Can't really offload anything, it's a pain in the arse. I always forget that the week before Christmas is when the kids get I'll, so I never prepare for it ...

I am useless with gloves etc. Much better at looking after my children than myself. Think it's literally a hangover from drinking days - not bothering to take care of myself properly. I am working on it but it means changing the habits of a lifetime!

Take care wasindie blizzard conditions here, back to the walking boots and parka. I am getting fed up of constantly looking like I have come down off the hills!

Sorry the kids are ill CJ fingers crossed that you don't catch anything just as they are getting better - The first 4 christmases with my DC I was so ill on Christmas day I couldn't eat a thing and just kept crawling to bed inbetween feeds and nappy changes - hardly the idylic scene I had pictured!

Morning everyone. Bloody weather - and I am sick of all the weather warnings too. Tomorrow I am going to Bristol - can I book a taxi to the airport - no! "given the severe weather warning we cannot guarantee that we can get you to the airport so we are ony taking local bookings" ffs - it's only about 10 miles! And yes, if I get up tomorrow morning look outside and see 4 feet of snow, I'll understand that it might be difficult (and pointless since the airport will be closed too) - but at the moment I can hardly cancel my plans for tomorrow on the basis that we're worried it might be bad weather!

PS. I probably be posting sheepishly from Bristol once I'm snowed in there, and like wasindie I'll be kicking myself for not having warm clothes, blankets, emergency food etc.

Morning Campers

Actually got some sleep last night - so another day at work and then a meeting tonight - told my Mum last night and she is babysitting tonight for me - bless her - I am so lucky to have a supportive family (as much as they wind me up half the time). Sooo just got to get through today and keep busy - it's that window between getting in from work and going to the meeting that I will struggle with - but I will do it.

Morning, how is everyone this morning?

Hi desire, I am heading off for what would normally be a very boozy Christmas lunch at a lovely, lovely restaurant. So I have all my 'not-drinking' tactics in my head - starting with taking the car (my excuse being a visit to elderly paretns this evening). I also have in my heart the support of all on this thread, and in my head I have the most ascerbic of MIFLAW's comments - the ones that make me wince but which I subsequently realise are spot on.

I am so looking forward to the lovely food, my tummy is rumbling already.

Bad night here, not much sleep and Nemo was up a fair bit. Still no news from the hospital about the tests last week.

venus - thank you for the snuggle last night. Sorry that you are have travel issues. I hate this bloody country at times. It's snow! It's winter, and in winter it snows!

I saw on the new the snow collapsed a roof on a football stadium. And we have friends in Steamboat who have had 3/4 foot of snow a day for ages!

They just get on with it. They all muck in, help each other out and carry the feck on!!!

The roads are cleared, the the supplies get through, people help.

Grrrrrr.
