I like the repressed childhood memory theory for the IOW trip. As already said, it's an odd place to go for a romantic break particularly for someone who claims he had an unhappy childhood. We rarely get to hear an Ambridge character away from Ambridge so if he flips his lid we'll hear about it second hand. Pity.

I just love the idea that Charlie will uncover all sorts of bad management and nefarious dealings while Rob is away. Maybe Stefan's in hiding and will emerge during Rob's absence.

Perhaps Rob has chosen IOW as somewhere he can walk along beaches and up chines with Helen sadly-but-bravely telling her how horrid his family were to him as the falsified suppressed memories come flooding back. I'm sure he'll be wanting to do some knife- sticking and sympathy generation in that area because with the announcement of their engagement Helen (and maybe p&t) will be expecting to meet his parents.
