Surely Helen must be hearing alarm bells now.

And what does he expect her to do in all the free time he's forced on her? Sleep?
She's not supposed to do the ironing. God forbid she should spend time with friends. He boaks at her cooking........

I recommend she does an assertiveness course or joins MN.

R4 · 02/07/2014 11:36

Wouldn't it be a great SL if Knob did suddenly exit. Until they found a replacement Charlie - being the expert on everything apparently - would have to step into the breach. He would be useless and would have to call for help from the very people he has spent the last few months dissing. Perfick!

Swannykazoo · 02/07/2014 11:44

Gypsy I would love Fallon to join the police instead of fiddling around with bunting and vintage tsets and clunking facebook references into the script and looking forward to her only storyline being getting a bloke.

PetulaGordino · 02/07/2014 11:47

i'm torn because i don't want to belittle anyone's interest in upcycling and themed parties and bunting and cupcakes etc, but it's just so infuriating

it just feels a bit like those daily mail articles where a woman's husband was made redundant from his city job in the recession and she saved their house from being repossessed by making cupcakes and jam

(god i feel like a bitch writing that)

trevortrevorslattery · 02/07/2014 14:00

Just popping in to agree about Fallon! Why is everyone pushing her into seeing Paddy McGuinness PC Plot??? Why does she even need a boyfriend?? AGGGHH

I've just caught up, would Tony really be so manipulative towards Neil?

TeenyfTroon · 02/07/2014 14:54

Sorry to go back a bit, but I just have to warn Gypsy about referring to our vice in RL, like the hairdressers! It's best to keep it quiet.

I never told anyone until my friend gave me a lift in her car and I just caught part of the film coming from the tape player. (Yes it was a while ago!) I was so pleased to find that I wasn't the only young person to tape the omnibus to listen later. We've been discussing it ever since, now via text.

GypsyFloss · 02/07/2014 15:00

Oh no TeenyfTroon I'm out and proud. Both about the Archers and MN in general. In fact I once used HelRob as a case study in a DV training session . I loved the fact that everyone in the room, including the Army Major General who had R4 running through him like a stick of rock, looked askance at me Grin

PetulaGordino · 02/07/2014 15:06

i know a couple in RL called helen and rob (lovely, both of them, NOTHING like the TA couple)

i made a veiled reference to this in front of her and she knew EXACTLY what i was referring to Grin

Swannykazoo · 02/07/2014 15:12

Arf arf arf arf pseudo (I'm not down with da kids young cool enough to say rofl/lol)

mummytime · 02/07/2014 15:52

Actually that bit of Neil was like his personality had come back from where its been hiding, he always was a bit of a push over, and needed Susan to give him backbone.
Neil must have some contacts with other pigmen, maybe he can bump into one looking for a new job/more work. (And Tony would have to pay the going rate.)

TeenyfTroon · 02/07/2014 18:26

Ok Gypsy, perhaps I should 'come out' too. Agree about MN - in fact I mentioned it to my GP recently - said I thought it was easier to access, more effective, and cheaper than counselling. Should be on PHSE (or whatever it's called now) curriculum for sure!

GypsyFloss · 02/07/2014 19:14

Well I've got my 17yr old DD correctly measuring herself and her mates for bras thanks to MN . In fact, let's ask MN is quite a common refrain in this house . As is swift exiting of the kitchen when the clock hits 7.00 pm Grin

GypsyFloss · 02/07/2014 19:15

Ohh Auntie Cardboard is back. With scones.

Sneezecakesmum · 02/07/2014 19:50

Can't believe the kitchen is still not finished. We have had a new room (playroom) extension built in 3 weeks and it's huge. Lovely area to stuff the kids in while I listen to the archers enjoy the view of the garden Grin

Loved susan telling Neil to grow some! Think it worked!

Sneezecakesmum · 02/07/2014 19:51

And doesn't Knobs Ma sound like a lady of the manor type?

Icimoi · 02/07/2014 21:34

Given the reports this week about the litter mountain left at Glastonbury, Lizzie seems to have been a tad optimistic in expecting the Girl Guides to deal with it all - or pessimistic about the number of visitors Loxfest will attract.

The kitchen business is another ludicrous situation. Surely if Brian had any sense he would have told the kitchen suppliers weeks ago that if they didn't get it finished immediately they'd be off the job and he'd be suing them for the cost of getting someone else to do the work? I just can't believe he'd be so feeble about it all.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 02/07/2014 21:40

yes the kitchen is getting silly now. makes you wonder about his business credentials if he can't even sort out the kitchen

PseudoBadger · 02/07/2014 21:53

The more quotes & plot details I read now, the more glad I am I've stopped listening.

Several of Hayley's double entendres were quoted on FB & I just cringed.

(I'm still following from afar though so keep up the good work Grin)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 02/07/2014 22:06

when it's really getting on my nerves I just read the synopses on lowfield
