This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

I would love to be a buyer for the JL baby department, or for mothercare!
No we should start our own chain...

Piggyback has arrived. Neat, light, easy to fit. The wheels are ball bearing ones, and the swivel bit is also ball bearing! No suspension, but very slick!
Does not get in way at all! Awesome.

We should have a whole company designing and selling pushchairs.Grin

Tiggy, those Mima comparisons are interesting. I didn't realise how big the Kobi was folded-it didn't seem that big when we folded it at JL. I'm so in love with them! If the Xari had bigger back wheels I'd move on to wanting that I think. It's interesting they've got a white Kobi despite only supplying the grey and silver. I think they should sell me the white Kobi and use a grey one as the example one.Wink

You can always give them a call and ask ;) The Kobi is pretty large folded but so are some other tandems like the B-Dual, Pear etc. They are just so stunning. It would be fab to be a pushchair designer...or simply an in house tester giving feedback and ideas.

The piggyback sounds great BTW. The Vista seems to be a pushchair that works.

Having tested the piggyback irl, it gets in the way a little... but works better than most... I used with main seat rf, and it was a bit tricky to clip up without moving the calf rest upwards a bit.
Will try with main seat ff next outing.
I did manage to push my 40kg 9y old up a hill on the way home on it...surprisingly easy!

Someone here is in big trouble as they linked to a BumbleRide Flyer on Ebay and I bought it! I do not need another pram but I have coveted one for years (spent too much time looking on StrollerQueen's website and drooling over the US prams)

It was only £21 though so it's not too bad Grin

I just need to get rid of some of my excess prammage:-

Emmaljunga Classic pram in beige Burberry check (Friday ad for £50)
Loola Up in Choco-Cream & Framboise pink
Safety First Surf in grey/black
BabyJogger City Mini Double

I have had a Hauck Infinity in red, Maclaren Quest in Scarlet Bubbles, Alu-rax double, First Wheels City Twin in black, P&T E3 v2 in grey (£30 in Friday Ad with doubles seat, cocoon, cosy toes and rain cover. Sold for £75).

I'm beginning to think TiggyWunkle (Guildford) is going to be the UK version of StrollerQueen. Any thoughts to providing a pram choosing service (paid for)?

LOL I need to Google StrollerQueen now! How would a pram choosing service work?
I am here to learn about singles from you guys because I have huge gaps re singles - I vowed to buy the right single first time, and I pretty much did - but its doubles that have set me off big time because there is no such thing as a perfect double.

For example, I am in a real quandry tonight because its carnival here, and I really need a good off roader for a muddy park, bearing in mind it will be dark and chilly at 10pm. But I have loaned the Twinner Twist Duo out on a months review for BB so I dont have that back until next week - and that would have been perfect. I have a BJ Elite double here but its a showroom model so I darent get it muddy even though it would be perfect. I have the Verve and B-Dual which would cope well with a muddy field but I can't get to them in time. I can only get to the BJCS, the Peach, Contours and Graco Quattro. We had planned to try the latter out tonight but my toddler needs to be in the back seat (she stops the wheels otherwise) and the hood at the front is pretty rubbish to be honest. But they all have small wheels. Why is it you never have the right pushchair at the right time?????? Although its heavy I think the BJCS is the best to cope...Oh why isn't the Duet here this week???!! I really want to use the Elite but its not mine to use like that :(

I may have someone who can get me the Ergo seat covers, but after having seen my son in the front seat of the Graco I really need a head support for him. I need to read back through to see which one was suggested. Has anyone got any good head support recommendations for a 12 month old, preferably with some side wings for when he sleeps?

www.strollerqueen.com/

StrollerQueen does a bespoke stroller finding service which (I think) works by the ptb answering a detailed service on things like city/suburban/rural, car/public transport, single/double/convertible, buggy board or no, large basket/not bothered, etc, etc and using her extensive database singling out the short list of prams to choose from.

