Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

Is the aim to have TA totally populated with old ladies by the end of 2015? has someone told the social work department, and they've not got a GP any more and the vicar has gone in to hiding.

Gruach · 22/09/2015 20:15

But Carol was there on the night Grace died - so it might well still be a live memory for her.

It was all quite bizarre and seemed to go on for much longer than 13 minutes. I disagree about it being in poor taste (who for?) - they clearly wanted to throw in something for anyone old enough or informed enough to recognise the repeated lines. But if I'd been Carol going out to the car for an earring I would have felt a shiver down my back. And the died in her arms on the way to hospital thing was rather clumsy.

But at least we have Brethren at Arms to look forward to.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/09/2015 20:32

I do hope they get rid of Carol (by jailing her for murrrderrr) and keep Hester.

Loved her.

"And then, of course, she killed him" Grin

O I am so behind - been falling asleep and then no internet last night (!)

CuttedUpPear · 22/09/2015 22:59

Going back to date (rape) night...
How come that people in TA need such a well defined window for having sex? (See: Susan's chili. Actually don't; best keep your eyes shut for that one).
But the youngest at Brookfield was conceived during a weekend at Blackpool or suchlike.

In RL don't most people just get on with it at whim whenever they happen to find themselves in bed together and awake? I don't mean all the time but my DCs certainly didn't have to wait for a date or a holiday to get themselves conceived.

I don't see how avoiding date nights or keeping Henry at home is going to help Helen - surely she's just as vulnerable by being in bed with Knob every night?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 23:36

The youngest at Brookfield was actually conceived on top of a hay wagon - it was buttock-clenchingly clear what was going on (Ruth actually moaned)

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 23:39

Thing is that the rest of us don't exist only during a 15-minute window 6 days a week - if we did we would have to schedule procreation very precisely Grin

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 23:43

it's odd though that Helen came back from the "honeymoon" being embarrassingly almost-explicit to her mother about Rob's performance ( again) as if they'd been at it like rabbits the entire week but since then it seems it only happens when the microphones are there & henry isn't

But it doesn't do to delve too deeply into RL in Ambridge or we'd need to know how Helen manages to tear herself away from MN for long enough to do any work at all Grin

BYOSnowman · 22/09/2015 23:52

Odd episode. The whole grace thing was totally inappropriate given Jill was there.

And why was Peggy so quick to dismiss Hester's comment when jenn has told her all about the other circumstantial evidence she holds

R4 · 23/09/2015 08:33

Can the next title involve something about the SW losing the plot:
Exhibit 1: the weird sisters weird GG meeting
Exhibit 2: HellRob's sex-by-appointment schedule
Exhibit 3: Ian asking for an 'exclusive' on geese. On a brand that no-one has heard of. Did he ask about feed or housing conditions or any other standards/assurance; no, just "can I have an exclusive". How many is he buying for these rights btw, did anyone hear.
Exhibit 4: I'm bored now. You know the list. You don't need me to enumerate them all.

We are not in a good place at the moment.

BYOSnowman · 23/09/2015 09:06

Agree r4

What's he going to do if someone within 10 miles buys goose from another provider?

Gruach · 23/09/2015 09:19

Well they wouldn't be able to call theirs "Pip's Extra-Posh Hollowtree Geese" would they?

For once I have no immediate ideas on titles. Do like Weird Sisters though. Covers a lot of ground.

Gruach · 23/09/2015 09:22

All's Fair in Brotherly Love and Marital War?

Gruach · 23/09/2015 09:25

Forget that. I'm moving with the times:

The Archers, Late September and Early October. The Date Rape Chronicles.

R4 · 23/09/2015 09:30

Title: Has TA been failing in its emissions since VW left?

InimitableJeeves · 23/09/2015 09:47

It is odd about the geese exclusive. On the face of it, there is nothing to stop the Fairbrethren selling the geese to a supplier outside the 10 mile zone who in turn sells them to restaurants within it. And it's not as if people are going to flock to Grey Gables just because they buy their geese from a new supplier no-one's ever heard of.

R4 · 23/09/2015 10:06

It's all very odd. He's never asked for an exclusive on Tom Archer sausages or Sterling Gold or Brookfield beef. Do you think that Jill asked Carol to cast a spell?

And it's not as if people are going to flock to Grey Gables just because they buy their geese from a new supplier no-one's ever heard of.
You never know, they might go and have a gander. ba-boom-tish.

ppeatfruit · 23/09/2015 12:15

Cutted Nice to hear from you, we haven't heard from you for a while Grin

ref. date'rape' scene. Maybe Hell has been deliberately sleeping in Henry's room and or having a 'headache'. We aren't told are we?

EBearhug · 23/09/2015 12:26

I'm glad it's not just me who has been seeing current headlines and had to think, "they don't mean Vanessa Whitburn, it makes more sense if it's not about her..."
