Hello

I'm Mouse.

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus - Gerald! Blame Silver for the name! Grin

We are a group of MNers who post about our relationship with alcohol and how drinking it, or not, has an effect on our day to day lives.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, say hi, take a seat or just read.

Here are the threads so far

zany - could you afford to hire a car for a week?, i think you can get a small hatch back for under £100 maybe have a look at the easy car website, failing that, could your gararge let you have a courtesy car for a few days, always worth asking! (so sorry if that is insensitive, just a thought!)

msgee, tbh we have got away with it lightly here - it was bad on saturday cos it all fell at once, but really, we have nothing to complain about! (btw, thanks for picturing me as glamourous, i certainly dont feel it today what with a static hair and rudolf like hooter!! Xmas Grin)

Zanyisntsantacanny · 21/12/2010 11:39

NOt insensitive JWN, I have looked at car hire but can't really afford it as I think my car is going to cost shitloads quite a bit.

BTW can I put my clothes back on now we've seen stonehendge.

[ffgrin} for Silver again

jesusthisstableiscrowded · 21/12/2010 11:41

dont suppose NG could give you a lift to the shops? Xmas Grin

MsGeeupaChristmasTree · 21/12/2010 11:59

JWN I am sure you still rock the glamorous look even with your red nose and static hair.

whenever I come on here something interesting is happening. Naked people running around in this weather

Zany is public transport an option for your sister's? There is also a thread in chat where people offer support and lifts for those struggling in the weather - someone might be able to help?

Zanyisntsantacanny · 21/12/2010 12:51

I will look into it thanks MsGee. I dont think I realise how much I rely on my car for all the little 'pop to the shops' and feel silly now for getting upset

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 21/12/2010 13:26

Zany - nightmare for you! Especially this time of year. Have they given you any indication of what the hell is wrong with your car?

OP posts:
Zanyisntsantacanny · 21/12/2010 13:42

Well at first I thought it was the battery so got a new one, then the battery garage said the fuel pump was frozen but it still had trouble starting when it warmed up. I have now taken it to a garage my parents have been going to for ages and they hace tried changing the sensor and now think its the PCB? The annoying thing is I asked my XH for help seen as he has been in the car trade for years and he was as unhelpful as unhelpful can be - I guess he is being a taxi for the kids now then Xmas Grin

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 21/12/2010 13:50

PCB - printed circuit board, which they should be able to change?

Nightmare for you.

Aw thanks for the ditty Wasindie:)
Am fecking freaking out at minute, one of my daughters stayed with her sister in Dublin last night because of snow, was meant to come home, in meantime her battery on phone died, now her sister just text to say last bus leaving Dublin is at 6.15 which my other daughter is not aware of, I have no way of contacting her and am praying like mad that she makes the bus home.

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 21/12/2010 17:32

Sorry I vanished, my PIL 'stopped off' on their way to Scotland.

Thanks Wasindie - very nice nose suck from DT1!! It's so sweet when they master the arms out to be picked up thing. Smile

GoodChristianaRejoice · 21/12/2010 17:32

wasindie hello babe

DD2 asthma bad again - new steroids, new inhaler with steroids, plus more inhaler without steroids. Am terrified of her getting swine flu but I can't immunise her until she recovers from this, her 520th cold this year (or so it feels)

Zanyisntsantacanny · 21/12/2010 18:30

Would try manipulation persuasion Wasindie but he is still very bitter about our split although it was almost 4 years ago!

My parents have come to the rescue and have pput me on their insurnce and I can borrow the car whenever I like. What would I do without them.

XH just picked DC's up and wan't very sympatheic to my DD which is annoying as she has been really poorly - I hate them going to him when its like that

Wasindie - you can get glasses that hold a full bottle of wine.

We were bought 2 one year. I was gutted! Xmas Blush

Zany - your parents are doing this because they love you and let's be fair, a month of extra insurance costs or whatever, has to be easier than you worrying about them taking you places.

It means that you can just go if they don't need the car!

Plus, I bet it is cheaper than hiring a car too?

My parents are like that. Whatever it takes. I hope I am like that too. Xmas Smile

Christi - when do you start your new job??

OP posts:
Zanyisntsantacanny · 21/12/2010 18:39

Very true wasindie and yes I do cherish them and try and do lots of supportive things for them in return.

Christie if its any consolation my DS had asthma with inhalers etc as a baby and he is OK no older, I remember at the time thinking he would always have it but it did go which hopefully will be the same for you.

Desire on reading you post I would take that to mean that the other daughter due home is getting that bus. It sounds like she is sensible in that she has waited for the weather to be better before coming home and letting you know that so try not to worry (says the worlds worse worrier, on a worrying day whilst feeling particularly worried)

notevenachristmousie · 21/12/2010 20:28

Hi all. Babysitter cancelled. Tough day... and really dreading the fact that this is the last night I have to my self. Dreading my mum being here. Weepy and sad.

Headed to bed. Fixed hungry. But angry and lonely and tired are pretty unfixeable. xx

Rubyrednose · 21/12/2010 20:59

Hi All. Just checking in. I'm having a sad day today. Not sure why, just keep remembering what a fool I have been in the past. I must enjoy torturing myself Xmas Grin or should I say [frin].

Noteven Sorry that you're still not feeling too good. Snuggling down in a nice warm bed with a good book can help relax you. Hope you get a good sleep.
