Won't someone please give Kenton a kick in the FA Cup Finals, and a link to Money Saving Expert?

naughty continuity announcer Grin

Shallishanti · 01/06/2015 19:18

padlock jinx!

Seriouslyffs · 01/06/2015 19:29

That whole episode was so downbeat and depressing! Mrs Watkins was light relief.

GriefLeavesItsMark · 01/06/2015 19:30

What did he say? I wasn't listening properly and missed it.

Icimoi · 01/06/2015 19:59

"Well, here's a solution - sell the farm and move North!"

Icimoi · 01/06/2015 20:00

I know nothing about insurance, but I'm a bit sceptical about the
Grundys' insurer being willing to stump up for hotel rooms for so long. Wouldn't they have been pushing them to rent a flat or something?

TopazRocks · 01/06/2015 20:22

Yes, icimoi, I agree, and esp GG prices. I did like Ed today. He is cheerful and pleasant to listen to. I did wonder if Knob did send someone else for the test. Is that why Dr Locke had the lines about 'we've never met before'. But I think it's highly unlikely. Did Jess give any indication of who the father is then?

I couldn't stand the Eddie and Joe story last night. I wonder what the actors thought, oh aarr. Of course someone did complain on these boards that Eddy's pals had been forgotten for a while.Wink Does that mean Kathy and Jamie will be back soon? Grin

TopazRocks · 01/06/2015 20:25

I meant to say I can't believe Knob will get away with the culvert blocking. They have to finish that SL properly ..... otherwise TA would be a load of old toot. Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/06/2015 20:27

Jess admitted she had slept with someone else and Helen went to the docs with rob and we heard him discuss how long the results would take with dr Locke. I really don't think he is the dad!!!

The insurance company would have done a deal - discount for certain occupancy for certain length of time

cheminotte · 01/06/2015 20:35

If Kate is too old for Young Farmer's never mind living with her mum and dad her mum definitely is!

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 01/06/2015 20:52

And sorry, I seem to be falling asleep a LOT lately. What happened with Lil and Lynda at the rescue/vet/wherever???

TopazRocks · 01/06/2015 21:15

Indeed, BYOS, I wasn't being seriously. Smile

EBearhug · 01/06/2015 21:17

As I remember, YFC is 10-26, but quite often fund-raising events are open to all-comers.

The rescue dog wasn't Scruff, and Lynda tearfully said that she has to accept he is gone forever. So he'll probably turn up about 3 days after she's taken on a new rescue dog.

TheRobbingBastards · 01/06/2015 21:36

Ooh ebear, the Winterbourne is (hopefully) about five foot from my front door

Selks · 01/06/2015 22:12

I'm confused about the culvert thing...did Knob deliberately block the culvert or something?

TopazRocks · 01/06/2015 22:41

Actually, who IS paying for the Grundies' stay at GG? They had no insurance. Is it still just Caroline and Oliver being kind and generous?

R4 · 01/06/2015 22:41

We were back to SOC's favourite game of compare and contrast today: Heatherpet v Aunty Cardboard.

I can see why Peter never visits.

R4 · 01/06/2015 22:42

I think it is Hazel's insurance that is paying.

TopazRocks · 01/06/2015 22:52

YY, of course, hazel will be responsible for the building. It's the contents that weren't insured by the Grundies.

Selks, it seems Rob did block it to save Berrow Farm. But he hugely misjudged. Not sure we've been told why, but we assume he was wanting to avoid missing his fun evening in the Bull/feeling lazy and self-serving/doesn't actually like the cows. I suppose it now explains why eh was so unpleasant to Auntie C and PC Plot and all the others on the night. He was panicking as he hadn't expected the blocked culvert to have such a catastrophic effect. Can he be done in law for Freda Fry dying, if he is found out? Manslaughter, accidental death, etc? I do hope so.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/06/2015 23:11

Yes he did it to protect the herd who would have been flooded by the culvert (weird planning)

By blocking it I think he blocked he road which meant the emergency services could get in. His one blocking of the culvert doesn't explain why the flood was so bad though. So either he has been doing other stuff or there is some other weird geological feature which will mean route b gets cancelled

Selks · 02/06/2015 00:53

Ah thanks

ppeatfruit · 02/06/2015 08:48

BOOP point for Eddie's party ,it's just the sort of thing they'd do and double boop for Caroline's handling of it in an extremely dignified fashion! She was very kind too, didn't even give them a warning

squeaver · 02/06/2015 13:14

Of course that's what Jamie did! I'd completely forgotten but surely there would have been loads of work for tree surgeons in post-flood times?

Anyway, Ruth's gone to Pruddah so that David will need extra help on the farm and bring in the Fairbretheren. Let the sibling rivalry shenanigans commence!

JessieMcJessie · 02/06/2015 13:45

It's just occurred to me. that Rob's actions to protect the megadairy are out of character given that he spends most of his time shirking work and slacking off early. Though I suppose fits with him being too lazy to be bothered with a post-flood clear up.

ZeroFunDame · 02/06/2015 13:56

It fits with him thinking he's cleverer and more cunning than everyone else - and that normal rules of decency don't apply to him!
