And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

When are Harrison and Fallon getting married? And where?

Minimammoth · 03/08/2018 20:29

You are not invited LassWink.?

Gruach · 03/08/2018 20:29

Exactly what I wanted to ask!

Surely not at Lower Loxley?

HatingTheBigShow · 03/08/2018 20:53

Good. That'll teach the little gobshite. Nearly killing his cousin did nothing to deter him from dealing but perhaps a stint as the posh, pretty boy in prison might have more of an effect.

SenoritaViva · 03/08/2018 21:56

Aren’t they getting married at a registry office then celebrating at The Bull?

Gruach · 03/08/2018 23:02

Oh, yes - someone did mention a registry office didn’t they? Thanks for the reminder Senorita.

When though?

echt · 03/08/2018 23:18

I'm trying to imagine Harrison dressed as Ginger Spice while he arrests Freddy.

LassWiADelicateAir · 03/08/2018 23:31

Wasn't Adam vile tonight? Not a shred of sympathy or understanding for Lexi. He is completely selfish.

Abra1de · 03/08/2018 23:33

Oh, I’d forgotten Freddie’s previous at Loxfest!

TigerTeatimes · 04/08/2018 00:41

I definitely was* echt*

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 04/08/2018 07:24

Adam was vile, Lass, and I thought Roy was a touch whiny as well. The poor woman is here without her children and really wants to see and stay with them, but they’re thinking only of themselves.

Gruach · 04/08/2018 08:06

Pretty sure any real life Roy would have anticipated that his girlfriend would want to spend as much of the school holidays as possible with her children. Why has he not arranged to use a portion of his own annual leave to go with her?

There was a definite undercurrent - from Roy and Adam - of assuming Lexi’s family life is less important than their own - and really just an impediment to their own wants.

D0do · 04/08/2018 08:19

Yes. I'm struggling with the concept of surrogacy, to be honest. I think the first time I came across the idea was when it was something extremely rare and 100% altruistic, e.g. a woman carrying a child for the daughter/sister who couldn't do it herself. But now we have a woman's body being used as not far short of a living incubator, and for all the obfuscation, it's clearly a commercial arrangement. I find it troubling on all sorts of levels.

I wish very much the SWs had not gone down this path. If Adam and Ian want to have a child, they could adopt or foster. Potentially a very interesting storyline if done properly. Not sure Adam is the right person, though. He's so self-absorbed I wonder if he would get through the assessment.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 04/08/2018 08:21

Well, quite. Or at the very least invited the girls to spend the summer holiday in Ambridge. Both men know she is doing this for her children and might have anticipated that she would want to spend time with them .

ppeatfruit · 04/08/2018 08:31

Ref. Fairbrother Pere` ( please excuse incorrect grammar) Yes Mrs Shappey That voice! and when you think of his looks Shock Blush

Ref. "The Arrest" Harrison did have his ( undesirable very pissed ) P.C. Plod mates to call on if he needed assistance, but would he do so? God, who invented stag nights? Not pleasant hearing IMO. Pearl clutching Grin

Gruach · 04/08/2018 08:35

Having her daughters to stay in Ambridge would be an excellent idea! (Though Lexi would probably be missing her home.)

I know a degree of pure exposition is inescapable in drama - but Roy and Lexi’s conversation was ridiculous. All that stuff would surely have been part of an ongoing discussion - not a big, dramatic revelation.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 04/08/2018 08:38

Well Freddie was being stupid beyond stupid to be handing this stuff out at Lower Loxley. Not to mention selfish and irresponsible. Zero sympathy here.

(Wasn’t it Wayne who got caught at Loxfest?).

ppeatfruit · 04/08/2018 08:46

He wasn't going to be "handing it out" though was he Dark? He was going to SELL it , serve him right.

Also it looks like Lily's luuurve bubble has burst, So we have plenty of weeping and wailing to look forward to from 'proud mother' Lizzie!

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 04/08/2018 08:50

Checking in after a brief gap of ten years not listening. It’s amazing a) how quickly you can catch up b) the pulling power of Giles/Herc/Gently

I assumed that the stripper thing was just as presented tbh: if you’re a bit insecure in your position in a new town then having it known that there are photos of you as a stripping cop on the Internet could cause serious problems. However it’s hugely unrealistic that best man (Christopher was it? He seems to have recovered nicely from the cleft palate surgery he was having last time I heard from him) would not have got straight onto Google for a look at the Ginger Spice pictures and a giggle the instant he got home.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 04/08/2018 09:05

I realise it wasn't for free!. Freddie was attempting to sell it to his mother's customers. Rash and selfish doesn't cover it.

ppeatfruit · 04/08/2018 09:21

I got a bit confused with whether the stag was actually at Lower Loxley or The Bull or both! Were they 'oiling up' at The Bull?

witchmountain · 04/08/2018 09:32

I think he was trying to hand one out for free to Toby to help keep him awake. He’d just stopped in on his way “into town” where he was going to sell them and had got slightly drunk on very strong beer which presumably made him more careless.

witchmountain · 04/08/2018 09:35

At Loxfest Freddie had bought some joints from Wayne. Harrison arrested Wayne and Fallon was furious. So definitely not one to turn a blind eye!

ppeatfruit · 04/08/2018 09:38

witch Thanks, the main problem (for me) was that most of the young male voices sound similar.

Gruach · 04/08/2018 09:42

If that’s what it’s called, ppeat! And then went on to LL’s Beer Fest as a surprise.

I guess the big LL wedding (that Elizabeth is hoping will open up new markets ...) will be off, once the news gets out?

Poor Freddie. He’s just a stupid boy. (Must admit I really don’t understand his motivation. Surely he has access to more money than he could spend already. Is it supposed to be recompense for being the not clever twin? Or will he blame absence of Nigel?)
