And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

surely they can’t stop the selling of Home Farm in its tracks? We went through all that nonsense with roof and David not so long ago, the sale that never happens can’t be done so close together. It would make sense for Brian and Jenny to build a new house to go with the land surely?

I’m quite happy for the senior Grundys to take a step back for a while. If they’re safe and secure at Grange Farm that’s all to the good. I quite like the way they’re concentrating on the next generation in some detail. Though I’m puzzled as to whether Nic’s death was always in the long term plan or just an opportunistic headliner for Sepsis Week.

It’s fascinating to see how someone as apparently integrated as Emma is constantly finding herself rebuffed - banging her head against brick walls because she’s ‘poor’ and perceived as getting above herself. (The only person who actively cares, Jim, has his own agenda.)

Which of the First Family offspring is George friendly with? Are there any 13 year olds amongst them?

Nearest would be Ben, who must be about 16 if he's just taken his GCSEs, but 13yos don't normally become close friends with 16yos.

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo, and welcome to our new/returning co-posters!

Love that suggestion about Roger Allam getting a guest role too. Maybe there could be a mass Cabin Pressure incursion, but I don't expect they could afford Benedict Cumberbatch now.

And Ben’s already paired up with Ruairi. (Mirroring Freddie and Johnny.)

George needs to find an Archer pal, sharpish - if he’s not to go the way of Jamie Perks ...

Thanks for the thread. Another great title! Hannah's outburst was weird, but she's not really wrong. She'd have been better off advising Neil to be careful than going off at him like that. Susan is so exasperating isn't she? I wish Neil could have stood up to her.

Thanks for the new thread psuedo also Mrs Shappey thanks for putting me right about the town of CRAMANT silly me Blush. My excuse is that I was LA on my laptop and the volume is not very clear.

Interesting contrast between the bullying, snobbish attitude shown by Robin the Roue towards poor Rex and his dripping insincere honey when he spoke to Ruth. (I have met people like that) Lets hope that his meeting with Jill proves to be what he deserves.

Showing my age here but I remember Susan being extremely disparaging about "Neil's pigs" early in their relationship, his being a manager is EXACTLY what she wanted!

I reckon Harrison's confession about his stripper past is a total red herring to bemuse himself. It will get mentioned in dispatches and he will have made himself look far more glamorous than he really us.

I call double bluff!

I reckon that either the SWs HAD to get rid of Anisha (maybe the actress has too many other commitments or whatever) or it's a deliberate ploy to maintain the misery for Alastair and Shula. It's getting too bleedin' much for me.

Anisha had to go so that Pip ends up with Rex

I agree, Anisha leaving, and in such a hurry was all quite odd.

I don't understand how Hannah thinks Emma is pulling strings when she's baying for Justin's blood and trying to show him up publicly.

definitely boop for "Plenty of that on the farm already" from Jill Grin

Hannah is completely bonkers. Emma should be making a noise about Justin reneging on the planning consent (although changing the terms of the affordable homes contribution isn't quite the walk in the park presented here)

As an aside has anyone here been posting on the Lolita thread in AIBU?

I'm on the Lolita thread, and believe it is a great book.

But if I met someone who described it as one of their "favourites" I would be wary of them and want to keep my daughters away. Robin's comment makes me think either he's never read the book or is a pervert or lacks empathy so utterly missed the point.

MeanTangerine · 03/08/2018 08:57

Agree with Fraxinus that Harrison was not really/not just a stripper. When he initially warned Chris off he sounded really unpleasant, and like the stripper thing was an excuse to try to stop Chris investigating any further.

I also think Robin may be on the verge of bankruptcy.

Hannah is a cow. She might have a point but she’s sounding quite deranged.

Wouldn't Hannah be less likely to get a house as she has only recently moved to Ambridge and because the Grundys are a family of two adults and two children?

Report
Gruach · 03/08/2018 12:56

The Hannah thing is weird. It’s just not how you behave when you’re newly arrived in a place, even if you did live there in the past. Nor would anyone attack their new boss like that on the strength of a partially heard conversation.

Unsatisfactory ...
