Been chatting, speaking on the phone and texting a guy from POF this week, getting on like a house on fire, supposed to be meeting next week. The conversation turned to fantasies and he said he is into S&M, not just a bit of light bondage, the whole shebang.

I am not into this at all, in fact the idea of it turns me right off and really feel there's no point even meeting if we are already going to be out of synch sexually speaking. In all honesty, I'm no prude, but I feel kinda funny about him now I know this.

Am I being daft letting this stop me from meeting him? He's gobsmacked that it would bother me.

If someone is into S&M and role play, can they still enjoy "vanilla" sex with someone? It's a genuine question BTW, I'd really like to know!

just give the internet dating swerve. i don't know what else you do instead - someone else will tell you to join a kite flying society or soemthing - but seriously this was the most normal one out of them and because of that you were probably thinking oh he's lovely when in fact he was just the only one that didn't stand out like a sore thumb as a complete fruitloop/loser/massively unattracitve/clearly emotionally damaged/etc one which made him seem great in comparison.

honestly i got talked into going on a dating site a couple of times by friends and it is so utterly depressing, insulting and downright off putting. the selection of creeps, freaks and wankers that message you is unbelievable. the good looking ones are on there for shags with desperate women - they could pull elsewhere but fishing in a bucket is easier. the semi normal people seem wonderful but are in fact just boring old twats who want a wife and a womb or are lonely after a messed up divorce and basically want a mummy........ i could go on.

i used to find myself sending profile advice to people who contacted me or what not to put in an email to a woman. charming things like having it blatantly on your profile that you wouldn't be interested in dating a woman with children but then going ooh she's pretty, i'd do her actually and sending a message WITHOUT even having the sense to change your comment about mothers on your profile
