This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

I hadn't looked at the handlebar height...but I don't like low handles generally!
Does anyone here know Brighton well? Apart from the pebble beach is there much for kids that is free to do? Nice playparks? Street performers? Kids are oddly not keen for another train outing, despite usually enjoying it once out. I've made the picnic, but it is large to carry....not having a car adds a lot more exercise and planning I can tell you that!

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 09:43

i dont know how you do it monkeys,
im always out with the kiddo's,but ive been meaning to take them by train to brighton for ages,my best friend lives there.....but i cant bear the thought of 2hrs on the train with screeching baby and chatterbox-tantrum the toddler, the mere thought terrifies meGrin

what buggy are you taking?id either take the vista or the volo if were you,you either want something with storage,or something tiny,so it wont get in your way!

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 09:51

I'm thinking Vista, or xlr, as its a long outing and layback could be needed....might be forced to take Vista due to carrying capacity for the lunch! It's me and 3 kids, with lunch, snacks and tea also. Plus our sigg bottles.
Believe me Friggfrigg, if staying in were easier we'd do that! It's like a riot in my house if we don't go out! My 7 and 9y olds fight. Nonstop.

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 10:03

oh im with you there,we dont stay in,its not wrth the fight...

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 10:04

I dont know about free activities but it's a fair walk from the station to the seafront. We usually just play on the beach and walk to the end of the pier and back. We usually did the Sealife centre but that's not cheap. I would amble through The Laines on the way back to the station - theres some interesting shops. Oh and if you have the funds we used to like the electric railway that goes along the front - if it's still there?

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 10:06

I dread train rides as well, even though DD is generally well behaved...Keep meaning to go back to London to see the tigers at the zoo...That journey is generally 1 hour and 45 minutes and is the maximum i can manage.

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 10:08

These days i can easily stay home all day but couldn't when she was small...I think because we're out of the house 4 days because of work, i do like being able to be lazy for a couple of days.

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 10:10

The cheapest way to get sealife tickets there is to buy them at the tourist info center. A lot cheaper than at the sealife center! Same for that golden topped building (i forget what its called).

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 10:19

Boots are selling that Chicco Simplicity buggy i quite liked...On offer at the moment with money off and points to make it around £105 plus free delivery...Shame it's not my prefered color plus i don't really need it either.

aswellasyou · 10/08/2011 10:25

suzie, if you change your mind, use the code KWMC10 to get an extra £10 off.Smile
We're still stressing about which double pushchair to buy! It's either going to cost me a fortune or it won't actually properly fit in our Mum's boot.

Must take the nipper today, volo too tiny for all the walking and no layback. Xlr not that small, nor much carrying capacity....(must eBay xlr! ), vista a bit too big plus not good on stairs....
I can have changebag and picnic on handlebar of nipper! It's fine with stairs or cobbles. Can push one handed too. Nipper wins!

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:27

Yay for the Nipper. I bet you are glad you bought it. I am not getting an Orbit now :( The Pavillion is the golden topped building. I love the childrens clothes shops in Brighton such as those selling Toby Tiger and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada....my OH likes the retro sweet shop at the top end of the Laines nearer the station. We used to have to do the ski train to the Alps with a baby and toddler. It took forever but wasn't too bad. But I don't like trains much.

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:28

Unless steam powered, Thomas the Tank Engine, or have windows that you can open, or you aren't on them for long!

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 11:31

Was just about to walk out door...and noticed nipper has a flat tyre. Ffs, I hate that its been supplied with sh*te cheapy tyres!

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:33

Very randomly but do they now make good ie will stay on, iron on name labels for clothes. Or are the old fashioned sew in ones still the best?

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:35

:( re the Nipper. What are you taking now?

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 11:50

Ok, there was no puncture! I had fitted tyre-flies. It wasn't screwed on right and had let all the air out. Oops! My fault.
They're still thin tyres mind you.
Not sure where to go now. It's a bit late for Brighton given I wanted to travel home at a decent hour to avoid any potential rioters....

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 11:55

Cashs sew on tapes are best. Iron on ones fall off. Buy the packs from john Lewis for £9 for 144 tapes, it comes with a code to use online. So you still order direct with Cashs but save £4 on Cashs price and get expediated service too. I know it seems a faff but is worth it.
Still taking nipper. Am embarrased by my foolishness assuming tyre was punctured. It's fine now I've pumped it up again and have fitted tyre fly properly.

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:57

Thanks...I have done something like twenty odd years sewing name tapes on and thought I could escape it for my two.

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 11:58

I hope you still make it to Brighton :)

FriggFRIGG · 10/08/2011 12:03

good luck with brightonSmile

why arent you getting the orbit tiggy???Sad

Tiggywunkle · 10/08/2011 12:18

No idea....but it's fine. I need the money towards my +one, BJCM4, cosy toes, Duet car seat adaptor etc...

MonkeysPunk · 10/08/2011 12:46

Sorry you're not getting the orbit Tiggy.
Am at station waiting for Brighton train. Bit of a late start. Nipper was ok getting up and down stairs of bridge. Best of my buggy selection for stairs!

suzie38 · 10/08/2011 15:30

Got an invoice off Rick re my 4 accessories...Just checking that they're being sent with the stroller and if so then my G2 will be on it's way tomorrow Smile and Hallalujah!!!
