Shall I inform the school and other parents?
The person spent 4 years in jail and I don’t feel comfortable that my child Is in one classroom as the convict’s son.
I know school probably just cares about their money but isn’t it a bad look for them to have a convict within their community?

A girl anf her brother suddenly joined our state school as their local businessman father had been found guilty of mortgage fraud on a large scale and gone to prison. They were both very nice and fitted in well - people were kind to them and our parents welcomed them as they would any other friends of their kids. Shame op couldn’t behave like that too.

Caughtletren · 25/01/2026 07:33

well you’d have to be as thick as shit to have come to that conclusion!

Lovely.

So it's one of those posts designed to show private school parents just how much contempt other people have for them.

That will make us feel more engaged with society and OK with ever-increasing theft redistribution through higher taxes...

IdleThoughts · 25/01/2026 07:42

You do realise there will be plenty of people paying school fees from the proceeds of crime, they just haven't been caught yet so you will never know. At least they are clever criminals though.

Bethany83 · 25/01/2026 07:42

Wow, you sound like a lovely non judgemental person.

Secondly, private schools, believe me, just need bums on seats so to speak. As long as customers pay their fees that's all they care about generally.

Finally, this person has done their time. Four years in prison. Should they be punished forever???

Should THEIR CHILD be punished??

People like this (criminals) shouldn’t be allowed In private schools.

Wait until you find out about the (white collar) crime that other parents are still committing without being caught... Any finance or tech workers? Cocaine and various other drugs are pretty common in high pressure, long hours jobs like that.

The criminal isn't attending the school. The child is. Do you think that all children should be punished for the sins of their parents?

Do you expect the school to expel a pupil who hasn't done anything wrong because of what their parent has done (which doesn't affect the school in any way)?

Snorlaxo · 25/01/2026 07:43

You are naive OP- especially about the number of people who engage in criminal behaviour but haven’t been caught. They will be using their money on all sorts of things including school fees and private schools are businesses will be happy to take that money. It’s not their job to check where the money has come from.

I think that you’re very nasty treating this child as if they are a criminal. Unless you know that the fees come from proceeds of crime (in which case you should talk to the police), shut up and get on with your life.

If we excluded all the as-yet-unconvicted criminals, private schools would have to shut down.

cobrakaieaglefang · 25/01/2026 07:46

Probably more common than you think.

Exactly! And the parent has paid his debt to society. It's not supposed to be a life sentence.

PruthePrune · 25/01/2026 07:50

You interfering, spiteful, pearl clutching fucker. I bet your mouth was puckered like a cats bum when wrting your OP.

Ok. Now I am 99% certain you’re a troll.

if you are serious, sure raise it. The school will know you’re a safeguarding risk to the child.

PollyBell · 25/01/2026 03:22

Maybe all the parents can get together and stand at the school gates with pitchforks wearing Traitor masks? Or stick and ad in the local paper in the gossip section

Oh she will have already have initiated this, whispering in ears like Iago. Hopefully the news will get out that she is a spiteful, judgemental, snobby parent who wishes ill on a child. I hope her son/daughter won't be vilified for it.

Has she skulked off now?

RampantIvy · 25/01/2026 07:54

Waiting for the deletion. I don't believe that the OP is a genuine poster.

TrustedTheWrongFart · 25/01/2026 07:57

Will you be background checking every parent with children in your child’s class?

Hopelesscase32 · 25/01/2026 07:58

Why are you placing blame on this poor child!
Trust me when I tell you those are not the only parents at the school that have criminal histories. You sound like a stuck up snob

You're right. They should be with the scum of the earth state school parents who don't care enough to pay school fees. (For clarity...sarcasm)

The child is as deserving of education as any other child in that classroom. They didn't choose their parent(s). Leave them alone.

BCBird · 25/01/2026 08:01

lovingsummerdays · 25/01/2026 02:59

I do hope you are not being serious.

I agree. Private school parents are from society. Did you think everyone had been.law- abiding. What purpose would you have for punishing the child?

You’re naive to think that everyone who has the money to send their children to private school and live that kind of life style made their money in wholesome legal ways.

Even if they have legitimate jobs they can still be dodgy, immoral people who have done bad things to get what they have.

Queenoftartts · 25/01/2026 08:03

What threat do you think this child is to yours? People do change and school are probably already aware.

cartagenagina · 25/01/2026 08:04

What a thoroughly nasty person you are.

You did make me smile, do you normally approach life as a cos play Hyacinth Bucket.

The child is not a criminal and shouldn’t be punished for the sins of their parent. People change. Practically, do you really want this to be your life defining campaign?
