Hello

I'm Mouse.

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus - Gerald! Blame Silver for the name! Grin

We are a group of MNers who post about our relationship with alcohol and how drinking it, or not, has an effect on our day to day lives.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, say hi, take a seat or just read.

Here are the threads so far

Silver - have you got hold of a mobile charger yet?

And how are you feeling?

OP posts:
dreamingofagreyjanuary · 20/12/2010 18:36

found charger that works with lap top - so glad you sorted pipes - and a quiet word with DH about lagging might be in order! Am at my sister's babysitting adorable 2 year old while rest of family go to see Diversity Hmm

DP out taxiing - DD being an angel with niece - lovely to see - oops - story time - back in a bit [frin]

dreamingofagreyjanuary · 20/12/2010 18:54

just realised that as on sister's pc i have come up as her name - it is silver here!!

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 19:14

I realised it was you as soon as I saw [frin]

Nutter! Xmas Grin

Hi everyone,

Just trying to catch up with you all - Mouse glad the pipes are sorted, that sounded potentially cold and expensive earlier.

Silver try and let yesterday be one day and don't project about what it means - it doesn't have to mean anything.

I've had a tough day because of being up so much in the night, then DD desperately clingy and sad and still not all that well, work was challenging to say the least, a cheque I wrote has bounced and I got stranded at work for an hour as no buses and no taxis and it was -10 here. Still, I have not and will not be drinking and can only live one day at a time. I am feeling really stressed but just trying to learn to sit with those feelings, no quick fix, just the best that I can do just now .

Love to all x

dementedma · 20/12/2010 19:59

hi all
nothing much to report, bloody freezing but no frozen pipes thus far (touch wood).
Venus - glad you got back. shall I stand down the cabin crew? going to be hard to part with this sexy little uniform tho

Silverbaubleonatree · 20/12/2010 20:17

shit now thinking said sister is going to be able to read back on all my posts if she wants to - actually - fek it - might be good for her to see how i really honestly feel - at the moment i just don't care [frin] xx

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:11

Woohoo! Two loads of washing done!

Just hoping I can do the same tomorrow night if they refreeze, which they will.

No builder until New Year to put a loft hatch in and lag the pipes.

How are we all this evening?

noteven - sorry to hear that DD is unwell still and you haven't had much sleep. You sound really fed up. Sad

Silver - better out than in!!

OP posts:
TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:13

Ma - I used to work for House Of Fraser.

Have you seen Love Actually? The bit with Rowan Atkinson 'gift wrapping' the necklace for Alan Rickman?

That was the kind of wrapping I had to do. I am VERY impressed with your DD's efforts! Xmas Smile

OP posts:
Zanyisntsantacanny · 20/12/2010 21:19

Silver Was sitting here thinking to myself 'goodness there are now 2 people on MN who cant do Xmas Grin 's

Well dinner with the neighbour was amazing fun just wish I didn't like him quite soooooo much as I am sure it will all end in tears!

How is everyone tonight

dementedma · 20/12/2010 21:22

lol mouse - they look absolutley exquisite, all slightly different but themed. My one is quite big, square and has 3 different types of gossamer ribbon on, all in coordinating shades of gold and copper. Wonder what it is?

dementedma · 20/12/2010 21:23

wish someone would gift wrap Alan Rickman for me Xmas Grin

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:24

Zany - I was wondering about dinner with your neighbour.

And, you know it will end in tears and they will be yours, not his.

As much as I am sure people can change for the better, I doubt he is there yet.

Keep going as you are, take your time. ARMS LENGTH!!!

Treat him like a 'hot dish'! Handle with care and don't get burnt.

How many cliches Mouse?? [frin]

That was just for Silver Xmas Grin

OP posts:
TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:26

Fight you for him Ma - YUM!!

Die Hard was on last night so I did a bit of drooling over him!

Is your DD a florist? I used to use gossamer ribbon and raffia when I was a florist, always so much nice than poly ribbon!

She sounds really arty. Smile

OP posts:
dementedma · 20/12/2010 21:30

Mouse - it's his voice. Like liquid chocolate, makes me meeeeeellltttt.
No she's not a florist, just very arty farty with delusions of grandeur

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:36

He ooooooozes smooth Ma, not in a creepy way, in a safe way.

I love his voice. I want him to read to me, so I can just drift off to sleep.

And he's rather dishy too!!

Your DD saounds great! Could have done with her to work with me!

OP posts:
Zanyisntsantacanny · 20/12/2010 21:42

I know what you mean Mouse, its hard as I seem to like him more wach time I see him and I do think he feels the same but still think its best to remain as friends. I did go to a ridiculas effort though and made Xmas tree pizza for the children and chicken lasagne for us. One way to get him is through his stomach
[frin] [frin] - also for Silver Grin

jesusthisstableiscrowded · 20/12/2010 21:54

evening everyone! Xmas Smile, dd has met alan rickman a few times Xmas Envy (she moves in fairly 'lovey' circles!), the first time she met him she slapped him on the back so hard he choked on his wine! Xmas Grin, what is it with us and our 'arty' dds, mine has wrapped all her pressies in brown parcel paper with natural string stuff and little corsages she has made from holly and things from the garden - my wrapping is from the pound shop and everything looks like a sort of deformed cracker! Xmas Grin

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 20/12/2010 21:59

My gifts get wrapped in different materials each year!

Last year was brown paper, thick string and hand drawn pictures of snowmen, trees etc.....

This year is Morrison's paper and fancy fabric ribbon.

Off to watch tv with DH and dream of Mr Rickman.

Night all, hoping that those with poorly DCs have a better night and those who are struggling stay Brave xxxx

OP posts:
jesusthisstableiscrowded · 20/12/2010 22:00

night mouse!

Silverbaubleonatree · 20/12/2010 22:19

Night Babes xxxx

Zanyisntsantacanny · 20/12/2010 22:35

Feeling crap now and pretty lonely.

Realised its the first year I have been single at Christmas for 17 years and finding it upsetting Xmas Sad Was with XH until 3 years ago and then split from XP just 2 months ago. I know things aren't always as good in relationships as they seem but just kind of want to be with someone who will treat me right and look out for me instead of the other way round.

Sorry Xmas Sad

notevenachristmousie · 21/12/2010 06:47

Thanks Mouse. I was fed up last night. Little sleep again too. And I have the potential to start projecting that I will feel this bad if not worse for the whole of the next fortnight.
Ok, maybe, probably I will, because the stresses and difficult situations won't go away. But I think I've got myself to the point where I can just do the best I can do today and after that, I can't do any more. I won't drink, and my feelings won't kill me.

Big thoughts for this time in the morning. Today I have another busy day at work, and also need to sort out money stuff and get some food in the house - except no money - hmm, pay day is Friday. Never move house just before Christmas, as two lots of rent and two deposits will cripple you, is the moral of the story.

Hope you ok Zany and made it through your day 2. Silver are you getting to a meeting today?
Have good days everyone.
