Hello to all and a Medal for those of you that stayed over all 16 pages of the 'It's all about him' thread.

Since it has gotten so big and since I will most likely going to be droning on about this for a little while I thought it would be easier to just start a new thread.

Must say I prefer the new title Xmas Grin

For those that didn't read the mammoth previous thread, in a nutshell it's about me dithering to leave partner of 8 years. No sex life for a year, he's very self centred and unmotivated etc, no future to speak of, fed up.

Finally told him I want to split up last night so am now using MN as my lifeline to ensure I really do get out of this excuse for a relationship.

Thank you all again for letting me do this and your support :)

Wink

"a nod's as good as a wink to a blind donkey"

What a weird expression...

IAmReallyFabNow · 18/01/2011 17:00

Hi again

Thank you all for being so nice to me.

I have had a nice time since picking up the kids. We went to pick up some shopping and they conned persuaded me to buy them an ice cream so they were Grin and then I have just served up tea and DS1 said "OMG I am going to melt into that dinner. It looks so nice."

And DH will be home in an hour.

I will look for that thread. I am not sure the elastic band would work but will try it. Not sure that seeing it wouldn't make me think about things. The breathing is a really good idea and one I will try.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 08:54

How are you lot this morning then? :)

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 09:12

Woe is meeeeee, I feel really ill. Sat in work considering going home again to crawl under the duvet :(

Waaaiiiillll :(

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 09:26

Ah you poor petal. Are your colleagues making the sign of the cross at you?

Where does it hurt?

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 10:02

It hurts everywhere.....sob.....

My boss is on holiday again as well so only me to do the job.

Was going to go home after post has arrived but just discovered that would leave the person I give a lift to totally stranded (lives near me)

Really peees me off - whenever I could really do with taking time out circumstances conspire so that I can't.

Rats!!!!!

Sorry, I'll stop ranting now.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 10:05

Listen Bibi if you really need to go home, you need to go home. No-one's going to thank you for sitting in the office like the anti-air-freshener sneezing out your germs every 2 minutes. And if you stay at work now you might get worse and have to have more time off which will leave liftee and colleagues even more up the creek.

Someone else will be able to give liftee a lift. Have you asked around? Or ask them to send out a group email? Have had to grab lifts off people before without warning and people will often go out of their way to help :)

IAmReallyFabNow · 19/01/2011 10:07

Oh no Bibi Sad. Go out at lunch time and buy something really yummy for tea.

I am upset for a friend who has just lost a relative and has been the victim of a crime SadAngry.

I am still fretting about my cat Sad.

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 10:15

Yep, investigated all possible alternative lift options (it's a smallish place where I work)

The other person who lives near both of us has decided to work from home today. Blardy typical.

Bit of a shitter though to so say to the poor guy, 'I'm off home, no idea how you get back'

Wouldn't be so bad if we didn't work at the butt end of nowhere without public transport options.

Fuckety fuck fuck.

That's funny!!

"like the anti-air-freshener sneezing out your germs every 2 minutes."

Just goes to show though, there's always someone worse off isn't there - double whammy of bad news for your friend there ReallyFab :(

Didn't know you were having cat trouble, sorry to hear!

OP posts:
BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 10:19

Obviously the funny comment should have gone under the air freshener quote Blush

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 10:21

Bugger, well it's up to you. But if you are poorly (all shaky and sore and horrible) then you have to go home. When your going to work method is dependent on someone else, you do know that your transport is vulnerable to them being ill/on holiday etc. I'm sure he can find his own solution. You're not assuming responsibility for other people with cocks again are you?

Aargh Fab your poor friend. :( What's wrong with your cat?

IAmReallyFabNow · 19/01/2011 10:24

Her kidneys are failing. Found out last night and I am taking her to the vet tomorrow for a jab and to find out what we can do for her. She is my baby Sad.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 10:27

Aw no :( I bet you are coddling her like anything today aren't you? All you can do is make sure you feels safe and warm til you can get her to the doc vet.

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 10:30

Aw, no that's heartbreaking!!

They really do worm their way right into our hearts don't they.

Really hope something can be done for her!!

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/01/2011 10:37

meant "she feels safe", obviously

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 10:39

"You're not assuming responsibility for other people with cocks again are you?"

Grin Probably, yes. But would feel just as responsible if no cock was involved :)

IAmReallyFabNow · 19/01/2011 10:56

I have had her since she was 5 weeks and she is 16 and 41/2 months. She has just had a play with her toy and is asleep in the landing. I am in my bedroom so we are close by each other. I can't bear the thought of her dying.

BibiBlocksberg · 19/01/2011 12:26

No, it will be very painful to loser her, that much is certain :(

Just wanted to say that a woman I work with -her v. elderly cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and cancer (liver) I think.

She was really bad for a while and everyone thought she would die but she recovered again (still has the illnessesses mind you)

They both love each other very dearly, cat and human and I swear that bond is what has kept her cat with her all this time.

Sounds like you and her are the same so you never know, with appropriate treatment you could have a decent bit of time left together.

P.S - am sure you know this but it's worth asking the vet about putting her on a special renal diet. I read cats can't really deal with protein as they get older and especially with renal failure.

Just a thought. Thinking of you both.

OP posts:
IAmReallyFabNow · 19/01/2011 13:14

Thanks for that, I will ask the vet when I see him tomorrow. FabCat has bitten and scratched me this morning, sat on my lap top, hassled me for my lunch and is now sat on the sofa next to me. I have sent DH to the shop to get her favourite food.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 21/01/2011 10:48

How did it go, Fab?

NoNamesNoPackDrill · 22/01/2011 12:11

Hi Bibi and gang.

Just back from lovely trip away with girlfriends to beautiful seaside place. Feeling loved and cherished by friends.

Hope your germs are going Bibi and all cats are okay!

BibiBlocksberg · 22/01/2011 15:59

That sounds really great NoNames. Glad you have such good friends around you!

Have resorted to MNetting as can't lie in bed any longer. Sodding germs keep coming back.

Haven't been this ill in years, stayed at home on thursday but had to go back to work yesterday as everyone else had gone to a meeting in london.

For some weird reason the chest cold then turned into a full blown cold as soon as I left work.

Feel rubbish, wail wail, tucked up under blanket on couch with cats and Star Wars :)

Still, could be worse I suppose, could have the capn and his infernal noises to put up with as well Grin

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 22/01/2011 23:44

Eugh, poor you Ms Blocksberg. I expect the cats are somewhat more comfort and help than the Sozmeister would have been. Everybody seems to be sickly at the moment, I feel almost apologetic for my practically normal nasal passages :o

Anything good on telly for you today? Black and white films are therapeutic.

Glad you have fun NoNames - the wonderfulness of friends never ceases to amaze me for some reason. You'd think they'd get fed up with you (me) but somehow they just keep being nice :)

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 22/01/2011 23:44

have fun had fun, I mean.

NoNamesNoPackDrill · 23/01/2011 16:11

Hope you feel better today Bibi.

Elephants I am amazed by how lovely my friends are. Also by how little normal people seem to argue about stuff when I have been used to a marriage with lots of disagreement on a daily basis. The friends reckon they only have an argument at home about once every 1-6 months variously. Was VERY envious of that! And hopeful that my future may be better than my past!
