I kind of like that title - we should do our own awards / elimination thread. We could start with a list of pushchairs and slowly eliminate them. I bet I know which would win the MN pushchair of the year.....any guesses???

Snobs!!! nooooooo never! To be fair, some of the best pushchairs eg City Mini aren't the most expensive, but I do think to some degree you get what you pay for - that's also not saying the most expensive is the best. But take the little Noa - it's cheap but it does a particular job well. But equally (and I will eat my words if I ever try one and love it) I just don't 'get' the Stokke Xplory (sorry fans).

True, I fail to see why so many people see Maclaren as a mark of quality. You can pick up an equally good supermarket umbrella fold for £25. maclaren are not what they used to be20 years ago by a long shot

Ok, so you read my mind! But you can't reject the Elite on handle height ! it goes down lower than most of my other pushchairs. In fact I should get off the sofa and get my Babyzen v's Elite comparison photos live for Prams. I think it would help her. I finally have a local single pushchair tester too :)

im sooooo glad i got a vista instead,i frigging LOVE my vista
i love that the raincover fits neatly inside a pocket in the basket,i love the massive basket,i love the recline,i love the big seat,i love the sturdy frame,big wheels,compact fold,pushability,the piggyback is great too,as buggyboards go...

and if anyone was worried about the weight limit...
the other day DD got REALLY tired and fell asleep standing on the buggyboard! she kept wobbling and nearly fell off,she just couldnt stay awake,bless her,i was still 10 mins away from home and i didnt have the ergo (sling) with me,i had to do something ...
so i shifted DS forward and DD lay down behind him.
they both fit,and the vista did not budge,not even a tiny creak,nada!
and it still pushed effortlessly...
not that i recommend it,but it says something about the quality strength and durability of the vista.

so im in the market for a cheap double again...
oh,and im secretly buying my friends old BJCM for a compact

The City Select will fold with the seat on - in fact it folds rather neatly with both seats on. Its better with the old 2010 seats than the new 2011 ones though.
You need a Rumble Seat Frigg [wunk] but a BJCM sounds great :)

What was that conversation about having a support thread for OH's on here? Mine is def interested! On the other hand, would my dad be welcome here? He's my main pushchair tester/fixer (i introduced him to the bjcm earlier) but I didn't realise the extent of his addiction till he confessed that he accosted a woman in the street who had the same vintage urban detour asking if he could check the wheel bearing mechanism on it. So they turfed out the poor pram dweller and upended it in the street. Ladies - the source of my addiction I feel!

PS is any one around on the 27th? There's a nearly new baby sale and I feel I may need real time encouragement dissuasion from buying anything

Lolol re your dad! I am sure he would be most welcome! At least you can blame him for your addiction! I don't think I have any genetic excuse - my dad prefers fixing hoovers!

New thread...Actually went to bed earlier last night...I had a black Oyster as wasn't overly impressed but it was ok...I hated the hood as it just doesn't fold back neatly...I've been invited to go to an Orbit Baby focus group!!! Possibility of being a tester and or getting a discount when on sale in the UK...Only issue is it's in London, including an evening as well as an afternoon discussion...I can't leave DD with DH as he's almost 100% deaf so wouldn't have any idea if she woke and cried in the night, though we do have a deaf aid alarm but it buzzes for any sound, doesn't distinquish between happy/sad sounds...Plus he leaves for work around 4.30am as he's a postman...Plus it's tomorrow anyway as i just looked at the date!!! Great notice!!!

I've replied and told the truth about buying one and then selling on...And if i can take DD with me. it's doable...But would mean she misses her skating class.

I quite like the Oyster. But only in the black chassis. The brushed metal chassis with the horrible grey basket is ugly! And it has to have air wheels. Saoirse's doesn't have hood issues. I think it's a really decent pushchair for the price and it's so narrow that you can get into really small gaps.

Oh so that's what an Oyster looks like! I have picked up many names from you lot but don't know what things look like yet...

thanks tiggy for that, rather i have discovered its the cam thats hurting my arms, on the cambers in the path on the school run, will have to check the tyre pressures as its pulling to one side, ok on flats but cambers big problem. i am now back to looking at the vista, but really need to set a different pushchair to 104cm i could try my xari on that height, but its a different type of handle bar, oh poo i don't know, what ever happens i need to go pay the money i spent back into my account so i can buy it . i pass a bjcm everyday, i need to get hold of it to test handle height, but i don't know her although i have had my hands on a halo and that has a high handle, i know her and could have a quick go, she knows i am crazy [mad pushchair woman ] and kiddicare have a discount code if you like them on facebook so i would get it for under £500 and it would do my shopping. i shall buy one soon i promise

Is the BJCM handle height the same as the Vista then? I would have said the Vista was lower on gut feeling. The BJCM always feels high to me. But maybe it's the angle. The BJCM handle is pretty straight up and the Vista comes at you from an angle. . I wonder if that makes a difference? I think it probably does.
