Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

Don't get me wrong, I am not missing Kathy's moaning
I remember her leaving the golf club with all Martin Gibson's fiddling of the books that also came to NOTHINGAngry

Why couldn't Roy do the temp job then?

YY I hadn't thought of that Chris and Jamie as being young'uns done good.

ALSO that line at the end - I'm happy to be Project Manager - work-wise, he is JUST like a caricature of an odious Apprentice contestant - totally self-absorbed and quick to big himself up when the going's good and quick to shift blame when SurAlan Charlie looks a bit closer in the BL Boardroom

The One Where she Thinks About It Very Briefly But Then Conveniently Forgets/ Has the Thought Driven From Her Mind By Some Well Timed and Tiny Kindness??

Thanks for new thread btw Pseudo - we can but dream...

It would be excellent if the thread title could come true. I know that it would be very realistic for marital abuse to go on for years, but surely it's highly unrealistic for Rob to get away with so much that so many people know about for so long? I really want absolutely everything to come out so that we can have a gloriously satisfying episode where a Rob is made to squirm and squirm and, preferably, ends up in prison.

Report
Gruach · 01/09/2015 22:52

Not prison - he'd enjoy that too much. I want his probably perfectly nice parents to witness his downfall. That would hurt him more.

Thank you Pseudo - you've Project Managed the transition to and setting up of a new thread with customary aplomb. Flowers

No, but if they tell us all someone has a job, they shouldn't forget that a few months down the line. Continuity and all that.

I've had to work with Project Managers of the sort I suspect Rob is going to be. Although they weren't deliberately sabotaging anything.

I wish...she should have done that the other night.

I still haven't listened since last Thursday, so am using the thread(s) to keep up until I can. Thanks for the new thread pseudo and thanks for linking to the original one as well. I was the first to reply on that one - so happy to find a TA thread! I can't believe Rob's been there for 2 years! 2 years!!! And on that thread HWMNBN is named - what were we thinking?!

BlackeyedSusan · 01/09/2015 23:20

I have missed a week or two of episodes. Has charlie got any proof of anything yet?

Report
BoreOfWhabylon · 01/09/2015 23:20

I missed any GG manager conversations (could only half-listen due to Guests) - what's occurring?

And thanks, as always, Pseudo

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo but it is surely going to be difficult for Helen to locate them, as is will be for Jolene to find Kenton's.

thanks for linking the thread

Haven't posted on the last few threads (though I've just finished reading the last one) but, like lots of you, feel disturbed by last Thursday/Friday's episodes.

So - many thanks for another new thread, Pseudo Flowers

How long is this Rob thing going to go on for? Please make it end. Badly (for him)

At the moment there aren't any happy plot lines. I neef something positive, all gloom and dread isn't what I'm looking for. Village Hall, Shop, Ambridge Organics shop, The Bull, Pip staying, etc, all grim.

I think Peggy should have punched Susan BTW.

On Rob, I think the best thing to have happen would be for Charlie to tell Adam, Adam to tell Helen that Rob is blackmailing Charlie for a good reference and that it's all her fault for not keeping her stupid mouth shut. helen of course wouldn't believe it so then Adam would also have to come clean with Ian. Or something. no, that won't really work except hurt everyone except Rob. The dowry will go, he'll divulge the news of The Kiss anyway, he'll take over from helen and go head to head with Tom (who is clearly on to him). Henry will have to go to boarding school when any Robspawn comes along and we'll be five years later and Helen will probs be a complete wreck.

Thank you for this thread, PseudoB, it's great to find a place where most participants could enter Mastermind with "The History of 'The Archers' since the first night ITV was broadcast" as their specialist subject [big grin] Thanks to you, I started listening again (well, to the episodes from last Thursday on) and agree that the Hellbent and Throb stuff is absolutely chilling. What about that bruise, eh, as GaspO mentioned on the last page of the last thread? Very disturbing. Also disturbing is how Hellbent is now rewriting recent history in her mind. Extremely well done, I have to admit.

Could I apologise to the people in the last thread for whom my comment about TA being taken off air caused an attack of the vapours [big grin] ? I have been a conspiracy theorist about this for many years, since even before Nigel fell off the roof, believing that the BBC Big Plan was to drive listeners away in droves with the stupidity and lack of continuity of their plot lines, so that they could say, in all truth, that nobody was listening so it had to come to an end Sad

EBearhug : Don't get me wrong, I am not missing Kathy's moaning

I speeeeeet on your past Continuity. Says SOC, regularly.

ABit Love "Robspawn"

She has bruises. He is "Project Manager". This is so much better on radio than it would be on telly

Don't worry Dumdedum (Is that "Bar" for short or just "Green"?) we're all on the look out for Archers destroying schemes.

Reading the lovely, life changing vintage thread that Pseudo linked at the end of the previous one reminded me of how convinced I was that moving the Tiger/Pusscat denouement to the Paul affair to AmEx was the beginning of a plan to remove the original TA from R4 and then close it down for lack of audience. (At the time there was a terrifying amount of newspaper and R4 discussion about the "aging audience" and needing to appeal to the youth. Hah!)

BOOP point for the actor who plays Neil. I do enjoy the way he can say "Oh yeah?" when talking to Susan in a manner which conveys that he's thinking "Oh, God, what's she come up with this time?"

Knob's project management is no doubt going to be of the standard he brought to interviewing managers for AO and then supervising them, persuading Tom to order non-organic pig food and his attempts to buy in the wrong sort of cattle after Tony's accident. Have we decided if it's a bid to sabotage the business or just rank incompetence? One thing's for sure - when things go wrong he'll come up smelling of roses. I'm hoping the fact that Helen has so much family around her on a day to day basis means that someone will notice what's happening though it seems that it's more and more Knob who drops Henry with Pat and Tony (giving him maximum ingratiation opportunities) to keep Helen at home with her name tapes. He certainly won't be applying for any new jobs - much better to be your own boss where your incompetence can't be uncovered.

InimitableJeeves · 02/09/2015 08:02

If they're trying to reduce the audience, surely they're going the wrong way about it with the flood and Helen storylines? And they must be sorely disappointed, whenever I go on iPlayer it's there in the list of most popular programmes.

Thanks for the new thread. The last one suddenly took off, didn't it!

No comeuppance for Rob in the lifetime of this thread, I fear.