She also publishes a review of the years pushchairs on a pay per download basis.

Tiggy -Take the bjc elite double, and be prepared to wash off after. Fabrics are dirt resistant, and generally they clean off nicely.

I'd take the Elite too.Smile Truth, I just went into My eBay and saw the Flyer had sold for £21, then thought 'I wonder which MNer bought it'! I knew it would be someone on here.Wink
I've looked at stroller Queen a few times while looking at American pushchairs. I didn't realise they did a bespoke service. Tiggy, get on it!Grin

Lol....I do all that already but for free :) But it sounds like fun doesn't it? I fancy the other Flyer but I live at the other end of the country. Why are all the best pushchairs miles away. There's an interesting pushchair near Manchester but it's still too far to have a punt....lol re the Elite...it wouldn't get too muddy...only the wheels which I can wash. I am test driving it to be fair but it's a showroom model in it's other life.

I was looking at the other Flyer too!Grin It's 75 miles from me. I do it if I really, really wanted it but I just want it. I'm always seeing good, cheap pushchairs that are too far away from me. I'm intrigued by the Manchunian pushchair!

Spill the beans Tiggy - enquiring minds want to know!

I'm very excited - picking the Flyer up tomorrow afternoon so going to have a little play over the weekend.

Tiggy if you would like a reivew on any of the prams I've had let me know (most are fairly generic though so you probably already have loads on them).

Am v v v tempted to preorder the dylans candy bar Maclaren.....from either www.pramworld.co.uk or Maclaren direct- though I'd have to phone them to order it..... it's kinda pricey £125 - but I love those rainbow colours - and there are sweets on the raincover too! (although my ds could really do with pics of fruit - as he's all too keen on sweets as it is!). It's a volo - comes with liner too - and the straps are all rainbowy also.....it's just lovely and bright!
I suppose I should wait until Boots refund for the swift before I get anything else in truth...

MonkeysPunk · 22/07/2011 22:20

ok - what is the advantage of being "carbon fibre skinned"....what does it mean? This leather carbon fibre mac - has the two handed recline system....and old harness too.... still a fab deal for those who are into their leather though....sorely tempted - but I would still prefer to use my vista everyday so what would be the point?! A fab bargain though - as they used to retail around £1000 in the UK!

LOL - having been initially awed by the price-drop... I now see - finger pinch hinges, two handed recline (new xlr's have one-handed recline system), old harness.... not so great.
Still a bargain for the right customer no doubt... Confused

I think the black framed xt or volo looks cooler......

We took the Elite. It was surprisingly not muddy considering all the rain lately. I can take the Peach tomorrow. But I actually felt excited about the Duet because there was something quite nice about having my children side by side. I think the Elite is a brilliant pushchair jam packed with features but it just feels too wide for me. I always like using it though. I love the storage, the reclines, hood etc. It was cute to see my two in matching Gro bags and blankets watching the fireworks. Awww! But thanks for helping me make that decision. I also bought the grey head hugger earlier because it looks bigger. Thanks to whoever helped me decide that :) Hubby hasnt twitched at my recent purchases and in fact he's given me the green light for another one. I am just doing my usual procrastinating trying to weigh up whether this is an addiction or simply done in the name of research??? My Ergo is apparently on it's way, on it's own. Still no ergo seat pads as yet though and nothing back from Joovy which is odd. Does anyone fancy emailing them for a shipping cost coz they aren't replying to me! Failing that I may have a US contact. I tried the Graco Quattro Duo out earlier. It's a good solid pushchair but I can't work which child goes where. The back seat has the full recline plus huge hood for a baby but the seat is really tall with a footrest over the basket. The front seat hood isn't worth bothering about, very little side support but my daughter was having great fun stopping the wheels turning with her feet. So really she needs to go in the back but yet the baby doesn't look that cosy in the front! Great basket though!!!! :o Lots more to say but this feels loosen essay! I think my 4am bedtime is catching up with me and we have more carnival to do tomorrow!
