Would you spend £1mill on a house with one bathroom?

We’re looking at properties in the area and fell in love with this online, which is way way way over our budget so it’s just a fantasy really.

but if you had a million to spend, would you be happy with only one bathroom? I guess I’m trying to talk myself out of my dream house here.

@Panicmode1 interesting, was the traffic quite fast? I live on the side of an A road on the edge of a village so I’m kind of used to a steady stream but not if it’s bumper to bumper like you’re suggesting.

starting to see why it might not be selling.

this is good, this is going some way to curing me. But not really.

I think if you are used to an A road, you may be fine. Personally, I couldn't live with it. The traffic was steady not static (although in Hawkhurst it took us about 10 mins to get through the lights/past Waitrose/Tesco so we came back the other way to TW) but I've done it in the summer and it is super busy - particularly at the weekends. I'm not sure how long you may have to wait to turn right out of your drive for example.

I think you need to do a viewing if you haven't been - it's a lovely house, but given the size of the plot it sits in, I'd want it to be a LOT further back from the road, and if I was spending that sort of money on a house, I'd not want it on an A road.

Yes, like others I would work with the bathroom but the road would definitely put me off.

@Panicmode1 great intel, thank you. I imagine it'll be a mare to do the school run. I think if it was set further back from the road it would be worth a few £00k more!

The one bathroom wouldn't put me off itself, but the fact it's doubling as an en-suite would.

I would remodel somehow to achieve both properly.

@aginglikeafinejacobscreek Agree that it would be more further off the road. You may completely disagree with me when you view, but for me it would be a deal breaker (and it's partly why we haven't upsized in TW. I refuse to spend upwards of 1.25.mill to be on a busy road in town when I am a country mouse at heart 😂. We will wait until the children are through the grammars and move out of town into rural isolation).
