This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

aswellasyou · 10/08/2011 19:48

Grin suzie, how exciting!
We went to JL, Mothercare and Babies R Us today looking at doubles. The City Select is definitely a no-go. We couldn't lift the front up without a lot of effort, which just wouldn't work for us at all. We're always going up and down curbs when we're out and about. We were feeling like giving in and just getting a City Mini or Classic, until...duh duh duuuuh...we tried the B Dual!!! I couldn't believe how easy it was to push with all that weight in it. We took it up and down the platform it was on and it was really easy. We're hoping to get it in purple although they had the display one with a load of extras for £425 in Neon Black which was tempting. We'll get the Oyster height increasers to lift the top seat up by 7cm. It actually seemed fine as it was but a bit of extra space will never go amiss.Smile I can't believe we didn't look at it in the first place.Hmm

I am glad you tried the B-Dual. I do rate it as a brilliant all rounder. It is surprisingly easy to push :) It's interesting that you can use Oyster adaptors to lift the seat higher. I knew you could use them to put a Maxi Cosi seat on. So I guess that means it will work now having one child parent facing on top. How clever! Can you send me a link to the height increasers when you get a sec so I can have a look. I am glad you are all sorted :)

aswellasyou · 10/08/2011 20:55

Tiggy, I thought you'd have been using them. Here they are. They make it an even better option for us although we'd have gone for it anyway.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 21:08

Thanks :) I knew you could use them to put a Maxi Cosi seat on. Do you fix these directly to the B-Dual chassis in the socket, or do you put the adaptors that push the seat forwards a few inches first ie stack them? I guess not, but am just asking. I have decided to sell my BJCS tonight....I love the Peach so much that it's not being used, and at some point I will get another...meanwhile I have the Duet and ABC.

aswellasyou · 10/08/2011 21:19

Is that what those adapters are for? They had one in the basket but I assumed it was to put the carseat on or something. Do you put those on to make the seat move away from you? The ones I linked to just go in the normal holes and then you can put carseat adapters in them as well. Presumably you could use both the height increasers and the position adapters at the same time. I love how we're both learning about the adapters the other one knew about!Grin

aswellasyou · 10/08/2011 21:21

I'm thinking the position movers would go first and then the height increasers. I feel like that seems more stable than the other way round.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 21:27

Yes the other move the seat forwards by several inches outward facing. You can't use them parent facing though. I would put the Britax ones on first, then the others.

I just wrote a long ramble re what to keep and sell but it had so many pushchairs on it that OT got embarrassing so I deleted it. eBay here I come...

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 21:33

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 21:38

I've got my Oyster plus it's accessories to list soon...Plus that Mothercare Olympus that took an age to arrived...It was stored in the greenhouse but i gave that away yesterday in preparation for having my back garden paved over in a few weeks time.

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 21:40

Back from Brighton even more skint! We never even made it to the seafront.
The girls made me go in the Disney store, but I said everything was too expensive... I spotted mothercare, went in for a look, but no Phil and teds smart buggies....shame, I just wanted a look. Was emailed a 15% code today for mothercare. Typical!
Ended up at the crocs store. Crocs x 4 is expensive, even in the sale. Then pencil cases etc for the term ahead.
Almost wish we hadn't gone. Need to eBay stuff quick!
Oh, and an hour and a half on the train is too long. Girls were v hard work.Sad

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 21:44

No seaside :( No beach :( No ice-cream :( No pier :( No rock :( No hot doughnuts :( :( :( :( Awww!

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 21:45
Sad
Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 21:53

Ok...Frigg...B-Dual, Contours, Halo, Mutsy Duo seat, and Ergo have all gone. Mutsy chassis & Verve are on EBay. Graco Quattro Duo to relist. BJCMS to list. Jane to return after two days of scrubbing to no avail. Nipper to go next week. Dithering over BJCS and Joovy Superlite....

Will be left with...Twinner Twist Duo, Babyzen, Noa, Xtreet (may sell and get another Noa), ABC plus the Peach and Elite on loan.

Duet arriving soon, +one hopefully to follow and BJCM4 to order...and a new Peach Blossom when I can :)

I think that's the lot.....

What about the Valco?Wink

OP posts:
FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 22:04

i have decided that a +One,with a freerider,is my absolute perfect combo,it does everything i need it to...

i can have DS in the buggy as a single and DD scooting, when she gets tired i can either clip the freerider on to become a buggyboard or unzip the back and she can hop in (have i got that right tiggy?)
so i can drop DD off at nursery, and zip up the back and have a single all day for DS so i can be out and about,go to groups etc,and then back up to nursery, without having to waste time to go back home and swap buggy's around,or drag around a whole extra seat unit all day!

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 22:47

Oh heck...that gets collected tomorrow...I forgot about that!! Oh and there's also the Vista....arrrghhh!!

Yes Frigg thats about right :) The front seat in single mode I believe....will work in the same way as a single with a normal recline....and then I think you unzip, fix the front seat and bar and you have a double. However you barely notice the second seat in the back TBH. I wonder what you do with the second seat pad / board? I wonder if it fits in the folds or goes in the basket? Hmm...
There is also a compromise with the Freerider...its in the FAQs...hmmm you have to remove the handle and have the hood down low (which you would anyway). I wonder how they hold on...onto the back of the pushchair.

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 22:59

yes,i had seen that, wont be a problem as ATM i have to dismantle the mini micro to fit in a bag when shes sick of scooting, this will be a vast improvement!
and i guess they hold onto the buggy/hood as they do on a normal buggy board...

suzie38 · 11/08/2011 11:34

Got a tracking number now!!!

Tiggywunkle · 11/08/2011 12:24

Yay. World adventure here we come :) The Valco actually got picked up last night :)

MonkeysPunk · 11/08/2011 15:48

Phil and Teds Smart Buggy on eBay! A new one - £126 shipped including accessories (rain/sun covers and verso adaptors!)... Apparently handle height is 82-99cm - so on the short side for me at 5'7".

suzie38 · 11/08/2011 15:54

The handle height isn't adjustable...I'm 5'2" and the handle suited me perfectly apart from it not being in one piece.
