Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

Did David practice how to make that offer of money in the most graceless way he possibly could, do we think? He made it sound as if Jolene had begged them for the money!

Report
Stickerrocks · 02/09/2015 19:22

Jolene will persuade Kenton to accept the money. David has cashed in his savings, Lizzie scrapes together the cash. Shula goes to raid her piggy bank only to find that Alistair has gambled it all away from wherever he's been hiding since he became elusive. They can't scrape together enough money to help Kenton after all and the feud gets 100 times worse.

Name changer here too. I have just caught up. I "like" the way the R&H storyline is being handled. Very scarily realistic and slow. And I like the ambiguity of things too- we don't actually know what happened on Thursday, we can only guess at it.

On the Bull storyline- if I was an Archer, the LAST person I would have nominated to offer the money would be David... I mean, come on...

Late to the new thread, thankyou Pseudo.

I turned off tonight. Pip's voice just does my head in. She relentless and boring. Just like her Ma and Pa.

Yes, I like the Helen/Knob line too. Just find it hard to hear, but it's good. And good that issues like that are being aired. I think Tom is keeping his counsel and gathering evidence.

I couldn't t stand listening to David talking to Jolene. Stupid plan anyway. I can't see how it won't feed Kenton's paranoia.

As for Peep ....... Noooooo

I don't think David was nominated, I think he took himself off there because Pip gave him a life lesson (dressed up as 'isn't that what you and mum always say?). And didn't Shula and Elizabeth decide not to bail him out yesterday or day before? Or did I drift off for a minute?

Anyway, I bet none of you can wait to hear what I have to say about Cosi and La Boheme can you? [sniff]

David was wanting to make himself feel better. Another self-appointed project manager. Angry

I hope Kenton just lets the Bull go under. It would be an opening for the cider shed. Clarrie could cook meals. She'd have to give up the dairy as there are only 24 hours in the day, I've heard. No, Emma could do the dairy. She could gossip with her mum in the dairy all day. They'll rumble Knob that way, no? And rescue Helen and Henry.

BTW di Roy not get offered some interim managership thingy at GG? What was that about? Maybe I dreamt it.

What date is the RT event? In Brum?

Can anyone remember the state of Rob and Jesse's marriage when they first arrived?

Report
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/09/2015 07:08

Dire, I think, vix. Jess refused to move to Ambridge for a long, long time. Her father was ill and she wanted to be near him, which was fair enough, but she and Rob seemed to make little effort to see each other at weekends. When she did arrive, it was evident that there were longstanding tensions. Then we had the disastrous party with the dressed salmon. Sad

Report
Gruach · 03/09/2015 07:08

What I specifically remember is that for quite a while I wondered if Jess was Rob's imaginary friend. Then it began to seem as if the SWs intended her as a new silent character - permanently in another county, the backdrop to Rob's affair.

He badmouthed her before she appeared - telling anyone who'd listen that she didn't want to "start a family" even though it was the one true wish of his life.

Did we hear them in Hampshire (?) when he went to see her for the weekend? Can't recall - but I think it was after one of those weekends he came back and dumped Helen.

The thing is, their marriage was essentially over by the time she moved to Ambridge. I guess she must have known that on some level; she always sounded rather desperate and in need of Ambridge validation - as he grew increasingly sneery and aggressive towards her.

I wonder what on earth they had to call a relationship in Canada. Will the SWs ever allow us to hear about that?

'Well Rob didn't want me to move straight away, he kept telling me to wait until he got settled so I stayed in Hampshire. I wasn't very happy about that but he kept making excuses as to why I shouldn't come. Then I moved up & into the cottage he'd found and I thought I was getting on well with everyone so held a big party. I asked Helen if she'd help with the catering, I didn't realise what had been going on.'
I tried to nc to Jess but it's too early - was up to late.

I think Rob is preparing to oust Henry- did you hear "I wonder what mischief he's been up to" and "I hope he's not been too much of a handful". Setting him up to be too much for Helen when she's pregnant/new baby......

I mean he is a deeply horrible child..............

Yes Gruach Jess was " looking after her father" while the S.W.'s worked out a suitably unpleasant storylne SOC approved for her

I'm always fascinated by the strength of the anti David feeling. He always seems to me to be one of the most rounded and sympathetic characters. Is it a Team David or Team Ruth thing?
