All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you warm to Hazel Woolley, or other unusual views.

Thanks to @LiterallyKnowsBest for the thread title idea. I also liked @LillianGish's suggestion which was Conversions abound and it’s not just Harrison - Lily’s kitchens, Hazel’s flat, Jazzer’s finances, Bert’s bungalow...come and discuss The Archers - are you a convert or could you be converted? and that seems like a good place to kick off this thread.

Who'll get the bungalow? Pip, Josh or A. N. Other?

Will Lily leave the cold calling behind and launch a bid to run LL when Elizabeth hangs up her clipboard?

Will Jazzer become a financial whiz after mastering Tracy's state of the art budgeting techniques, viz, writing it all down in a little notebook with a kitten on the front?

I seem to remember that Peggy delegated everything to do with her gracious legacy to Lillian? At least she would have a clue about how to interview somebody.

I like the proposed title, but it does remind me that nobody seems to be doing lambing this year. Or calving.

@LovedayCL admittedly the timing isn’t perfect. But Fallon went all holier than thou on Alice when she made a drunken pass at Harrison and then had a good bitching session about her with Emma. She’s ( Fallon) turning into a rather one dimensional character whose only reason for existing is to disapprove of others.

That’s kind of the same thing though isn’t it, Alice behaved badly with Harrison and Fallon (quite rightly) didn’t like that. So she doesn’t approve of what Amy did either. I just think, it’s a pretty universal rule that you don’t go after a friend’s partner or ex. Of all the men in the world etc.

I hate the storyline though, I just don’t want to hear any more Alice drama, they glance over so many storylines in The Archers but this one is interminable.

I hear you on Fallon’s disapproval one dimensional character though, it’s boring and her tone of voice is permanently pious - which is quite amusing when she’s not the one getting baptized

Agreed lovedaycl! So many other ( currently set aside) characters and potential storylines, they need to branch out , it’s getting tedious.

Agree. I’d like to see Usha have a juicy storyline. I’m sure there’s potential there.

I saw a tweet this week with a photo of 4 middle aged white male (I assume) SWs standing on set for their first face to face SW meeting since lockdown.

None of the characters are menopausal, perhaps a few are in debt, but their personalities have been kicked into the long grass, along with the topography of Ambridge.

Urgh. Do we know who wrote this week’s shite?

Jazzer supposedly totally having Tracey’s back, “What more could I want?” (Erm, someone who doesn’t pressurise you to risk your job?) Kate as an ultra attentive, wryly reminiscing mum. Phoebe as an always ambitious, born with drive daughter. Utter bollocks!

Like fuck would Pheobe buy her parents a goldfish each. The Ambridge character transplant fairy has been working overtime this past few weeks, it's been absolutely fucking appalling bar a couple of exceptions.

Nope. But apparently she used to play Kate? Now I've been looking at cast photos. Kirsty and Roy are also wrong but Lynda and Fairbrethren are spot on.

Yes. Kate was then played by Kellie Bright, Linda Carter in EE

I imagine Tracey as brown haired, tallish and slimmish, same as her sister.

Kate and Alice both blonde long hair. Debbie had shoulder length thick brown bob but now shorter hair and greying.

Jenny looks like Susan Penhaligon

Lillian is 5' 2, bottle blond, size 14 squeezed into a 12- or even a 10 in her more deluded days. She likes expensive animal print which is just as nasty as cheap animal print.

I see that as more Jerlene, but I have her as reddish-blonde (not her own colour) and with cleavage on show

Glad to see the back of Phoebe. What fun it will be to hear Roy and Kate competing to keep their goldfish alive. What a spot on choice of gift from an eco person like Phoebe.

Just looked up the tweet with the four white males. Keri Davies responded to someone making that point by saying the majority of the writers are female, but those four happen to be doing the scripts for the period being sorted out, and he can't remember the last time it was an all-male group.

Buying a living creature for someone else without prior discussion is grim. She should have got them a house plant.
