Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

OP posts:
DadDadDad · 02/09/2015 13:17

I've just spat most of my lunch over my PC - it's not immediately obvious how that sentence relates to the ones before and after... Smile

Are you just confessing to generally poor eating habits? Grin

I dread to think what my growing inside my PC keyboard...

DadDadDad · 02/09/2015 13:18

*may be growing

Minimammoth · 02/09/2015 13:43

I am so behind. Please someone face up to Rob. I wonder how many times he raped Jess? ( still think it was his child)

ppeatfruit · 02/09/2015 13:50

Thanks to Psuedo for the new thread and thanks to Gruach for reminding me about it Grin.

BOOP for Lynda's wonderful pronounciation of C'zee and her and Jim's disgreement over their Italian also Bridge Farm's ulterior motives.

I reckon that (after Listening Again and reading all your posts since i've returned to my laptop) the 'was it rape scene?' was a way for knob to get H preg. because he knew she didn't want a baby straight away and she probably uses female condoms or some such, and she keeps them in the bathroom ,hence he didn't want her going upstairs. There have been enough 'normal sex" scenes in the past to think that he doesn't do brutality normally.

Scarydinosaurs · 02/09/2015 14:17

Superb blog! I really enjoyed that.

I think part of the problem with Helen, is that in her own controlling way, she strives for this unattainable perfection, and by acknowledging what Rob is doing to her, she is admitting that it was a mistake, that she's wrong- and think about her over emphasis on how 'perfect' everything is, this will be incredibly hard for her.

All through her pregnancy with Henry and managing AO, she has been so detail orientated. It is a flaw in her personality that she can't see things for what they are. She's trying so hard to keep this fairy tale together.

It's time she confided in somebody- Shula?

Scarydinosaurs · 02/09/2015 14:19

mini me too. I would love to see that be exposed.

Davros · 02/09/2015 14:27

jessiemcjessie pleased to be of assistance! We should work out an MN signal to re if yse eachither and anyone else who signs up.
I was torn between Friday because of Doctor Who or Saturday for The Archers but DSis can't get off work and now I'm really leased I chose Saturday. Also booked into Eastenders (I don't watch but DSis does) and Paul Hollywood. Happy days!

Dumdedumdedum · 02/09/2015 14:47

Mini, Scaryd, me too but I understand I missed the scene where Jess acknowleged to Rob, in a phone conversation, that she had "had relations" (or a one-night stand?) with someone other than him during the right time-frame. Mind you, still leaves it a 50/50 chance of Rob being the father and having diddled the paternity test.

Dumdedumdedum · 02/09/2015 14:50

Colour me green, Davros Grin I wish I were in England that week-end! I'd love to have gone to that! Mind you, I'd never heard of the RT Festival, either! Do enjoy it, everyone lucky enough to be going!

CheezyBlasters · 02/09/2015 15:33

Helen is in some kind of shock state, I really do not think it is about her being a perfectionist. When a trauma happens to someone out of the blue, they do not react in ways you might expect.

I agree with a previous poster who said Helen is like an elastic band being twisted tighter and tighter. Meanwhile Knob continues the undermining and isolating.

I think the writers have done some good research for this story.

WipsGlitter · 02/09/2015 15:45

It's awful to listen to but so well done. I love him promoting himself to project manager.

Also lining up for the "Shula has no money in the bank" storyline.

ppeatfruit · 02/09/2015 15:53

Cheezy I agree the SL is done well but I do have my doubts about Pat's capitulation, and why couldn't she see that Hell was in an emotional turmoil at the opera?

You can always tell when even your adult child is in a state.

ExitPursuedByABear · 02/09/2015 15:55

What is the lowdown on Shula and Al?

Helenluvsrob · 02/09/2015 15:58

I really don't understand why I have a bruise on my wrist or somewhere else...... Rob loves me so much ... doesn't he ....

CheezyBlasters · 02/09/2015 16:01

I think Helen would have told Pat if Pat hadn't said what she did when she did.
I don't know, ppeat, maybe she was feeling guilty about being unsupportive about the marriage and then swung too much the other way?

Minimammoth · 02/09/2015 16:16

Wait until she has a black eye.

redshoeblueshoe · 02/09/2015 16:18

Helen glad to see you back, can you just clear something up for us, was that a rip in your dress when you were at the opera ?
and when are you going to POAS

RockingStones · 02/09/2015 17:47

Marking place on lovely new fred. Thanks, Pseudo. Finding the current SLs quite disheartening - the Knob behaviour is especially harrowing I find. But I'll stick with it. A regular on new - interim - name change. Just till I have some inspiration. Smile

Gruach · 02/09/2015 17:55

Mmm ... I'd say my mood has been rather sombre today. Not perhaps because of Hel/Rob - but when everything else coming out of my radio is unspeakably miserable it would be nice to find a little light relief in Ambridge. I hope they can offer a significant positive S/L soon.

Helenluvsrob · 02/09/2015 18:07

Redshoe

Of course it wasn't a rip, as i said before I think maybe it was faulty stitching or something that I didn't notice in the shop ...okay.... And I thought I'd mended it pretty well.

Rob is so caring. Look how he's helping out with the shop and all. I know he can be a bit tetchy at times but it's only because he wants the best for me and Henry and he's right of course, he doesn't need to look for another job yet. We can manage ...I think

And mum... Well she's starting to really like him. I can't worry her can I.

RockingStones · 02/09/2015 18:17

Maybe you've reached that age when you need reading glasses, Helen? Grin I expect Rob will be only too glad to point that out to you, and make you an appointment, esp. now he is PROJECT manager. For everything. And of course he won't need glasses till he's at least 65. It must be so lovely having such a caring partner. You ARE so lucky.

RockingStones · 02/09/2015 18:20

Oops, sorry, husband not partner. I think it was missing the wedding that made me forget that detail. Sorry again. Here are some flowers.Flowers

Gruach, I think that's it. The real news is unrelenting misery. And I am a card carrying depressive too and need a medication change, I think.

InimitableJeeves · 02/09/2015 18:25

I think it will be fascinating to see what happens if Helen isn't pregnant. It probably isn't beyond Rob to keep raping her every month in the hope of striking lucky. He really is so horrible.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 02/09/2015 18:34

Place marking. Tx for Fred

AskingForAPal · 02/09/2015 19:11

Checking in! Had lost you all for ages. Namechanger here.

I too think Tom is onto Rob, he didn't believe that bruise lie for one second.
