Ohh lunar eclipse, do you know what time wasindie

Well although I had a drink last night I didn't have too much, about 3 average sized glasses so feeling pleased with myself in that respect. UNfortunately DD poorly and I have now been without my car for a week, hoping the garage fix's it soon as I am away for Christmas.

morning!!, you havent scared me off wasindi!, in fact, you have educated me this morning! [frin]! will we be able to see the eclipse? mind you, who will want to look at a boring old eclipse when they have the wondourous sight of a bus load of naked babes prancing round stonehenge!

Mouse glad the pipes have unfrozen, only once have we had no heating / water in winter and we all ended up sleeping in same bed for warmth - not much sleep was had!

Well I had another booze free night while DH sat beside me with his pomegranite (I blame The Apprentice - Chris and Prism!) and vodka combinataion. I have told him about me not drinking but it hasn't changed his habits at all

notevenachristmousie - sorry you are having a tough time with it all but you do sound like you are determined to get on with things (I know what choice do you have).

I joined this thread after some months of it starting so I don't know people but I do know that since I joined last Friday when I felt so down, hungover and ready to give up that I now have a sense of positivity and control over my life.

I have no one in RL to talk to about any of my problems and I'm often seen as the strong one with the perfect life - an image I project so people don't have to worry about me............waffle, waffle etc. etc.

Today will be a good day, snow has been washed away and we will get out and about.

You are in the office early Wasindie, are you off on Christmas Eve?

Zany I hope you're DD feels a bit better, are you able to get your Christmas food, etc, without the car?

DH coughing and snoring like a steam train last night, so not much sleep (at least the DT's are beautiful, gorgeous and cuddly when the wake in the night, Wasindie). I saw Dh off at 6.30, then went back to bed, but raging sore throat, so got up and have had many pints of tea (Darjeeling, dontcha know!)

The bookshop have just phoned and they have managed to get the book I wanted for DC1, which was almost impossible to find, so am off to pick that up in a moment.

Strange thing, I weighed myself this morning, because I thought I had been eating a lot, and I have lost half a stone in the last couple of months, but, I always thought wine made me thinner .

Mouse how is Nemo, this cold one minute, warmer the next weather, used to be awful when DC2 suffered with respiratory trouble.

I think it's amazing just how many people on here, are seen as the strong, sensible, coping one in RL: perfect family, no worries,etc.

No-one can really know about someone else though.

Unless we choose to tell them, like on here .

I don't feel much like cavorting today - I have got a sore back, so I think I'll snuggle up warm somewhere.

Probably sore from having to sit around the airport for so long the other evening Venus, snuggling up warm sounds like the perfect solution.

ah, that image of perfection! i think i tried so fucking hard to do that that i lost myself somewhere - i have the house, the job, the car, the clothes, to the outside world i was strong and in charge - no one saw me with the wrecking ball at home though!, no one saw me being shit-faced and nasty, no one saw my dh disppairing and my dd so unhappy! no one saw my shame and unhappiness - this is the first christmas in many years that i have looked forward to with clear thinking and a contentment that i wish i could bottle!

the only way to keep this feeling is to do it a day at a time, so,

TODAY I WILL NOT BE DRINKING!!

errr, hello .... hope its ok to hop back on. Sorry I haven't been around much lately, I was sick with flu last week (and proper flu, none of this man flu). So had a crappy birthday. JWN I seem to remember your birthday is near mine, did you have a good one?

Anyway, life has been challenging but it was clear that the challenges would not be improved by alcohol, so I have been trailing behind the bus in my bed of snot.

It's bloody freezing out there Wasindie and the security gaurds were non too happy with me leaping the fence around the stones to chant in nothing but my wellies and birthday suit, I can tell you!

A few of the tourists were smiling though!

thurso - I hate this time of year for Nemo. He has a sniffle, which turns into a cough, which turns into him lying on his playmat for 3 days too ill to play, and hooked up to dioralyte.

DD has a cough at the moment so I'm hoping he is spared this one.

My washer is on!! Hoorah!! Much warmer here today, only -8.

Zany - I read your post about feeling upset about being alone this Christmas.

What a fantastic day you could have! Get up with the DCs, stay in your PJs, eat what you like, when you like, watch what you like with the DCs........ be daft! Play and have fun.

This year, you can just be with your children and focus on them.

And who knows, maybe NG will 'pop in for an eggnog'??

JWN am sure you will enjoy lunch once you are out. And I picture you as so glamorous, even if you are heading to 50. I am now on the downward slope to 40 and have accepted that I won't develop a touch of glamour as I get older! Is the snow bad over where you are? Think you are much further to the east than I am.

Snow not pleasant here. skidded twice when driving DD to nursery which for an inexperienced nervous driver like myself was terrifying. Not helped by DD yelling "what that? what happened?".

Just spoke to the garage and I won't get my car back by Xmas. Just made a fool of myself by getting upset at work but after dropping the DC's off at their useless Dad's I am supposed to be driving to my sisters an hour away. And I've got most of my shopping to do.
