grin

Mmm, Sean Pertwee, Alexander Skarsgård (Eric in Trueblood), Peter Serafinowitz, Jai Courtney (Varro, the blond curly gladiator in Spartacus), Hugh Jackman and Bill Baily. I have eclectic tastes! Actually, with the actors on that list, I've fancied characters they've played rather than them!

CleoSmackYa · 03/07/2012 17:26

I'm the same! Richard Armitage is my husband I tell ya!

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 03/07/2012 17:38

Ha! I watched Thor (too many times to count) and the Avengers and came away with an overwhelming crush on Loki (aka Tom Hiddleston) although Chris Hemsworth is a sweetie (have you seen those pictures of him holding his tiny wee daughter in those massive arms? Grin) I blame You Tube - far too easy to watch masses of interviews which highlight all their good points...

I don't think there's anything wrong with having crushes on actors unless it's seriously impinging on real life. Good grief, I've got a good ten years on you and I still do it - makes life interesting. DH likes to tease too (gently, he's not an arse over it) and my rotten kids have decided to help. Every time there's an advert for The Hollow Crown atm, I get yelled at to 'come look, it's Loki, Mum. Quick, quick!'

CleoSmackYa · 03/07/2012 17:44

With Robert Downey Jr and Dave Grohl as a joint second Grin I'm feeling all woozy now.....

PerditaMcLeod · 03/07/2012 17:50

Getorf,

Another vote for Dave Gahan here. Particularly when he came back for Songs of Faith and Devotion with more tattoos, long hair and a goatee. Nurse, smelling salts please!

Would also add Anthony Kiedis, Michael Hutchence, John Taylor, Henry Rollins and Robert Downey Jr. Anyone see a pattern here?!

Oh, and the fabulous brut smelling, quattro driving Gene Hunt.....I was born in 1973 which makes it a bit wrong.....Don't you go telling me he's not a real person either! :-D

Mum2Fergus · 03/07/2012 18:53

Eddie Izzard, yes yes yes please Grin

Mum2Fergus · 03/07/2012 18:55

Oh, and Wlmer Valderamma (the voice of Handy Manny Blush lol

StellaNova · 03/07/2012 19:06

Rumpelstiltskin made me chortle.

I see your Benedict Cumberbatch and raise you a Ben Whishaw. Preferably in The Hour or possibly Bright Star.

Hugh Laurie is still my ur-crush though. 21 years and counting. They mocked me when he was in Blackadder, but who is mocking now he's a sexy American doctor, huh?

Sittinginthesun · 03/07/2012 19:14

Oh god, I have a massive crush at the moment too Blush. Honestly, I'm 41 years old, and feel about 16!

Joseph Millson (Dr Luc off Holby, also was in Campus). He's on my twitter feed, so I feel as though I'm stalking him.

StellaNova - I love him. I think it's the tight leather trousers. Don't even fancy Robert Carlyle without the make-up and costume. It's really quite concerning.

I am astonished at the amount of you who have actually told your DH about your crushes. I have had torrid imaginary affairs with all kinds of celebrities and fictional characters and I wouldn't tell my DH, he'd never let me forget it AND I wouldn't fancy him telling me of his lust for Kate Beckinsdale.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 03/07/2012 20:40

Isn't Twitter all about stalking actors? It's pretty much all I use it for...

I didn't exactly tell my DH about my crush. He kind of deduced it when my laptop wallpaper swapped from my usual fractals to a lovely HD picture of Loki, and then I spent ages finding and watching things like Wallander and Suburban Shootout which I'd ignored the first time around. I'm not the most subtle I'm afraid.

ThumbalinaDance · 03/07/2012 20:43

I don't have to tell my DH, after 13 years together he just knows Hmm

He thinks he is hilarious, we went shopping the other day and I was at the till surrounded by my sisters and I open my purse and hes put a huge picture of Thor in my purse.

I could have died.

It was funny though.

I love Loki too :D

nellyjelly · 03/07/2012 20:50

Brilliant about the pic in your purse! Very funny. I too get sleb crushes. I often have very real dream about them too and also feel bereft when I wake up and realise they aren't there!

Currently love Michael Fassbinder. Ewan Macgregor was in my dreams alot and previously Toby Maguire! I had a massive crush on him after Cider House Rules. Andrew Garfield is also on my horizon. ........

ThumbalinaDance · 03/07/2012 20:53

I think thats why I posted this morning nelly, it was such a real dream and I felt really guilty actually when I woke up. I know its not real and I can't control my dreams but I felt really bad!!

Nothing wrong with harmless perving. And Chris Hemsworth is HOT. Have you seen the 2009 Star Trek film? He has a very short-lived part in that, but is great, and the film comes with the added bonuses of Chris Pine (hubba hubba), Zachary Quinto (also hubba hubba), and Karl Urban (again, hubba hubba). And it's a great film!

And YES to Eddie Izzard. He is fabulous and I've seen him on stage in high heels and a leather miniskirt - I nearly MELTED. Grin

evilgiraffe · 03/07/2012 20:59

And dreams about celebs are infinitely better than rude dreams about DH's friends... Shock Blush It's a damn good thing DH has a sense of humour!
