And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

It really is bizarre about Susan. Fallon made it perfectly clear that if she didn't 'fess up she'd be going to Lynda. And did it not occur to her that she's just ensured that working with Clarrie is going to be near-impossible?

Travelledtheworld · 29/08/2018 09:19

I think Susan was in a state of panic and just blurted out the first name that came into her head.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 09:38

The thing is - this opens up a whole new view of Susan’s interior world. And I’m just not sure they’ve laid the groundwork for such a revelation.

Must say though, the contrast between “I was born a Horrobin” Susan, rendered frantic with fear and shame over a hen night prank, and scion of the House of Pargetter Freddie, merely bored and frustrated at the consequences of serious crime, is sublime.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 09:45

Unless, (contradicting myself!) they’re saying Neil’s rise in status has driven her mad? (I recall she had a wobble when Chris married into Home Farm.) Now she’s shopping at Underwoods ...

TeenTimesTwo · 29/08/2018 09:48

Natasha's view of BF seems sound to me.

Have the script writers suddenly realised how hotchpotch it all is and they need an outsider to act as a spark to getting it sorted? Or is this all part of a long term plan? The farm has no vision or strategy. Just random bits all over the place.

Susan just has over inflated views of her own importance.

Have we heard what Ben's plans are next?

R4 · 29/08/2018 09:51

I hope that it's a silly something-and-nothing.
It would be awful if it was Susan's actions that somehow caused Neil to lose the coveted (by her) Managerial Status.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 09:55

I’d say Susan has an over-inflated perception of the inescapability of her lowly familial status - something that’s always more piercing when she’s forced into some new relationship with the people she considers superior to her.

DadDadDad · 29/08/2018 10:21

Hmm, the whole llama story has been played for laughs surely and so in that case Susan won't suffer any long-term llama drama karma. Grin

It will be resolved and forgotten about

R4 · 29/08/2018 10:43

Susan won't suffer any long-term llama drama karma.

And Neil's job as pig farma won't come to any harma? Phew.

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2018 11:32

Oh FAB R4 Grin I'd never have thought it of you Grin

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2018 11:38

I'm, not sure that many of us have proper formal ideas for our future lives, businesses etc. IMO Bridge Farm is probably one of many farms who cobble things together. They do certainly have the vision to be organic though.

I have wondered for a while why Helen doesn't make some sort of goat's cheese as well as BB , I suppose it could be instead of.

DadDadDad · 29/08/2018 12:43

Didn't you hear the news this morning (I swear I'm not making this up) - goats are attracted to people with happy faces so when they see Helen they'll run a mile!

Minimammoth · 29/08/2018 12:51

Long term llama, drama karma, has to be in the new thread title.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 13:01

Freddie’s steadying pills, Russell’s autumn leaving, Susan’s secret llama drama; Karma will come to them all in the end ...

birdsdestiny · 29/08/2018 13:04

Why do the goats like Lynda then? She doesn't strike me as particularly smiley.

DadDadDad · 29/08/2018 13:06

Yes, yes, all very good, but we're missing something: where's Pseudo?!

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2018 13:12

Susan's lying will really mess things up for both of them. Was it because Clarrie called her coward?

Dad Goats don't look at faces, they look at the bag that they hope might be bringing food for them. (then they rip the bag out of the hand that's holding it) ! true story!

I did love the irony of Helen dissing juicewoman's business expertise

All the areas rubbished by Natasha are those championed by Tom in particular. I heard that as Helen being supportive to Tom who was plainly upset by the analysis. And its a fair point if Natasha's business is very focused to say that a mixed farm is a different type of business (and long term less risky).

Right back at you Helen - making bad cheese in a building supplied by your parents with milk supplied by your parents whilst your kids are looked after by your parents and your huge legal bills are paid for by your parents........

Its a family farm. All of the current generations are continuing from a previous generation. Helen was the driving force behind the creation of the dairy - I remember her going off to college to get the qualifications. Pat was heavily involved but it was originally Helen's idea and creation and mainly her labour until they added the shop and took on extra help.

Her cheese going off the boil seems to be related to changing the milk source - another idea of Tom's and one which Helen initially opposed, concerned for the consistent quality of the milk. She has been proved correct.

Henry went to a child minder some days with wrap around care from GPs - hardly an unusual model. Rob stopped Helen working and left her with nothing of her own. Unless you blame her for Rob's abuse its pretty harsh to say she is sponging by taking help from the family business which she helped to build.

mermaidsandunicorns · 29/08/2018 15:14

Helens whinging about having to tell Henwee off constantly is grating on me - a lot

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2018 15:22

I agree CH8 Family farms are just that.

Helen should come on here and be advised to use positive reinforcement,. Her mentioning love bombing didn't last did it? He's obviously jealous and going through the difficult six year old stage a bit late.

Fink · 29/08/2018 17:59

Unless you blame her for Rob's abuse its pretty harsh to say she is sponging by taking help from the family business which she helped to build.

I don't think she's sponging in that respect, but she does seem to have a lot of childcare available even when she's not working. I speak as a fellow single parent who lives with my parents: they have to babysit for me when I'm at work outside of school hours, there's no way I would then take liberties by also asking them to babysit while I socialise, do hobbies etc. I socialise either with my child or during any school hours when I'm not working because it would be completely unfair on my parents to ask any more of them and I can't get in a professional babysitter while they're at home. I just don't see how Helen can justify so many coffees with Ian etc.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 19:12

Hmm Hmm Hmm

(Wednesday night ...)

TeenTimesTwo · 29/08/2018 19:15

Dry autumn at Lower Loxley, and the Fall of Freddie?

EBearhug · 29/08/2018 19:15

Yesterday I was shocked. Today I feel manipulated. But at least Clarrie's cheered up.

Gruach · 29/08/2018 19:15

Very tempted to apply to have Usha struck off ...
