Won't someone please give Kenton a kick in the FA Cup Finals, and a link to Money Saving Expert?

Ohhh good episode yesterday. Charlie definitely did play Susan like a violin!

Kenton needs to build a culvert and get (under? Through?) it. I have no sympathy. Jolene surely must be about to explode with irritation. You spent the bloody money before you had it. It is YOUR fault. Anything could have caused the sale to fail. Fool.

Nob Rob...I hope his downfall is dramatic!

Even though radio has no watershed, they do tend to bowdlerise TA.

squeaver · 03/06/2015 15:21

No, Lilian, JE is married. His wife required a room to get dressed in at the Hunt Ball, IIRC. Shame - I'd like to see him make a play for Lils.

ZeroFunDame · 03/06/2015 15:38

It would be quite fun to see Lillian steal one last husband - but I fear, no matter how much Botox the SWs pump into her, she has rather had her day as the "trophy" wife.

Toby's dismissive tone last night made my hair stand on end. I do hope he isn't going to be leading Pip a dance for generations to come.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 03/06/2015 19:08

Odd hearing "Adam" in Clare in the Community then straight into The Archers.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/06/2015 19:16

You might miss her David but the listeners wont!!

Travelledtheworld · 03/06/2015 19:26

Hooray.
Goodbye Newpip!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2015 20:19

Tonight was the first time I'd ever noticed that Simon the lecherous teacher in Clare in the Community is also Adam in TA! The voices sound nothing like each other.

GypsyFloss · 03/06/2015 20:30

Bye bye Pip, don't let the door bang on your arse on the way out Grin

ZeroFunDame · 03/06/2015 20:35

There's many a slip Gypsy ...

cheminotte · 03/06/2015 21:12

Well you may be glad to say au-revoir to Pip, but I thought the storyline of 'graduate gets first job she applies for after uni' a tad unrealistic.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/06/2015 21:14

Well yes - an we all know she's not going to go (boo) but I'd be happy with fairies whisking her away if it meant she left

cheminotte · 03/06/2015 21:29

What makes you sure she won't be going BYOS - no spoilers please!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/06/2015 21:33

Oh I'm just guessing as they seem to be building her up as the next big thing plus the romance with a fairbrother

And Ruth will be in prudhoe a lot and pip will choose family over career

TopazRocks · 03/06/2015 22:05

I listened tonight - carefully - and I have no idea what Eddie was up to. Can anyone explain, please?

Did anyone else think it was William Grundy as the token yokel on the WH serial - yesterday's episode? I thought maybe; DH thought an emphatic no.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/06/2015 22:55

Eddie was getting rid of the unused party food and drink from Baggy's birthday, and setting himself up for a 'business relationship' with this Vince character. I somehow suspect vince isnt exactly what he claims to be either.

TopazRocks · 03/06/2015 23:07

I gathered that. That Eddie was flogging food and drink, but who was he claiming to be? And was Vince a new character and who was he claiming to be?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/06/2015 23:09

why are they turning the grundys into eastend wideboys?

EBearhug · 04/06/2015 00:22

The Grundies have always been a bit prone to not always operating within whatever rules and regs may apply. Vince is clearly a replacement for Matt, as lots of people have commented it was daft to send him out the way they did, and he was a good character.

But it is all a bit EEish, and they'll need to do something good with the storyline to make me interested in it. It's not a good start.

ZeroFunDame · 04/06/2015 01:44

I assumed Vince would next be seen hammering a For Sale sign to the Grundys' (Hazel's) fence post ...

cheminotte It's true that in the old days Archers (and the odd brainy yokel like Brenda) used to be allowed out for a course of study before coming back to have the gates of Ambridge padlocked behind them. But the last person who did that properly was Alice - and see how they're punishing her for it now. Pip's already been allowed time out on another farm (though that, as with Tom's little solo honeymoon, was re-casting rather than plot) and really there are too many reasons agin.

SOC has announced that she's the future of the farm. Aha - that was the point of her conversation with Toby - he wants land without too much labour, she has it ...

I don't quite know how to describe her relationship with David - but he seems keener on her presence than Ruth's. And even his DM says he's looking tired. TBH the old Pip would have been loathe to leave the farm - with an energetic and ambitious sibling coming up close behind her. She'd want to stamp her authority on the place rather than risk returning to find the male heir had taken everything over.

Poor Chris was almost finished off to bring Alice back when she tried to leave. Pip should think on ...

DoctorTwo · 04/06/2015 04:44

I had to suppress a chuckle when Adam said he couldn't believe he was batting for the same team as Rob. Proper comedy moment.

Pip's going to try both the Fairbrethren before she leaves, I reckon... Fair(brethren) play to her, she deserves some fun.

stilllearnin · 04/06/2015 07:48

The adam batting quip was def deliberate. I enjoyed it (I'm a bit juvenile) . Sorry do we actually know who vince is? I wondered if he might be some kind of investigator- insurance, tax, benefits (probably not the latter - clarrie would not let them claim falsely)?

BertrandRussell · 04/06/2015 07:51

Why hasn't somebody- Shula, Jill, Fallon,Adam, Lillian ... somebody told Kenton he's being an arse?

GypsyFloss · 04/06/2015 07:57

Oh I know Zero ...she's not really going anywhere is she? It was just wishful thinking on my part!

Yes to Vince being the estate agent selling the Grundy home or some fraud investigator . He sounded like he was being voiced by Olly to me.

Can someone explain the Fairbrethen link to Ambridge to me please? Are they from Grace's line?
