This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

It will be an ultralight as that's all Mothercare sell. I am going round in circles here. I can't find an apple luxury seat cover that can be shipped to the UK. I can't get the Joovy site to compute shipping for me. It just keeps saying there is a problem even if I delete and start again. The EBay.com ones are expensive to ship.

Tabitha8 · 21/07/2011 17:47

Re the import tax refund. Calling HMRC was a red herring. That's for a refund of any tax paid on the pink pram that we sent back to Amazon.

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 17:57

If I can find two seat pads then I will order the Joovys....Arrghh! I need a friend in the US!

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 18:07

BTW I can't remember (and am on my phone so hard to look up) who wanted the side net bags but I found two uk retailers last night. Google the UK pages and they will come up. I am tempted to get some but am never convinced at having all your kit on show...

MonkeysPunk · 21/07/2011 18:24

It was me interested in the net bags. Handy for wipes or raincover for Vista I think. I will Google later for UK shop.
Guildfordnanny look at the bongo link on letsgostrolling.com they provide shipping from us. Even from websites that won't ship abroad. Basically you get a us address with them, shop as many sites as you like, then they send in one package to UK when you say so. A bit like a friend in the usa!

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 18:27

Oooohhhh. I will check that out! Thanks. Sorry for not giving you the net bag links...I looked on my PC the other day and woud have to dig them out with two hungry children to feed! Hubby normally cooks but he is away for two days :(

suzie38 · 21/07/2011 19:07

I asked about Bongo on a message board site but no one had used them so it put me off...I was told about them from a company who were selling Orbit Baby's but could only do so if i signed up to Bongo.

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 21:29

My Kobi is going back :( :( :( It will be missed.the lady with the new white Kobi has decided to sell hers if anyone is interested. I have no idea of price but it's only a few days old. If it were grey I would consider it. Am still hunting down someone to send me some seat pads. It's sooo frustrating. I looked at the two US address go betweens but it seemed like a lot of work...but then equally I have spent two days trying to find a retailer who ail ship....ho hum!

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 21:30

Oh and I have just bought a Jane Powertwin. I keep being asked about them and know almost nothing except to keep my toddlers feet away from the front wheel! Back to new name thinking...and seat pad searching...

suzie38 · 21/07/2011 21:40

Why is she selling it out of interest??? Awww about your Kobi Sad I knew someone with a Powertwin for twins...She loved it but sold it when the babies were 6 months old because it was a nightmare getting it in her big Xauxhall Zafira, but she did have 5 children in car seats!!!

FriggFRIGG · 21/07/2011 21:50

Sad about the Kobi Guild i think they'd have to fight me to get it back!!

or you could just lock the door and claim you're not in when they come to collect it Grin

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 21:52

She has decided she wants a Donkey as it's not as wide as she thought! I think she has had a Peach Blossom too and baby isn't due for some weeks! The Powertwin doesn't really grab me but it will get tested, and reviewed and sold on again! I want to order these Joovys before OH comes back!

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 21:55

I can't do that...but I am very sad it's going :(
There you go re the Kobi :) Make an offer! It is practically brand new...

FriggFRIGG · 21/07/2011 22:03

wow, that Kobi is going to make a lot more money than mine did, just the title including the word 'pushchair' is a plus!! Grin

how did you find it anyway saorise or was it aswellasyou ?

aswellasyou · 21/07/2011 22:35

How on earth did the woman with the Powertwin struggle to get it in her boot?![sock] It's really small folded with the back wheels popped off.Hmm
It wasn't me who found the Kobi and Saoirse's in Turkey!
Have you seen the Donkey on eBay?

FriggFRIGG · 21/07/2011 22:53

ooooh,that donkey is nice!

still, dont want it though, blimey, maybe i really am cured Shock

aswellasyou · 21/07/2011 22:54

You don't know how much I want to bid on that Kobi!
Frigg, I was talking to my Mum earlier about how the adaptations work. She says the first thing you'd need to do if you want to try, is to contact your local authority's occupational therapy department. They should be able to help you sort out getting DLA and get the ball rolling on being assessed for any work needed.
Also-this might apply to you too Monkeys-you may be able to get a car through motability. She doesn't really know how this works, but if you/your children struggle to walk the distances needed in getting to places like school or the doctor, you can get a free car to enable them to do these things without becoming exhausted in the process.
It's worth a look into any of these things if you have difficulties relating to the hypermobility/being the parent of a child with hypermobility.

[sock][wunk] Is that a little bit rude?Grin
Saoirse found it. I assume she's got it as a saved search on eBay. I have it as a saved search since I wanted your Kobi!Wink

Oh and Frigg (I just can't leave you alone can I?Grin) I asked in John Lewis about harness and the (not-so knowledgeable) woman said they'd have to contact Cheeky Rascals and say they needed a harness. She said they might just sell the harness as a spare part rather than needing to buy the seat pad too. You'd need to do it on the phone or instore to give them your card details. I know you're trying to get the harness sorted from the seller but I thought I'd ask seen as I was there anyway.

FriggFRIGG · 21/07/2011 23:06
Grin thanks for that, aswell, and say thanks to your mum.thats very useful information,i'll get on thatSmile

oh and [sock] [wunk] is a bit rude,i dont reckon it'd get through the swear filter on nethuns The Site That Shall Not Be Named.

FriggFRIGG · 21/07/2011 23:07

THANKYOOOOOU!

Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 23:08

I spotted the Donkey earlier...shame it has a sand base...apologies to anyone who likes the sand...but IMHO it looks odd with the coloured hoods. As for DLA...don't even get me started on that one! I am sat surrounded by paper, booklets, letters galore....
