Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 22/09/2015 13:30

If your other half told you they were toxic and they had proved it through a standing up - would you insist?

LyndaNotLinda · 22/09/2015 13:40

R4 - she's not standing up to him because she's scared of him :(

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 13:47

Did he say that Pat, Tony & Tom all know about this plan? Did he say (or imply) it was mentioned when they were all there? (Need to listen again obv - I will in a few minutes Grin - I was interrupted last night Angry)

Anyway if he did say/imply that, & it's not true, is he gambling on Helen not asking them because it would make her look silly?

& might that backfire?

(As it's the first brazen bit of gaslighting he's done I think? & Helen is beginning to get wise to him?)

BYOSnowman · 22/09/2015 13:52

When pat walks in and asks what the hell that pen is doing there I think Helen will know she's not going mad!!

Toomuchtea · 22/09/2015 14:13

I think he just said they all knew about it - which they might well do if he's told them it's his and Helen's idea.

I can see Helen asking them because she has begun to doubt him, but the fact they say they already know will be enough to make her doubt herself. I don't think she'll suspect Rob (yet) of being that Machiavellian.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 14:42

But...surely they'd say "but Rob said it was your idea!"

enochroot · 22/09/2015 14:54

The rest of the family will think it's a bonkers idea. Rob will insist it was Helen's idea and he was only following her instructions. She'll seem crazy and confused.

enochroot · 22/09/2015 14:55

It reminds me of The Yellow wallpaper.

Is he planning on putting the new bull in the pen? That could make for a lively shopping experience

He is so going to fuck the shop up and leave Susan feeling very smug

ppeatfruit · 22/09/2015 15:07

Grin Hee hee the new bull Grin BYOS But Susan has apologised to Peggy so we''l soon hear the crackle of the tabards in the village shop Grin

BYOSnowman · 22/09/2015 15:10

I predict shop wars

'Well you can't expect the same level of service can you. They just don't look very professional do they'

ppeatfruit · 22/09/2015 15:14

Yes I can hear it, mind you knob'll get the Bridge Farm servers in some sort of nylon overall, mark my words Grin

ppeatfruit · 22/09/2015 15:14

Oh and hairnets!

BYOSnowman · 22/09/2015 15:31

And bull shit all over the floor....

Hadron21 · 22/09/2015 17:06

Where's Charlie? I miss him,

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/09/2015 18:47

That was classic gaslighting. She says he didn't tell her. He says he definitely told her and she must be mistaken. It is far easier for her to believe that she might have been mistaken or that he meant to tell her but forgot than to believe that he is deliberately lying to her and trying to make her think she is forgetful. she is still clinging to the belief that she cannot possibly have been this badly mistaken about him and because it would never occur to her to do something like that so she finds it hard to imagine someone else would plus she is just unsure of herself enough to imagine he might be right.
it is very hard to say to someone's face 'you are lying about that' especially if you are scared of how they might react.

bitter experience Sad

Gruach · 22/09/2015 19:06

OMG. Left an earring?

Is GG about to burn down???

Gruach · 22/09/2015 19:07

Nope. Just ridiculous SW joking.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 22/09/2015 19:15

10 mile exclusive? That'll knock LL out then (& he didn't check with Rex)

Very naughty

Gruach · 22/09/2015 19:21

Oh noooooooo ........

Disaster.

Joskar · 22/09/2015 19:23

Right. Toddler squawking away totally ruined that revelation. What did Hester say!? An accusation of some kind, I know. What prompted it?

What was said about Grace?

Gruach · 22/09/2015 19:27

Are you able to listen again Joskar? Someone clearly put a bit of effort into tonight. Lots of different strands ...

Northernlurker · 22/09/2015 19:27

I think that the earring bit of script - which were EXACTLY Grace's lines on 22/09/55 - was in terrible taste. Almost as bad and frankly bizarre was the toast to Grace. Not very sensitive of Jill's feelings, however unreasonable those feelings are. Just all round daft episode tonight.

R4 · 22/09/2015 20:03

I find it bizarre that they remember the exact date of Grace's death. I'd be all at sea: I might possibly get as far as autumn in the mid-fifties but that would be it, unless I could pin it to something else. Mind you, this is the village where everyone buys everyone else a birthday card.Hmm

Joskar Hester said, quite plainly (and matter-of-factly!), that Carol killed John.

R4 · 22/09/2015 20:05

all round daft episode

trudat.

Also, has Toby never watched The Apprentice?
