Hello to all and a Medal for those of you that stayed over all 16 pages of the 'It's all about him' thread.

Since it has gotten so big and since I will most likely going to be droning on about this for a little while I thought it would be easier to just start a new thread.

Must say I prefer the new title Xmas Grin

For those that didn't read the mammoth previous thread, in a nutshell it's about me dithering to leave partner of 8 years. No sex life for a year, he's very self centred and unmotivated etc, no future to speak of, fed up.

Finally told him I want to split up last night so am now using MN as my lifeline to ensure I really do get out of this excuse for a relationship.

Thank you all again for letting me do this and your support :)

Hello, yes fine thank you for asking hope the same applies to you :)

Well, apart from me not having had any internet access at home since last wednesday due to being a hasty idiot and telling BT to shove it Grin

I'll be back in business on Thursday but boy have I felt lost without MN (other than at lunchtimes)

Quite scary really...... :)

How are things Bibi?

BibiBlocksberg · 23/05/2011 20:25

Hello Fab :) just spotted the resurrection of my thread. Thanks for asking, things are finally moving on for me, bike was sold last saturday so now i get all the fun of choosing a car just for me.

Social life is improving all the time especially since I try to take up every invitation that comes my way these days :)

Mind you, I kind of came to regret that policy a little bit when captain sorry's dad and his next door neighbour invited me for an impromptu barbecue Saturday evening.

First the capn's father tried to chat me up and then told me that it's a good job I'm still young enough to lose weight. Eurrrrrgh!!!!!

All while informing me that his son is still sitting at his mothers waiting for a reconciliation.

This sort of twilight zone stuff always seems to happen to me when I'm single.

All a rich source of funny stories for a dinner party I think Grin

I'm still really happy to have made the break and really grateful to everyone on this amazing site who helped me break free!!

Brilliant news!

You don't have to accept every invitation you know...Wink.

BibiBlocksberg · 23/05/2011 22:23

:) yep, that's another lesson I learned this week!! Nearly 40 years old and still naive as a child at times - tsk!!

Still, it's nice to get invitations after years of none and believing it was because I'm so weird. Think it was more the capn's strange and unsociable ways!

Random bit - just walked into my bathroom and my new shower curtain is so
Neon pink it's reflecting off every surface. And no one is here to moan at me about it!!!

Hope you're ok too FAb!?

Whoo-hoo Grin Great to see you both!

Bibi, don't tell me you're surprised that Captain Sorry Snr (Admiral Sorry?) is a sleazy, confused dickhead ... They learn at their fathers' knee! Still, as you've noticed, the Sorry family provide much comedy material especially as you gain the perspective of sanity Wink

I'm very jealous of your car shopping! Congrats on the retrieval & sale of your unique-antique bike :) I'm decorating, too ... lots of TURQUOISE, which I now realise is my favourite colour. Even though it makes the whole place look underwater

:)

LittleHousebytheRiver · 24/05/2011 00:00

Hey Bibi and friends glad all is going well.
Well done selling the bike Bibi.

I too am in a good place. Having made a new friend online and chatted to him on Skype for three months we are finally going to meet for real on Wednesday.
I didn't really want a new man in my life but this one is too lovely to miss. Watch this space!

Turquoise is good.

"the Sorry family provide much comedy material"

Grin - the sorry family - love it!

I knew that Mr Sorry Snr was a bit of a chauvinist but other than that he was always a good laugh.

My friend at work made me laugh when she said that Capn' Sorry would surely be delighted to have me as his new step mother Grin

Oh well, we live and learn - no more barbeques with the sorry clan for me!

LittleHouse - so you're meeting the Skype man tomorrow then? V. exciting, but keep your safety net in place (tell somewhere where you're going etc) You never know do you.

Agree with Annie on the Turquoise front btw.

I just constantly delight in the choices I am able to make now without any negativity coming from anyone!!

I'm also amazed at just how much I laugh these days, didn't realise how full of anger and frustration I'd become putting up with the Capn's antics.
