Hiya,

Just thought it might be nice to start a thread for those of us due in May 2010. I know its only early days but I followed one of these whilst being pg with DS1 and it was invaluable.

Couldn't find one for my dates this time round (might be wrong?) so thought it would be nice to get together, share stories and follow the progress with some others in the same time-period.

I'm due 6/7 May I think. Didn't really plan to have such a short gap between DS1 and DC2 but also didn't do much to prevent it. (IYSWIM!)

Have started feeling nauseous already(!) which I can't believe as I didn't have it nearly as early as this last time round. No sickness last time and a very enjoyable pregnancy - so am hoping for the same again this time round. Slight disaster with giving birth 2 weeks early with no hospital notes or hospital bag, two hours from home and at a family funeral...(!) So am going to stay AT HOME near the end this time round. Really looking forward to giving birth again. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience last time and looking forward to hearing other peoples stories and sharing our pg's together!

just got my booking appointment through from the midwife. it's not until 9.5 weeks, is that late? Early scan next week though

Rosa333 · 18/09/2009 13:25

Hello, May I join this thread ?

I am due May 2 or 3 and have one 25 month son.

I had an early scan on Tues and found all was well - very reassuring.

30ish · 18/09/2009 17:34

Congratulations everyone!

Can I join this thread? I'm due around the 19th May (I think)with DC#2. Going to see the midwife on Wednesday. A couple of people at work have already guessed as my waist band seems to have increased already! Bit worried that I have no nausea yet - i was already suffering from morning sickness at this stage with DC1! Should I be worried or counting my blessings or is the sickness going to hit me over the next few weeks?

KateM77 · 18/09/2009 18:57

Hi all

It's my first pregnancy and I'm due 9th May

Currently feeling very queasy every morning and having to eat fairly constantly because of it. Also feeling exhausted by the end of each day.

I now have a cold too, so feeling very sorry for myself. Assume it's best to avoid any medicated remedies and just suffer?

Can't wait for 12 week scan so that it all feels a bit more real!

PanicMode · 18/09/2009 19:08

Congrats to all the other newly pg May mummies (I feel a fraud being here with a 30/4 due date, but I suspect I will deliver in May!).

30ish - I didn't have any nausea with my first or second, but suffered a bit with my third and am feeling totally rotten all day every day with this one - so I guess every pg is different! (great due date btw - that's my 9th wedding anniversary )

and KateM77 - congratulations (MS is the pits isn't it!). Sorry to hear you have a cold - I'd steer clear of the cold remedies - I usually squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a mug, add a couple of slivers of fresh ginger, add a spoonful of runny honey and top up with boiling water and that usually does the trick. Hope you feel better soon.

argento how are you doing today?

KateM77 · 18/09/2009 19:16

panicmode thanks for the congrats and the advice, will stock up on the lemon and ginger tomorrow

babymeg · 19/09/2009 11:57

Oh My God!!!! Woke up this morning and I'm not sure but I think my breasts are as heavy as bricks! Bloody agony, and is anyone having the strangest most vivid dreams ever or is it just me? Keep waking up thinking 'what the hell was that about' anyway hope everyone is keeping well

GiPi1 · 20/09/2009 20:16

Hi panic how are you feeling? have you got any real symptons yet?? Apart from tiredness and boobs a bit tender I don't really feel much different - oh apart from ligament stretching pains - oh, and the bloody bleeding which is still going on !!! Midwife as assured me it is not my "bean" and I really hope she is right - and has offered me another scan at 10 weeks !!

argento - I am bleeding really quite alot with no explanation - had "aches" rather than cramps but the bleeding has been going on for over a week now - doctors really cannot give me an explanation but midwife did send me for a scan, to reassure me - the scan was great and showed my "bean" had doubled in size in a week and the heartbeat was nice and strong - so I just wanted to say that bleeding does not always mean bad news, and sometimes it is just unexplainable. I have still got all of my fingers and toes crossed that nothing does go wrong, and will keep them crossed for you too - please go to the docs or phone your midwife (if you have one yet) even if it just for reassurance and to ensure that YOU are OK, as well as your "bean".

Take care everyone and roll on next April/May xx

mustbemadno3 · 21/09/2009 13:51

Hi and congratulations to everyone.
Can I join the may baby thread?
Im due on 10th May and I have just joined mumsnet today,(no idea what I am supposed to do, but it looks good!)
This is my 3rd pregnancy but my other 2 DC are grown up now (12 and 8) oh my god i feel like i am starting over.

I havent told anybody yet and dont plan on for quite some time! Well as long as I can get away with it!!

Is anybody else feeling really crap? My boobs are killing, I feel sick and have a constant headache and cold? Is this normal? I dont remember feeling this rough (must be my age!)

KateM77 · 21/09/2009 19:43

Yep, feeling really crap too! Fortunately my headaches seem to have stopped and my cold is on its way, so I now just have to contend with the queasiness and dizziness.

Got my letter today with dates for my booking appointment and 12 week scan, so feeling excited about that. Can't wait to see my bean

katnkittens · 21/09/2009 21:47

Hi can I join you? The anc seems to move so fast I can't keep up!

I'm 29 and this is my 7th pregnancy but 4th baby (hopefully). Very nervous after previous miscarriages but they were early (around 5 weeks) and I'm just over 6 weeks now.

I'm due 15th May and I have 2 DCs from previous relationship DS aged 13 and DD aged 11 and my husband and I have 1 DD aged almost 6 together.

I like big age gaps but am a little nervous about 'starting again' just as my youngest is starting to gain a little independence from me.

Also a bit worried as I am in my final year at university studying biomedical sciences and final exams are in May! Could be interesting....

Look forward to chatting girls

first1 · 22/09/2009 09:18

katnkittens same due date! 15th may =) have you spoken to the university about deferring your exams?xx

katnkittens · 22/09/2009 10:19

Hi, haven't spoken to the university, feel a bit bad as when I had the 2 miscarriages I missed a lot of uni (the beginning of this year) and then my youngest was diagnosed with epilepsy so I decided to withdraw from my final year and come back in January (they are letting me carry over the first semester).

So, I don't really want to go back in January and start asking for special treatment again. I do know that if I can't make the May exams, the option will be there for me to do them in August but I would really really prefer to get them over with before baby is born.

My babies have always been at least a week late anyway so I'll be the strange one hoping for an overdue baby!

PanicMode · 22/09/2009 11:04

Hi everyone

Congrats to everyone who has joined the thread since I last looked at it last week!

Gipi, I am feeling utterly rotten actually - sick ALL the time, really, really exhausted and I am still really struggling with the whole idea of doing this again when I really didn't want to. The GP has given me the number of the local counselling service but I can't get through as it's constantly engaged....

Bet you're glad you asked now

Vicky204 · 22/09/2009 11:50

Hi there

Was happy to see a thread such as this, hope you're happy for me to join.

This is my first and I'm now 6 weeks exactly, went to Dr today so all official now. Am really nervous about next 6 weeks although trying not to stress too much.

I do keep getting twinges and period like cramps a lot through lasting for some time, and they woke me up last night. Is this normal? I'm also off to India for a holiday in three weeks so am going to have to be extra extra careful.

At first we thought the timing of this was awful as i've just been made redundant and so now am worried about what I'll do for work in the coming months, but as I'm heading towards 35 we're both really happy it's happened and just don't want anything to go wrong.

All advice welcome, nice to meet you all

Vicky
