Why do I keep saying I'm sure? Must be all the chocolate sending me daft. Actually think I should really go to bed I'm shattered but will stay a little while longer

I'm good Silver just a bit tired and eaten loads of chocolate so probably won't sleep from the caffeine! How did your meeting go?

Was a really lovely meeting - really didn't want to go but forced myself and now I am so glad that I did. But came out and loads of snow which might out the mockers on the meeting I want to go to tomorrow morning

Ah well if not will curl up infront of the fire with AA literature that arrived today.

God you all must be so bored of me going on about AA - BUT - I need to be selfish if I am going to beat this twatting addiction! x

Hi Silver how did it go tonight? I hope you didn't mind us filling Gerald up with singers and bandsmen while you were out.

Glad you enjoyed it Silver and that you made yourself go. Loads of snow here too. Reading about your meetings and your progress is brilliant, I love it. It is inspirational .
It is not boring. Please tell me all about it (or as much as you want to of course). How long did it last?

Choc does have a little bit of caffeine in it but it's the least of my worries really! Anyway I'm off to bed, so shattered.

Not at all BB - we need to add loads of fairy lights tho - can't have Christmas without fairy lights

Ruby - the meetings last 90 minutes and they all vary - there is a Secretary who starts things off and then basicallly anyone who wants to 'share' does so - they talk about lots of things from what a shit/good day they've had to how through AA they have found serenity and peace rather the madness of their chattering alcoholic brains.

Some people just listen and that is the advice I have been given as a newcomer - to listen and absorb and then eventually the more complicated stuff like Higher Powers will fall into place - although being a gobby cow I am already contributing

There are tears, laughter, very little anger and a real sense of belonging - which I think is what has been missing in my life - i 5 days I have made some friends that I think I will have for life - genuine people who want to help you for nothing in return - they just want you te get well. It really is quite amazing xx

I just popped off to another thread, back now. Thanks for telling us about it, I don't suppose I am the only one who was ignorant and a little scared of what a meeting might entail. I am much more encouraged to give it a go myself.
