Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

Just picking up on the fascinating subject of Kathy's CV, slight modification to what you said Gruach: if I recall correctly she was GG health club manager, then the golf club, then filled in at the health club after Martyn Gibson fired her and the health club manager suddenly and conveniently stropped off. However both she and Caroline agreed that it was beneath her and didn't pay enough, but at that time Caroline was very anti having an assistant manager for GG as a whole and was working herself into the ground doing it all herself.

Kathy got a job as Manager of Felpersham Travelodge or some such place, then about a week later Oliver convinced Caroline they needed help and so she coaxed Kathy to come back and take the job (alongside a sub plot in which Lynda considered putting herself forward and Robert talked her out of it by playing up her commitment to village life). Roy must still have been at LL then.

Why sad Pseudo? Do you mean sad as in how it was used in my student days is you are such a total Archers geek Jessie, reading MN and the Plarchers and Shambridge, and the Archers Facebook page and Nancy Banks Smith and this new blog as well.....actually seeing it all written down like that Blush Smile

And I am not helping myself with my previous post! I have a very full life Outside The Home, honest....

Stickerrocks · 02/09/2015 08:43

I think we're more likely to have to change the title to The One Where Rob Kicks Helen at the Ball (there's bound to be another one soon to give him the chance to do his Rhett Butler impression again).

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/09/2015 08:52

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo! Optimistic title, but one we can all get behind, I imagine.

Gruach · 02/09/2015 08:57

Well remembered Jessie!

But it's a shame; if "they" had given Lynda the job the entire GG story would be a hundred times more entertaining. Rather hard to understand their thinking. Again.

Thank you for the link to the Ambridge Observer, it's scarily good. I do hope she's one of us ...

PseudoBadger · 02/09/2015 09:10

Sad because of the realistic and tragic portrayal of Helen's POV Jessie, not like you're a loser Grin

I think Knob will now have to treat himself to a very expensive gift for becoming Project Manager and I'm damn sure Hellin will not object Hellin get yourself on MN so we can tell you to LTB

InimitableJeeves · 02/09/2015 09:44

I don't get why Rob claims to have such wonderful experience of supervising builders anyway? It's not exactly a routine part of a dairy manager's job.

redshoeblueshoe · 02/09/2015 09:44

Jessie thanks for the Ambridge Observer

InimitableJeeves · 02/09/2015 09:45

And I bet he ends up having a major argument with whoever he appoints resulting in them walking out and the whole project costing three times as much as it should.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 02/09/2015 09:50

Hullo! thanks for the thread.. sounds like I need to listen to the film.

NotdeadyetBOING · 02/09/2015 10:08

Many thanks for the new thread Pseudo. Knob's unspeakableness is reaching new giddy heights. I want his comeuppance to be suitably painful and drawn out (when it comes - please can it COME?!)….

redshoeblueshoe · 02/09/2015 10:25

And so to last night was it just me who found it chilling when Knob said
I don't know how people will react to being channelled so rigidly

Hellin when someone tells you who they are listen to them

Of course he knows how they'll react Angry Sad

SimoneDeBeaver · 02/09/2015 10:35

YY, Knob was grim again last night.

I wonder whether Charlie will find anything, somehow it will get to Adam, and then Ian ... who (as long as no character transplant) is a good enough friend with the emotional intelligence to actually sit Hellin down and talk to her.

Davros · 02/09/2015 10:47

Hello Everyone, I am a devoted film listener so I don't often contribute to these threads but I read them and thoroughly enjoy them. I have to resist all week and catch up. I have been listening on and off, mostly on, for my whole life (now 55!).
Anyway, I am going to The Archers session at the Radio Times Festival on 26th September. The blurb says "The show's editor, SOC, will take us behind the scenes of the world's longest-running radio soap, and will be joined by Charles Collingwood, Carole Boyd, Louiza Patikas and Timothy Watson, chaired by Eddie Mair". I am treating my DSis, who is also a devoted listener, so we have VIP tickets, giving us seats at the front!!! Any ideas of what to say if the opportunity arises? Anyone else going?

Gruach · 02/09/2015 11:13

So Rob will still be alive on the 26th? That's a pity.

Sounds fun Davros - particularly with the addition of E.M.. Will try to think of a question nearer to the day. Though I hope they've provided security for Timothy Watson!

Davros · 02/09/2015 11:27

Shall I look for bruises? (Over infested)

Stickerrocks · 02/09/2015 11:40

Very jealous, Davros. Brian & Shula dropped in at an evening with Tim Bentinck I went to shortly after Nigel's demise. They all signed scripts for use which looked as though they were still typed on a proper typewriter, but it could have been that Tim has a dodgy printer.

redshoeblueshoe · 02/09/2015 11:40

Is that infested bruises Grin

Davros · 02/09/2015 12:07

Tickets are still available!

Scarydinosaurs · 02/09/2015 12:12

Rob was so manipulative last night, but I do think Tom is onto him.

Gruach · 02/09/2015 12:15

Johnny has the measure of Rob. But he too has been silenced lately.

Just let Kirsty catch sight of that bruise ...

JessieMcJessie · 02/09/2015 12:48

Davros I love you! I had not heard of the RT festival and have just booked a ticket to that session. Hellen and Knob IN REAL LIFE with EDDIE MAIR! OMG I am TOO excited. ( hope Eddie make stops that old windbag Collingwood droning on too much though. I do love Brine but he is Not My Priority at the moment Smile.
Oh and thanks for the clarification re "sad", Pseudo but this latest turn of events proves that I most definitely am (says DH, who wanted to go and view houses on that day). Grin

Stickerrocks · 02/09/2015 12:59

I wanted to go but have to work that day. Darn!

Swannykazoo · 02/09/2015 13:02

That blog is amazing. I've just spat most of my lunch over my PC.
