Thankyou. Xmas Grin Even better for the GT if you can buy the wheels on their own! Although my last point still stands, BJ. Xmas Wink

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 14:28

Hmm....I wonder if there will be people swapping City Mini wheels for GT ones or do you think BJ will get wise to that?

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 05/12/2011 14:39

hey, anyone needing any toys from elc.com this BAUBLE code will give you an extra 20% off all toys, even the ones all ready reduced by 50%, so you could get 70% off Xmas Shock am very tempted with a few items myself,

Xmas Grin runs out on midnight sunday the 11th
aswellasyou · 05/12/2011 15:03

It'll probably depend how much they charge for a set of wheels and whether there are benefits to having the GT model over the BJCM. But I guess it is likely they'll be aware of the possibility already.

Prams, 20% off 50% only gives a 60% discount, but that's still really good. I've been in Branded Bargains (the same company as Home Bargains) today and they've got loads of really good deals on good brands of toys. I was particularly looking at Brio and Trunki things and they're cheaper than I can find online. I think I'll be going back to buy something for my daughter for Christmas.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 05/12/2011 15:11

So are GT wheels available to buy in the UK now? (thinks of upgrading bjcm)...

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 15:26

Nooooooooooo!!! The GT is nothing like ready. I am just speculating on possibilities!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 15:30

Oh there are loads of advantages to the GT over the City Mini other than the wheels. Bigger, taller, deeper seat, handbrake, adjustable handlebar, bigger footrest, auto lock (but that's coming on the new City Minis - easily unscrewed if like me you prefer to flick open as you pull the City Mini from the car.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 16:37

I am going to put this information here because I dont really know what else to do with it. From next year there will be a choice of 3 Baby Jogger carrycots for the single Elite, Mini, Mini GT, Summit and F.I.T - the current hard bodied one and the compact one plus a new larger compact one called a Compact Carrycot Plus. Its not hard bodied as I put to someone earlier. Its just larger. The Versa takes a different carrycot and will be a complete unit ie not making it up using the frame like the City Select.

I didn't realise that the Elite single is continuing - it is just the double that is being discontinued. POD is also coming here :)
I have loads of specs but I will stick those on BB.

aswellasyou · 05/12/2011 18:03

I haven't been paying attention, I thought it was just the better wheels and adjustable handlebar on the GT. Can you tell it's not really my thing? Xmas Grin In that case, I'm sure lots of people will want to buy the wheels for their BJCMs, but I think the extras will attract a lot more people towards the GT. So BJ might not mind selling the wheels seperately.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 21:48

I have sent a message to ask if the GT wheels really fit the Versa. The flaw is that the Single GT has 3 wheels whereas the Versa has 4 wheels. But I have asked if getting GT wheels is a real option and could they ship a container load across [wunk]!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 05/12/2011 21:58

I can see me getting a GT then. I liked the acid yellow and grey one the pictures were of.
I have sold my senzz already on ebay. that s a bit of space made before xmas then.
Do we have any estimate when the gt might be available in the uk? Or even when they re getting it in the usa?

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 22:13

That's good because we are only getting the mustard one - oh what's the colour called Xmas Hmm - I can't think, or the black/grey one called Shadow (I think!). I very much doubt we will see the GT before Easter - and my guess is on May. My BJ rep wasn't expecting to see either the GT or Versa again before the Harrogate show in March (I think we need an outing there?) There's all different dates on US websites. I saw Feb and March there earlier but I have learnt to add two months onto any possible dates! I still can't remember the yellow name....I don't have a window to check on BB for it either!! It's not banana, nor mustard....what else is yellow??.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 05/12/2011 23:08

Brass?
Cant believe I've been looking at mountain buggy urban jungle's tonight with the boots promotion code promo10
If I could be sure of build quality I'd get one. The design is so good. I'm worried about the rear wheels and also the locking spring. I thunk the urban jungle is narrower than my bj summit. Might be ok to fold for bus?
Am I mad for even looking?
Would the seat on the urban jungle be bigger than the seat on the swift? I'm thinking headroom in recline for sleeping.
If the build quality was good maybe an urban jungle could replace both my baby joggers?
Maybe I'm just day dreaming! I do like the basket and how accessible it is on the mb...

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 23:24

Aha...B is not for Brass but it is for Bamboo! I prefer Mustard as a name....

