Hello to all and a Medal for those of you that stayed over all 16 pages of the 'It's all about him' thread.

Since it has gotten so big and since I will most likely going to be droning on about this for a little while I thought it would be easier to just start a new thread.

Must say I prefer the new title

For those that didn't read the mammoth previous thread, in a nutshell it's about me dithering to leave partner of 8 years. No sex life for a year, he's very self centred and unmotivated etc, no future to speak of, fed up.

Finally told him I want to split up last night so am now using MN as my lifeline to ensure I really do get out of this excuse for a relationship.

FabCat has got new expensive food and her blood tests are fine. Lab cocked up . She is okay-ish in herself. I am trying not to worry over every little thing she does. I have to take her back in 4 weeks to be weighed, more blood tests and another injection. The vet said I might have 2 more years with her. I got the feeling that was the maximum.

I am struggling today and it isn't about her. Don't know what is up with me.

Wowee a month between arguments, at least? I need to get me some of that. Do you feel excited about the possibility for living your life in a better way? I do. I mean, it's lovely for me to think that, however much I miss him :(, the rest of my life is not going to be spent skirting around certain issues.

I have just posted about a dream I had last night and it has unsettled me.

Nothing exciting has happened in my life, just been pottering around enjoying just being me.

Glad to hear FabCat's diagnosis wasn't as bad as you feared. If the vet says two years I bet there's more life in her than that yet even

FabCat is eating her new expensive food so far but she isn't impressed that she doesn't get her bedtime biscuits anymore.

:) Bedtime biscuits is all that stands between me and total sleep deprived insanity :)

I find it gives me a good two hours extra sleep if they have a bowl of biccies to nibble on until their proper breakfast.

My cat has twice made a noise exactly like a text message coming through. Very annoying when I have no signal at all and can't get any texts or calls.

Just taking a 5 minute 'sanity' break, absolutely hectic today.

I have checked FabCat and she assures me she doesn't have her own personal moggy phone. She has been suspiciously good this afternoon though .

I think I am going to be living in dog walker land. Several dog owning friends have asked if I will serve early morning tea over the front wall while they are exercising their pooches. Could be a great way to meet hot men people!

Oh, dogs, definitely. Hence my bullet point in "good things about breaking up with ex-P" list about not having to live with cats.

I do like cudddly cats, they're nice, but I think it's the habit of rubbing their bums in your face that switches me right off.

I've been pottering around, some friends I haven't seen for ages told me they are planning a girly road trip to come and see me in March so I'm really happy about that.

Was busy thinking about setting up a business (was getting some excellent ideas on chat re. that)

And then I got the wine out and watched PS I Love you and fell properly to pieces for the first time since the Capn' left.

What an idiotic thing to do, but that's feelings I guess :(

I know, Elephants I was actually thinking of that 'gem' of advice I gave you while boo hooing into my cabernet sauvignon.

Thought I was ready for a good 'weepie' but didn't feel like it at the time

Still, better out than in I tend to think nowadays :)

Am thinking of setting up a 'woman friday' type service. Especially since spending time on MN I think, wouldn't it be great if there was someone you could call who will do pretty much whatever you need that day/moment.

So, customers could call me with all manner of tasks - new mothers who would like to take a shower in peace (I can sit and watch baby) walk dogs, collect dry cleaning/prescriptions, clean the house, etc etc etc

Trouble is, this service would be limited to evenings and weekends to start off with since I can't afford to just let go of my full-time job.

Anyway, enough about me - how are you getting on with the single life Elephants?

I think it's great that you're planning for the future Bibi. I also think it is okay to have a cathartic cry as long as you move onwards and upwards.

That sounds like an interesting job! Should keep you busy and limit the risk of salt-water wine contamination anyway :)

Single life...erk, it's fine. I still have no real home but am about to do an internship in a totally different area of work which should be great/strange/interesting. Will keep me busy and stop me moping too :o
