And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

Suspect so, ADaSK ...

(Definitely lacking a ‘cataclysmic end to life as we know it’ emoji.)

Saffkat · 05/08/2018 09:30

I'm wondering if tonight's episode will be a continuation of Friday's, and will have Freddy being let off somehow? Not by Harrison but by his police friend who sounds a bit of a maverick and will want to deliver rough/community justice? He comes across (the other copper) as someone who won't want his lads night ruined by having to go back on duty.

Saffkat · 05/08/2018 09:35

Not that I'm condoning drug dealing, just thinking of how TA fairies like to deal with cataclysmic events

MeanTangerine · 05/08/2018 10:06

I don't expect the SW to go down this route, but if the police thought Elizabeth was turning a blind eye to Freddie's dealing at Lower Loxley, they might move to stop Lower Loxley's licence to sell alcohol being renewed. That would put a bit of a spanner in the works.

ppeatfruit · 05/08/2018 12:23

I just listened to the film and I noticed that Jill indirectly told Grandad Fairbrother that he was full of shit Grin Well done Jill!

Gruach · 05/08/2018 15:21

Hmph! Hmm

Have just checked the time. Again.

Shades of Helen’s trial ...

R4 · 05/08/2018 15:44

Does Harrison only catch criminals when he's not on duty?

This could play out in an interesting direction. Harrison was not sober. The villagers could close ranks against him and give a different version, whilst mentioning that he has a history of lying (the cricket club). This is a second member of Fallon's family (father, step-cousin) that he has nabbed. This could be the end of him as far as Ambridge is concerned.Shock

ppeatfruit · 05/08/2018 15:54

R4 Harrison was watching his drinking, also Chris saw it all and undid his handcuffs, his police mates were there too. I heard Lilly raising her voice against Harrison though.

Very unlikely for the villagers to gang up against him.

Gruach · 05/08/2018 15:54

Yeah ... Guess there’s some potential Borchester Life awkwardness if any photographers spotted him posing as Ginger Spice! Not easy to be taken seriously if your publicity precedes you to the cop shop.

I’m sure he and Fallon will survive. But I hope Freddie can escape to SA - preferably legally.

D0do · 05/08/2018 17:09

Gosh, I don't. I want him to be prosecuted and get a stiff sentence. He could easily have killed somebody with what he's been doing. He's been incredibly stupid and selfish, no matter how charming he is.

ppeatfruit · 05/08/2018 17:53

Gruach My knowledge of the law is sketchy but I doubt very much that even if Freddie just gets a caution, or community service, he'll also be banned from travelling abroad for the forseeable.

One of my friends is married to a bloke who was in similar trouble and they've never been abroad.

Bekabeech · 05/08/2018 18:07

I think the problem with going abroad is more one of being able to get a visa.

ppeatfruit · 05/08/2018 18:14

Yes Beka My friend's dh can't even get one for the EU.

There used to be the "short sharp shock' sentences but they didn't keep youngsters on the straight and narrow. They were discussing it on R4 yesterday.

Gruach · 05/08/2018 19:05

Lily ...

Gruach · 05/08/2018 19:08

This must be a terrible situation for Elizabeth.

Sad
LassWiADelicateAir · 05/08/2018 19:11

Very unlikely for the villagers to gang up against him

I doubt Emma or Hannah or the Button family will have much sympathy for a very privileged young man being caught dealing drugs.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 05/08/2018 19:38

Freddie being whingey about not being able to go home.... grr! Did he never think through the risks and possible consequences?

D0do · 05/08/2018 19:52

Agreed, Lass!

Nigel would have been so disappointed in Freddie. If I were Elizabeth, I would have struggled to be supportive, learning what he's done.

NorthernLurker · 05/08/2018 22:04

Poor Elizabeth. She has no idea what either of her kids have been up to. Freddie's whining was unbearable. He really is dreadful.

LassWiADelicateAir · 06/08/2018 00:18

Freddie was being such an idiot in that interview.

cheminotte · 06/08/2018 08:11

How long before Elizabeth finds out that Lilly has known for ages? A double betrayal.
Am not surprised David refused to have Freddie, surely doesn’t want a bad influence for his own sons. Staying with Auntie Shula will be much less fun.

ppeatfruit · 06/08/2018 08:51

cheminotte Lilly is also trying to save her own skin because the twins were blackmailing each other weren't they? "I won't tell about the drugs, if you don't tell about Russ" Was Lilly's refrain to Freddie. Poor Lizzie.

Bekabeech · 06/08/2018 09:33

Also at Brookfield with Harvest there will often nobody around to keep an eye on Freddie. Shula works next to her home and can drag him to the stables.

R4 · 06/08/2018 09:41

Oh-oh. Are we stabling together Freddie the druggie and Alistair the gambler?

ppeatfruit · 06/08/2018 09:43

It was coming across that Freddie is very frightened of Ellis He possibly thinks that, LL might get damaged by him or his cronies if he grasses on Ellis.