Lol re looking at Urban Jungles. I was pondering if I could spend the rest of my Boots points on anything, but you have to have the full cost to pay for it with. I don't think you are mad. I was contemplating an Urban Jungle too but I thought I would see how we got on with the +one first and so far it is encouraging....not perfect but a vastly different experience to the Duet. I do still hanker after a swift. But I think the reason the +one is working is because I have no pesky recline fabric to contend with. There's just something nice about the Baby Joggers though. I don't exactly know why but it's friendly and comfortable.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 06/12/2011 08:16

I ended up late last night looking on www.urbanjungle.nl at the Easywalker Sky Classic on sale....lol I did discover they come with a swivel wheel for town use but you have to take off the front wheel to fit it. Looks quite old fashioned.
I'm wondering about the seat size etc on the old version compared to new. I may email and ask for measurements later.
Its only in lime or powder blue though....but a good price and probably v good off road due to the fixed wheel design. Probably good for jogging too.

I was reading their claim that they were the first to make a 3 wheeler and all others were based on their original design....which I thought was quite an astounding claim! Having seen many Victorian invalid chairs in museums which were very similar...and I'm sure the design was not unique to the uk so no doubt Easywalker were inspired ( or based their design ) on these historic items. Three wheels was not an original idea invented by Easywalker!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 06/12/2011 09:41

Hmmm...I heard that Easywalker had based their early pushchairs on Mountain Buggies (which I was told used to have a zip recline) but over the years they have found their own identity. The old Sky sounds interesting especially with the buggy wheel. I love the build of the Easywalkers.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 06/12/2011 12:00

read this review of the MBTerrain on amazon.com. The three star review by John of Philedelphia.... Remember I had issues with the swivel being stiff on the swift? He describes here what he found when he had the same issue with his MB Terrain.... No bearings and it needed filling and grease to get it going.
I wonder if this loosens up with use generally.
I was starting to think about a terrain model, as I might miss the handbrake on my summit. Why switch to the MB Terrain? Mostly the width. It's 2.5 inches narrower than the summit.
I think I'd better stick with what I have for now (famous last words!)...

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 06/12/2011 14:51

Unless you can try two pushchairs at the same time then it's hard to say which could be better.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 06/12/2011 16:36

I have driven myself demented thinking about it and given up. Lol!
Can't wait til all the new baby jogger stuff materialises!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 06/12/2011 21:43

I have finally made a decision Xmas Grin
BJCM4 v's B-Agile.
This has been a tough one because DD looks really really comfy in the B-Agile and I think it's great for an older toddler - much better than the City Mini, with a bigger footrest. But DS just slouches in it and I can't work out why, and the pushchair is for him. I prefer the basket and brake of the B-Agile. But the B-Agile red fabric although it looks lovely, is a complete PITA to keep clean. The decider though (after being determined to give the B-Agile another go after seeing DD in the seat) is the handle height. Although there is barely anything in it, and the BJCM4 is just a tad high, I realised today that for me, a tad high is better than a tad low. If the B-Agile handle height had been a teeny bit higher, then I would have kept it and not the BJCM4. But the handle hurts me to push. I am sure the BJCM4 will get converted to a GT or Versa next year anyway. I am dreaming of a Versa with GT wheels too now. It's the perfect package!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 07/12/2011 09:42

www.kiddicare.com have 15% off orders over £300 until 10am today using the code XMAS1
Shame their mountainbuggys are full price. Still works out lots cheaper to get those from boots!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 07/12/2011 09:57

I am sitting on my hands and resisting the Toro!!! Must wait for baby jogger to sell me some lovely new items instead....new summit, GT, versa....

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 07/12/2011 11:21

Oh don't....I would still love a Swift even though logic says an Urban Jungle would be better, the Swift handle is too low and I hate the bunching up fabric. But I am not convinced any of our current off roaders is right for us.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 07/12/2011 11:35

Ok, next time I have some money, I will get a Swift.....it's like the Elite, I need to get it out of my system. This is real addict stuff Blush I love the Elite but the front wheel coming off the ground is a real issue...

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 07/12/2011 13:54

Doesn't the BJ summit have a smaller footprint than the Elite? Maybe the new summit will be "the one"?
I think I've got new buggy withdrawal! Haven't bought one for at least 4 weeks...
Have you ever had the BJ bag that clips on the side? If not, you need to try it! It's genius.
