Hello to all and a Medal for those of you that stayed over all 16 pages of the 'It's all about him' thread.

Since it has gotten so big and since I will most likely going to be droning on about this for a little while I thought it would be easier to just start a new thread.

Must say I prefer the new title Xmas Grin

For those that didn't read the mammoth previous thread, in a nutshell it's about me dithering to leave partner of 8 years. No sex life for a year, he's very self centred and unmotivated etc, no future to speak of, fed up.

Finally told him I want to split up last night so am now using MN as my lifeline to ensure I really do get out of this excuse for a relationship.

Thank you all again for letting me do this and your support :)

Ooooh, I found you. I am missing the drama of the last thread but very much lookng forward to answering questions such as 'should I shag my skydiving instructor?' and '2 really nice men have asked me out, which should I choose?' and 'I am having a dinner party but am unable to fit in all the nice friends I have. Is it ok to do two sittings?' Xmas Grin

bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:18

Sorry, x posted. He is a spineless turd.

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 21:28

hello bloomingnora, nice to see you here. I do like the new dilemmas you've made up for me :)

Not fussed about men AT ALL for a good long time tbh but the fitting in friends for dinner question I'd like to strive towards

Grin@ spineless turd!

No.

hth Xmas Grin

In that case the answers are no, neither and yes!

He is just proving that you did the right thing. And don't do that mooning over wasted years thing because I do think the experiences you have can make you the person you need to be.

In a nutshell, when Mr Right comes along (as opposed to Mr Right Twat) you will be fabulously happy, shiny and confident.

bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:34

x posted again! Because I am shovelling chocolate into my mouth before DH eats them all.

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 21:34

Huh????

OP posts:
bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:35

@ what?

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 21:37

Oops some posts didn't display when I put the huh? but still don't get what Grace last wrote.

Am either thick or too infuenced by wine :)

Off to re-read properly I think

It's alright, I've just got it - doing a two Ronnies kind of running slightly behind thing here.

Sorry Grace!! Listening to Kevin Bridges while typing. All his fault :)

OP posts:
bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:42

I blame the wine.

bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:42

Kevin is innocent.

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 21:51

He he he - bet that's not something he heard very often while growing up in Glasgow {grin]

Getting controversial, back to safer waters.... :)

I love love love having a choice in everything and being in charge of everything without having to wait endlessly for someone else to state their preferences.

From what time to get up to what music to listen to, to what to have for dinner to when to do washing etc etc.

Just feel v. lucky right now to have this house, warmth, my two little kitties who are surprisingly good company, my health, a good job, nice food to eat and my freedom.

Thought it might be good to write that down since there are bound to be times soon when I will forget about all of that.

bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 21:55

We'll remind you. Bet you're getting really organised. Have you bought your new wardrobe yet? As in place to keep clothes, not actual clothes (although come to think of it that might be an idea...).

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 22:06

Nope, no wardrobe yet. Waiting to be paid again next week and January sales should throw up something nice as well.

Need to sort out some other things like the car etc. Basically anything that ties me to the Cap'n I want it seperated.

Oh, and the key to this house back.

OP posts:
bloomingnora · 17/12/2010 22:19

I think you should change his name to Captain Spineless Turd. The Cap'n sounds far too nice. Or at least keep the 'sorry' bit. Off to bed now as am totally knackered. Burning the candle at both ends. Or rather I am burning it at one end and DS2 is burning it at the other...

BibiBlocksberg · 17/12/2010 22:30

Totally understand nora, feel the same myself.

Sleep well, hope DS2 lets you have a bit of a lie-in. Unless he's tiny of course :)

Waffling, going to go, thanks everyone for indulging me!

Nice day today young Bibi? It's shhhhnooooowy here all beautiful for my birthday tomorrow. Am very excited.

Anyway, nothing to say except that I hope the first weekend day of freedom was good :)

bloomingnora · 18/12/2010 21:10

I too am wondering how today was. Hope you did some nice things for you.

BibiBlocksberg · 18/12/2010 21:47

Hi elfpants and Nora. Spent most of today asleep Shock

Then again I have been I'll for a large part of the week and its all cold and snowy out.

Well, that's my excuse anyway :)

Had a nice dinner and am now watching Bridget jones for the 900th time without having to feel guilty about it Grin

Do you have anything nice planned for your birthday tomorrow ElfPants?

OP posts:
ElfPantsAtMidnightMass · 18/12/2010 21:52

Just spending time with some friends and hopefully building some snowmen, snowwomen, snowdogs etc :)

Arf at Bridget Jones. Don't go singing into your hairdryer fgs! Although tbh I'd rather hairdryer than Colin Firth.

BibiBlocksberg · 18/12/2010 22:01

Snowwomen brilliant! I know I shouldn't really like Bridget for feminist reasons but I can't help it.

Never understood the appeal of the darcy character either. Arrogant arse.

Used to always watch this and think that darcy was just as expressive emotionally as the cap'n. Still of the same opinion actually Grin

Hope you have a brilliant birthday ElfPants!!!!

bloomingnora · 18/12/2010 22:17

Nothing wrong with watching comfort films! Hope you're feeling a bit better. I dream of sleep. Or I would if I ever went to sleep for long enough. Wheezy coughing DS2 lying on me at 4.30am.....

Enjoy your birthday Elfpants. Make a snow sofa too, they always look great Grin
